Useless, avoid it a all cost. If in south africa better use domainnames.co.za to optain your domains. Godaddy's team is as useless and the company itself. I have my website down for 12 days and i keep being told to wait 48hrs eachtime. As you can see your complaint means nothing. They dont even deserveone star
Horrible did not get a refund after the site they built for me was no good. It did not function. SCAM stay away... it cost me over 600 and got NOTHING for the money and no refund and charged for nothing. I never got my money back stay away stay away stay away.
Definite Scam company now...
On 11/11/2023 I bought a domain with.co extension. It was an appealing and brandable name. After buying the domian I pointed that domain to my shopify store. Due to some uncertain reasons I wasn't able to complete my store. But today 11/28/2023 when I tried to access my site, I wasn't able to access my admin panel. Upon investigating i found that on 11/27/2023 Godaddy have cancelled the domain from my account and put it up for an auctions. Stay away...
Customer service is horrible. I canceled my subscription 5 months ago and they keep charging me. I have called for months now, spent over 20 hrs on hold waiting and can't get anything done. They say they will have the dept call me back and they never do. I ask for a manager and they are never available, say will have one call me back, but never get the call. Stay away from this horrible company. I have called 8 times now and still can't get this handled.
So, to update my last review from 3/31/2019, a lady by the name of Jenny asked on April 2nd that I reach out to her. I have sent 2 emails, and still haven't heard from her. I am now not able to get my accounting reports for taxes unless I pay them $60. Fortunately, Shopify is assisting businesses by offering 90 days for free so I am rebuilding my website. Customers have rallied around me and various business owners in Facebook groups have been supportive in offering help which I do not need at the time. But it just goes to show, the old saying "Real friends are the ones running in when everyone else is running out" can apply to businesses as well. I started with GoDaddy 3 years ago for my accounting. I then moved my service over to Godaddy. I now have 6 domains, I had a website, and my accounting. When the pandemic was declared, I decided to see if GoDaddy was offering any deferment to help for small businesses. When I called, they looked into it and said they could give me 50% off the amount due which I was grateful for. The next morning when I went to pay I didn't see it there. So I contacted them. They said they could only give me $5 off. The 50% promo was over. They said. I was beside myself. I wasn't paying until someone would just review the matter and explain to me why this was happening. It seemed cruel. Every day, news was worse about virus. But life goes on. Finally I get the money to pay for my account and just be done with it. A cousin died 2 hours away in New Orleans from the virus so I am too tired to fight about it. The website was cancelled. They said it would be $60 to restore. I had never been late. Less than 3 weeks past due, and they completely broke their promise, made no effort to help, and caused me to lose my website that I spent 2 weeks rebuilding. They may have very well cost me my business. See for yourself how they care. They don't. Not because they didn't discount but because they didn't keep their word, and would not work with me over their mistake not mine. No clear communication, but quick to keep making my problem worse. It went from a $30 bill they said they would take 50% off of, then recanted that stating it was now a promo. Then in less than 3 weeks, let it cancel and the bill is now $90. That's the way they handled the matter for me during this pandemic. It may not seem like a lot of money but it was enough and the principle was much larger.
GoDaddy has hosted our website for more than 20 years. In the last 12-18 months I've seen a big decline in the level of customer service or resolve problems that arise. Now it's always the customers fault and they are more keyed into selling you a new service than fixing the problems the create.
Here's my issue: We pay a premium whereas GoDaddy hosts our website, provides and maintains security, backups, WordPress platform, and with that are required "plugins" which guide and control the website functionality, all furnished and maintained by GoDaddy. Every few weeks as an admin, we log into our website "through GoDaddy" to update plugin software when needed... usually update all automatically.
We did this on 12-18-23 and after doing so our ability to make web edits stopped and we get an error message. After conversations with GoDaddy web tech support 12-18 and again 12-19, support techs say we have a "Bad" plugin installed and it is our (mine) responsibility to troubleshoot and repair. Lastly, saying they can do this repair for us if we upgrade to another package and pay another fee. WHAT-SERIOUSLY? A customer for all these years, GoDaddy hosts our website, GoDaddy provides Wordpress, GoDaddy provides the plugin software updates controlling the website functionality, GoDaddy has in the past maintained this and now it's broke and want a fee to fix.
Our webmaster took our site over in 2017 and then they advised me to move stating they are not what they once were... you need to move. Our w-master seeing what I've written above was not one bit surprised and says... MOVE, I've been telling you.
Upon starting a business, I was stumped with how to create a website. Go Daddy started off as simple, but each time I thought I made progress, they charged me more money. I'd spend hours "chatting" with people on their chat feature, only to be disconnected over and over by them. It has now been four months and I have yet to publish my website because of their lack of customer support. DO NOT USE GO DADDY!
I am running a property company and GoDaddy have migrated our website in February 2022 without informing us and completely messed it up. Not only did we no longer have any files whatsoever on the life site and were consequently offline but on top of that they also lost all our backups (!).
It is utterly and truly unbelievable and if it did not happen to us I would not have believed a review that stated the above. We were offline for 6 full working day and lost thousands of pounds. It has been a complete an utter nightmare. In total our losses are close to 12-15k
GoDaddys mindblowing incompentence was only surpassed by the utter incompetence of 9 successive operators that I spoke to. Hours and hours of stress as we had to rewrite part of our website from over a year ago and consequently had to pay for all of this too.
We are still seeking legal advice to help us sue GoDaddy.
Try ANYbody but not GoDaddy.
Customer service is terrible. Everyone tells you something different so they are not training their employees properly. I just say go with another site for web hosting etc. I've had terrible experiences. My site was down for 48hrs and for 3 months they couldn't figure out why my site wouldn't accept paypal. And they are the experts? They allow paypal as part of their checkout process. No one ever got back to me and I was sick of calling. I must have called every days for weeks!
I use godaddy for most of my internet domain purchases... Yes, it was because back in the day they had that hot model advertising for them and they were cheap. Here is the deal, they will spam you, they will spam you and they will spam you. And, then they will try and upsell you to the moon. If you can get past that, they have great deals and their domain auction system really works. I have made thousands by buying domain names online and then selling them through their auction service which reaches millions. If you are just trying to register a domain name and have no other interest in participating in auctions, then there are plenty of other sites out there that can do this for you.
I choose the domain which was broker service i paid 272 aed the i want to use that so showing transfer to the main account so thats also charged me 43 aed and the domain still not get the domain so i sent email and told the if not giving my domain then why charged me refund my payment so the sent email and saying we will refund 272 dirhams and paid total 272 plus transfer 43 aed and even i need my domain how could they do like this with customers if someone bought the domain so they transfer straight his account they did very bad with me even my account now showing no domain after all changes you can see in the attachments
Very helpful in the beginning, guided me through three products over a month or so to try to meet some very basic needs.
Each time the product was changed I was not told whether the 30 days was extended or remained as it was, only that throughout the support I was receiving I would be able to get a refund if it didnt work out. Unfortunately this doesnt make any difference to the terms and conditions! The goodwill only lasts as long as I am spending my money. I was naïve to think otherwise - Ill have to be more careful in future!
Customer service RUDE! Website data was deleted by GoDaddy. Irresponsible and wreckless company!
This happened 10 years ago. Someone is attemting to access my old account. Contacted GoDaddy and representative was rude and hung up! Same treatment I received before. If you do businesss with GoDaddy you are at risk of your personal data being compromised! They DON'T CARE!
Godaddy domain auctions are rigged in favor of the seller. After you put in a bid (which binds you as a buyer), the seller can use that bid as a guaranteed minimum to start an auction to seek higher bids. All you do is put the domain into play and help the seller adverise it. Avoid!
After ten days the domain you purchase turns into a xxx.godaddysites.com domain. You have to pay more to use the domain. So, I might be the only person who misunderstands, but YOU ONLY GET THE DOMAIN - zero ability to access it. And Go Daddy acts like it's completely beyond their capability to refund your purchase. Horrible service.
After GoDaddy move the Webmail to Microsoft office 365, it became a mess, I'm not able to send emails anymore without delete the old accounts and If I delete I will loose everything.
I've been trying to contact customer service but they don't resolve my issues after hours on hold.
I wanted to share my business on Godaddy because everyone said it was a good way to start. I didn't realize that this business is full of thieves. A few weeks ago I was charged 299 dollars for one. I called and asked if I could go on a monthly plan and get a partial refund. They gave it to me, BUT they charged me the same day the same amount as before. I asked for a refund for the second charge. They told me that they only charged me once. I showed them the evidence, they continued to deny the charges.
Looking through my statement again today, I noticed that they charged me 3 TIMES in a week and a half. I threatened to discontinue my website unless they gave me my money back, but they aren't budging.
I tried purchasing a domain and web hosting space from www.godaddy.com, the order didnt go thru & the money got deducted frm my CC, I had to go for a legal fight with them to get my money back and it took over 2 months for the same, pathetic customer service & poor responses is all you get from them.
I had a bad experience with godaddy, I was searching a domain which does not cost much and I plan to setup website on it but guess what the next day I check the domain again on godaddy the price are very high even it become premium domain within one night!
