So Far Okay

Hoveround seems to be living up to there word. I got through the interview with the doctor and it seemed to go in my favor. Big questions is medicare approval and I am low income and how soon that paperwork is completed to qualify me for payment on the 20% I can not afford. I will reserve my final say then.

Above and beyond

I called to see if hoveround got my drs prescription and wow they explained what was needed and even got my drs on the phone
Doing all they can to make sure I can get my scout scooter
I really felt that I'm in great hands with hoveround

No Support!

The chair is okay. The support after sale does NOT exist. They are happy to send you parts and pray that solves your problem. If not, you're stuck with that expense and still no technician to come help you. I'm 64 years old. It was suggested that I lift the front wheels up and run the motor to see if I could give them more info. Excuse me? I'm supposed to lift the chair? I'm supposed to buy $145 of parts and pray that works? If you don't have a tech living with you, fixing a Hoveround is up to you. Stay away from these people like the plague. If you buy one of their chairs, you are buying into being a wheelchair technician. They do not care once the sale is made.

Return policy
November 6, 2020

Read the return policy if you purchase one of these. Since I have bought one I have seen a bunch of these products for sale saying hardly been used, nearly new. You get completely screwed if you want to send it back.
A 25% restocking fee will apply to all authorized returns made within 15 calendar days from date of delivery.
Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs if order is cancelled or returned. See Cancelled Orders Policy. Return shipping is a bunch of money.

We purchased a power chair as it size is more easily accessible into the handicap van we own. Unfortunately tie down bars, used to secure the chair once inside the van, are not standard equipment so we ordered them extra. At the time of order we were told the bars were in inventory and the technician would be back in one week to install the bars. It has been more than one month and they still cannot tell us when the bars will be installed. The chair is absolutely no value if we cannot use it in the van. I would not recommend Hoveround.

I would get a zero if possible

I would get a zero if possible! Very helpful while selling the chair to us. However, when we had a problem less than 2 weeks after receiving the chair I incurred long wait times and VERY poor customer service.

Great service

From the time I called hoveround took care of the entire process from going through my insurance, measuring my home and delivery of the chair. Process took less than two months from the first call. My insurance covered everything and the process was painless. The delivery person for my state was fantastic. Very nice person who treats people well. Chair works fantastic so far. I'd definitely give this company a try.

I have been combing the web for a wheelchair for my mom and came across the Hoveround. At first viewing it seemed like a good fit for her and I liked that it doesn't have that wheelchair look. The light grey would not stand out so much in a house that is light in color. I called the company to ask some questions and the person on the other line was very helpful, only I could detect a little strain in her voice. I then did further research and came upon a site showing reviews of former employees of the company and was disgusted by what I read. I really want to support American made products and was happy to see that they are made in the USA. But having said that apparently the company treats it's employees rather poorly. I know that I am only one person, but based on what I saw, I have decided to go elsewhere. There is no need for this kind of treatment, when you will get so much more out of people when you treat them like part of a team.

Satisfied/Disappointed

Very pleased with the chair until I am told that my Honda HR-V will not hold the chair. Although my husband needs the chair he was looking forward to finally being able to see his grandson play soccer. He can not walk that far and I can not push him in a manual wheelchair. This really limits all going to any place that requires walking. If I can get to the door with my car, that pretty much limits all outings. I do not have a bigger car nor can I afford one.

Customer service is absolutely terrible!

The customer service for Hoveround is the worst that I've experienced! They nickel and dime you for every little thing, and they sent us the same cup holder three times and charged us. Then they sent us to three different departments saying that it wasn't their mistake. They sent us a shipping label and picked it up and then delivered it to us again for days later. It's so sad that they would take advantage of the elderly. If I wasn't helping my dad, he would be getting extra charges. Do not waste your time with this company!

I used to be a spokesman for my Hoveround chair. I even tried convincing 2 people to buy a Hoveround. Now my views have changed due to a service problem. My batteries needed replacement a month ago and I am still waiting. First it was blamed on the storm in Florida (I understood) then my order was sent to another person in a different state. After calling 4 times, each time waiting a least 30 minutes to get through, I was told they ran out of parts for the chair. I pleaded with them to send just the batteries so I could at least use the chair. They told me they could not split the order so now in the fifth week I am still waiting. There was no attempt to try to help me despite my handicapped status. If I ever need a new chair I will definitely consider a new company.

Doctors office problem

I had problems with the doctors office completing forms that were needed for the process. Hoveround call the office and help handle the problem. I am waiting on an answer now if my father was approve or not.

As far as the chair itself

You make a pretty good power wheelchair but the seats aren't very comfortable. The front solid rubber tires aren't worth a crap on any surface either they tear it up or they just spin but you already know this. Batteries could hold the charge a lot longer like they used to. Price goes up quality goes down. But overall you still make a good cheer for the money.

My father purchased a hover round in 2016. The chair is supposed to be warranted for a year but as we found out after waiting on hold for an hour this does not include the battery. This is on top of the questionable practice of leading him to believe that the chair would be covered by Medicare when it was not.

Not too pleased!

My mom has had her power hoveround wheelchair for approximately 2 years now. After 1 year, already had to have a new battery. Now another year later (2 years of owning chair), it now needs a "power stick" to the tune of $900! This chair is mainly used indoors, so is not exposed to the outdoors much. Expensive and inconvenient ride!

Excellent experience. Very satisfying. The whole process was fast and hassle free. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Mobility made easy without myself making much efforts except getting physical examination done by my doctor and making a few calls.

Hoveround eh?

Hoveround eh? Well its more like "run around" when they need service. The company people are nice but can never get anything done except billing on time. Multiple repairs over 5 years and the dealing with HoverRunAround and the insurance company is unbelievable. If you want an exercise in patience or need a way to get your blood pressure up just talk to them about service needs. Prices are incredibly high and while they are very pleasant to deal with they still tell you no. Then when finally service is scheduled the repair people set their own darn routes and days. Avoid this HoverRunAround company like the plague. Any other scooter must be better!

Bought used 5 years ago

Hav found chair to be fairly dependable. Batteries last about a year. Go to battery store and get Delco or similar. They will warranty for at least a year. There is really not much to these chairs. 2 batteries, 2 drive motors, controller and frame/seat. Have had some luck sourcing parts on Craigslist or eBay. Lot less expensive than list. Like any vehicle they need maintenance and cleaning. Latest issue is flashing controller lights indicating limit switch on drive motor not making when in drive position. Wiring diagrams are nonexistent but will figure out which wires go to limit switch in motor and probably jumper out. Overall have been satisfied with product but company sounds more like a Medicare scam.
