Hulu's reputation is marked by a diverse content library and the appeal of timely access to popular TV shows and movies, which many customers appreciate. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding technical performance, including frequent buffering, app freezes, and navigation difficulties, leading to frustration among users. Additionally, issues with customer service, such as unresponsive support and billing discrepancies, have been highlighted. The overall sentiment indicates that while Hulu offers valuable content, persistent operational problems and a growing dissatisfaction with ad frequency may push customers toward alternative streaming services.

Hulu is hot garbage. Id rather watch just regular cable TV than deal with hulu. They play too many Ads through out your program. After 5 min into the show, you have to watch 5 min of Ads. They claim its only 1:30 min, but thats not the case. Ads will continue to play. And this doesnt happen just once. It happens multiple times while watching a songle episode. Seriously, forget Hulu.
I've had Hulu for years now. I pay $60 dollars for live tv and no ads. Now they are raising the price up next month. And now I'm starting to see ads. I spoke with someone from Hulu and he said you only see the commercials to shows we don't own. That's false advertisement then. So now you're increasing my bill and making me watch with commercials? No thank you. I canceled that same day
I've been using Hulu Live for about 1.5 years. Originally it didn't work consistently with live broadcasts. It worked fairly well but many live streams were interrupted due to Hulu problems - I repeatedly called customer service. Back then, customer service answered the phone quickly and tried to help. It was definitely beta. Currently, service is very different. I've missed baseball games (World Series), football games, and other live coverage due to Hulu's streaming technical problems. And service is becoming worse every week. Customer service doesn't answer calls or resolve issues - they blame ESPN, CNBC, cnn, fox, etc for their problems. But I pay them, not their suppliers. And now they're increasing monthly charges to $69 for service that isn't working as claimed. I have the NO/adds which means lots of advertisements that you have to watch on the recordings. Many times it didn't record shows; I complained and it wasn't resolved. I live in Houston with excellent download speeds and few interruptions. I'm now going back to cable. It costs more but it's reliable. I might go back to Hulu in a couple of years but they're overmatched at this point.
Hulu clearly wasn't meant for PC users. The UI is glitchy and sometimes unresponsive, whether using the website or Windows 10 app. Despite having adequate internet speeds (60 Mbps), I couldn't manage to view content at anything higher than 720p, most of the time it looked like 480p. 21:9 ratio movies or shows have hardcoded letterboxes, so instead of perfectly fitting my 21:9 ultrawide monitor, there are huge black boxes surrounding the video. On top of all of this, there are long and terribly intrusive ads, in the service that you pay for. Double-dipping much?
Youtube, Netflix, Amazon Video are lightyears ahead of whatever it is Hulu is trying to be, because it certainly isn't a streaming service.
They are raising the price $10 a month! Are you kidding me! I have to restart my tv 4 or 5 times a day because the system gets stuck. When I call for tech support they tell me to reboot my modem. I shouldn't have to restart my modem 5 times a day. I only have one tv on at a time it's not like I have gaming and computers on in every room. At least cable was reliable! Probably going to switch back to cable at least I can watch an entire show without restarting my tv
You where the best. You chose the wrong path and have to die. Go out with a bang!
I had charges that I didn't make on my PayPal (which was my payment method for Hulu). I tried to log in to Hulu, but nothing was working. I called Hulu, and the guy acknowledged someone changed my email address associated with my Hulu account. MY account - but he refused to give me the email address. He refused to help other than close my account. They would not refund my stolen charges either. He told me to contact PayPal, and since I had previously authorized these charges, PayPal refused to reimburse me. I lost out, and Hulu sucks. Buyer beware!
We just recently got rid of cable and decided to give Hulu live a try. Far as I can tell it's a disaster. We had been paying 12 or $13 a month for the ad-free version of Hulu and, aside from the crappy interface, it was great. Now we are paying six times that and I'm constantly having to figure out how to get around all the ads. Wth?! We are seriously being ripped off.
They claim to have full seasons, they don't.
You pay a premium for advert free, they show 4 or more adverts.
Save your money and find an honest streaming service.
The latest Hulu's app or version is terrible and it's grid layout is a nightmare to navigate. Sometimes simpler is better. Could be a game changer for us. SAD
For me my service with Hulu was only OK, I've had more issues with simply watching it on my smart TV. While every other app via Wi-Fi is working fine my Hulu plus wouldn't load or it would stop and not reload. Technical assistance is to turn off TV, unplug from the wall, check Wi-Fi connection, wait 10 minutesplig back in, wait for tv to load which takes up to 5 more minutes. It is a pain for me especially because I have a non weight bearing foot injury and LCL tear on opposite leg. It works better on my phone but let's face it watching Hulu on a 50" or 5" which would you choose?
I'm with you, 50 is better so for now we will stick with Netflix with more reliable service.
I pay $65 a month for Hulu live without commercials. But they still put commercials in so much stuff and will not allow you to fast forward. I just tried to fast forward though a timeout in a game and it kicked me back 15 $#*!ing minutes without allowing me to find my spot again. They double dip with ads and you paying extra. They allow just enough ad free to try to justify it. The only reason I don't go to dish is the contact but when I get to a house I plan on staying in you can bet your $#*! I'm ditching Hulu.
Seriously same ads every few minutes! I'm about to cancel my membership because this is driving me nuts!
I started out not paying for the ad-on for ad-free commercials but I gave in and and added no-ads for the extra $6.00. Ads went for 30 seconds to 90 seconds and now they are up to over 4 minutes. Seriously, how is that ad-free? I don't get it! Its not the end of the world but I pay $6 for no-ads and I'm not getting that Hulu? And I want to know why?
Please explain this!
After thousands of complaints about not being able to jump to live with firestick Hulu does nothing. I. Am. Done.
I wish that Hulu would stop running commercials each few minutes bashing the president. I haven't see any negative commercials against the democrats. Wonder how many Trump's supporters are unsubscribing from Hulu?
They have more ads than regular tv. Not worth it at all, you can't watch anything without an 90 second ad every 5 min. " new shows" ha. Hulu is trash and not worth it, trust me, you would be better off buying YouTube tv.
Hula was supposed to cancel my service but they continued to pull money out of my account at the bank. After talking to the support team on this issue 35 minutes he let me know hulu could not send me a refund because they cant mail a check. I had to close the account because of over drafts, hula kept on pulling out that was not accounted for. I asked the hula person if the company was so big that they could"nt drop a check in in the mail. Hulu has now refused to let me talk to a member of team lead or supervision. This is the worse company for service, I paid my bills, they continued to take money from me and let me know that was all they needed from me. By refusing to pay back what they owed me is really not a good business. I have to wonder how many other folks have had this same experience with them. I even told them I had to close my account because Hulu would not stop withdrawing money from my account. I'm a person living off of a monthly social security check, and they don't care that it caused my account to overdraw. I read the review guidelines, this is not meant to be hateful in any way but I do want to make it clear that higher level of staff refused to speak to me and the guy said thats all we can do for you.
We switched to Hulu because we stayed in a camper for a short time between closing on houses. We decided to never go back to regular cable. My husband and I love sports and there is never a shortage. For example, college football... Hulu plays even the smaller school games like Northern iowa vs South Dakota. For the base price, Hulu provides all the normal basic cable channels plus a few more for a good price. Since we didn't have good internet service while in the camper, we know that you don't need top speeds to watch Hulu. After approximately 6 months, I have no complaints. However, we have all newer smart TVs and use antennas as well so we can easily switch back and forth. Hulu does provide a couple local channels, but we like having the option of all local.
I've been a Hulu live customer for about 3 months. I'm very surprised how unreliable their service is. FREQUENT crashes especially when watching live sporting events. I'm ready to cancel and try someone else. It's like they don't have the technology completely figured out yet or that their servers are inadequate for all of their subscribers. I also don't appreciate Hulu acting like everything is okay by not publicly addressing customer's concerns. Everything is NOT okay.
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
