Hulu's reputation is marked by a diverse content library and the appeal of timely access to popular TV shows and movies, which many customers appreciate. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding technical performance, including frequent buffering, app freezes, and navigation difficulties, leading to frustration among users. Additionally, issues with customer service, such as unresponsive support and billing discrepancies, have been highlighted. The overall sentiment indicates that while Hulu offers valuable content, persistent operational problems and a growing dissatisfaction with ad frequency may push customers toward alternative streaming services.

I cancelled Hulu 4 months ago
They were billing me on 2 different credit cards
They continued to charge my credit cards Every month
I had to cancel my credit cards which adversely affected my credit score
And credit this is really upsetting and totally not acceptable.
I was having trouble accessing Hulu Live TV on my home television. I followed all the online instructions, but finally resorted to calling their customer service number shown on the TV website. The phone only reached a busy number. After about 8 such calls, I was offered a call back by a service rep. I accepted. Little did I know this was a fraudster. The man who returned my call asked to access my home computer so he could get me signed onto Hulu's Live TV. Believing this was a legitimate customer service representative, I allowed it. He took control of my computer, then put up a black screen that simply said "Help". I now believe this was so I could not see what he was doing. He then asked for access to my mobile phone so he could add Hulu to that. Although I resisted, he talked me into it as it was easier now than trying to call back. He then asked for my complete Discover credit card information as that was what I was using to pay for Hulu service. I was getting weirded out now and expressed my concern, but the man reassured me he was only trying to help. At one point I saw a brief flash of what seemed like my Amazon payment information. Then I got two text messages from my bank notifying me of possible breaches. Those messages disappeared from my phone before I could click on them - poof! Now internal alarms were clearly clanging. I disconnected my phone and shut down my computer. Soon I checked with Amazon, Discover and my bank. Sadly I found illegal transactions with all three. I have changed passwords, cancelled my credit card and had to open a new bank account. Of course that means all my other business dealings have to be notified of the changes. I am so mad at Hulu, but can reach no human in customer service to complain to. All I get are busy signals. Never, never trust this company or its representatives! Never give anyone access to your computer or phone even when they are supposed to be sanctioned representatives.
I used to love Hulu you have nothing but old reruns on no new movies. Interface is terrible go back to your old and her face this is awful. I'm seriously getting ready to drop Hulu.
I object to adverts that say Black Lives Matter! My life matters and so do all people of different colours religion etc how disrespectful to be preached by HULU on whos life are more important STAY OUT OF POLITICS; your add is racist; - the meaning of Racist; a person who shows or feels discrimination or prejudice against people of other races, or who believes that a particular race is superior to another. ALL LIVES MATTER
I love hulu, this is the best service, 5 stars to customer care, they have best professional Executives, they solve any issues in sec. Thanks huhu

Forget about the annoying ads. I get it, they have to make money. My issues with Hulu are that it's not user friendly, doesn't offer intuitive navigation and the layout is clunky at best! Haven't the developers tried Netflix and prime? How do they not offer restart episode? Why is it so hard to see what episodes you've watched and go to specific episodes? For the love of God why does it take so long to log in and get started? It's like the developers don't actually use the app or it would be much easier! If the Handmaids Tale was available literally ANYWHERE ELSE I would cancel my subscription. I hate Hulu so much.
Normal cable doesn't cost much more and with Dvr you have the option to fast forward through ads of shows you've recorded. Hulu is too greedy for that and even if you for example
Start a show over or even rewind it a bit you HAVE to watch the ads over again. Pissed me off so much it's not worth it to me.
I tried Hulu for the 2nd time because they sent me a promotional email stating "(MY NAME), Check Out What's New in June
Your favorite day of the month is here. That's rightnew shows and movies just dropped, and June is on fire. Don't miss out. Sign up today for your one-month free trial."
"One month free trial only available by
Clicking through this e-mail. See terms below.
One month free trial offer valid for Hulu (ad-supported) or Hulu (No Ads) plans only. Offer valid for new and eligible returning subscribers only. After free trial ends subscription fees apply starting at $5.99/mo unless canceled. Cancel anytime. Terms apply."
The reason why I thought that I was an "eligible returning customer" is that it addressed me by my first name. If it had said "Dear customer, you MAY qualify for a one month free trial, click here to check your status" or something like that, then this review would not have been written.
After I discovered I was charged for the month I thought was free, I called their customer disservice line and sat on hold for 15 minutes. The agent that answered would not let me get more than 8 words out of my mouth before she interrupted me to tell me how wrong I was to expect a free month (a 2nd time). After the 3rd interruption, she said that she would refund my $$ and cancel my account. Their advertising email software should be sophisticated enough to differentiate between previous customers and new customers that qualify for a free trial month. It is 2020, after all. Although this experience ended up ok as far as the monetary expense is concerned, it soured me on ever trying Hulu again. Not worth the BS. There are many other options for streaming.
Get current content. Movies that are decades old. B reated movies. Multiple movies in the same line up. Just a complete waste of time. Shut hulu down and come up with another business plan. Sad to see a company charge for such garbage. You will be a thing of the past in tow to three years if not sooner. Waste on time and money.
I see that they have a for black people shows and movies you don't see it saying for white people shows and movies your putting a color for people and that I find racist and discriminating it's racist
I've never had issues with Netflix. Hulu has you login back and forth between two TV's non stop. Then, I save my password and it makes me reset constantly between each TV and retype and reset every time! If you don't have high blood pressure, you will if you sign up with Hulu! Worst wait for customer service too! Lol not worth the money I'll go elsewhere since so many streaming channels available!
I signed up for Spotify which offered Hulu add on demand for free as a perk. Upgraded to Hulu live. Terrible service. Lips and speech always off sync. Canceled Hulu Live. Asked to be returned to Hulu perk as part of my Spotify. They refused saying when I upgraded to Hulu Live I forever lost my Spotify perk! How unfair and stupid from a business model I'd that! Avoid Hulu on demand or live at all costs!
Hulu is having an issue with some subscribers using their chromecast. They haven't corrected the issue yet and their is no eta. Since app was purchased thru Apple, they can't credit me for a service that I currently can not use. Doesn't make much sense to me. Either find a way to credit me or fix the issue. This has been on going for weeks now.
So I've had hulu for about a year. I could put up with having to call them occasionally to find out how to reset everything, which I now have written down in case I need to again. Annoying but that's how that goes. But what takes the cake is them suddenly cancelling my tv subscription for no reason at all. It's all been paid, there was no reason for this. Contacted them and still no better. They'll probably try to keep charging while giving me nothing, we'll have to see. Who knows how many times I'll have to call them to try to get this fixed. Completely incompetent. I've never had any tv company do this. Worthless company that just wants to rip you off and give you nothing. This is how they treat loyal customers.
I dont want my daughter seeing these disgusting LGBT tranny commercials. Not only is it wrong and gross but to put things like this in a childs head is in my opinion wrong on so many levels.
I refuse to have my money go to a company that panders to liberal ideology.
The funds of my hulu card went right down the drain by my few mis-clicks i guess on their website... thank god i didnt use a real credit card... you dont need this stuff. Try plutotv or youtube-free
It's the worst streaming service, they make lots of money with commercials and still can't get their site working without any problems. I've had like 5 problems with Netflix in the 100 years I've been a member. Hulu I have problems every single time I watch a show.
In the short time I had Hulu, which is about 5 months, the one thing that drives me nuts is the ads. Feel like I am watching regular tv. And then after each ad and the movie or show comes back on, the words do not match the persons lips. You have to stop and restart the program in order for it to be back in sync. Very frustrating. Then they want you to pay more money to have the option of less to no ads. This is why I will forever be loyal to Netflix. Have been paying the same rates for years, with absolutely no ads and ultimate streaming. They did it first and still killing the game. Only have Hulu because certain shows and networks pick and choose who will have access to their shows based on contracts.
Subscribed to Hulu (no ads) and HBO, the shows I watched still had ads and hulu forced me to subscribe to location services being turned on. SO disappointed, no wonder netflix is the main streaming service. Cant even get help directly from hulu, they're "chat robot" cant understand any messages sent to resolve these issues. 0 stars if i could.
I pay for Directv. I don't need Hulu other than Directv removed all of the on demand content of past episodes and now Hulu has those rights. If I want to watch reruns of anything I either have to record it on my Directv genie and never delete it, or pay for Hulu. Well now Hulu wants me to sign up for their Hulu+TV just to watch certain shows. 100% will never ever pay Hulu a dime again. You're just effing with consumers to get every last dime from us. Later Hulu.
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
