My daughter broke her finger by slamming it in the car door while going into the movie. We had ten minutes until movie time. We rushed our daughter to the ER instead of calling fandango of course. While in the ER, I called customer service and they said that no refund or credit could be issued since it was passed the movie start time. Ridiculous….I'll never use this service again and will do my best to ensure nobody else does.
My son bought tickets for himself and his friends. $48. The tickets never got to him. Fandango refused to refund the money. When I called the person said they did not have a supervisor. This is a horrible company. I would strongly recommend buying tickets through the theater site. That's what we do now.
My niece purchased 5 tickets and was charged $1.25 each. The ticket office was closed because they were short staffed per the Theater Manager. She had to stand in the concession stand line and wait behind those purchasing tickets, popcorn, soda, candy. She was denied her request for a refund of $6.25 from Fandango for the inconvenience. They don't care about customer service
We supposedly had a "free" movie code to try fandango. Put in our code... did not work. Tried 3 different times... nothing. Tried calling customer support, waited on phone over 10 mins... nothing! What a waste of time
Received this as a gift, would never purchase. Gift card code does not work, contacted support almost a month ago and still have an unresolved issue. All they tell me to do is wait and transfer me around.
I bought tickets on fandango.com, ended up needing to change the movie time and went to request a refund on the website, it kept telling me there was an error and I cant refund my tickets. I called fandango and got put on hold for over 3 hours, requested a call back 3 different times and was number 77 to chat with an online agent that took hours. They ended up calling me at midnight. Unbelievable. I will never use fandango again, and you bet I will spread the word to everyone I know. Fandango figure your crap out. Total scam
For Seniors a movie is a treat. My wife and I decided to take our "young" 50+ year old friends to a movie. On the way going there one of our friends got sick, so we turned around and went home. Turns out you have to tell them in advance you won't be there. $45 to see nothing and no refund, no exchange. They even cut me off on live chat!
Will NEVER use their services again! Site chose my closest theater, turned out to be a theater an hour away! No option to review order, got stuck with tickets too far away to use. Customer service was a joke. Waited on hold 42 minutes, and they could care less what I had to say. Asked for a manager who didn't listen to me at all just interrupted and said they would not issue refund within 2 hours of movie. I would have been very happy to have an exchange for a closer theater. There was no customer service, no care to try to work with customers so that they might continue to use their company, they couldnt be bothered to even listen to me explain my problem with the site. Very disappointed and I hope others avoid making the same mistake I have made, the mistake of ever using Fandango!
I have used the Visa Signature 20% offer which saves a little bit of money. I have used the Fandango website more than a dozen times and I have never once had an uneventful transaction. The website either states that an unknown error has occurred or something else. Customer service is responsive but their website is really totally absolutely positively awful. I'd stay clear of it except to check movie times.
I have received promo codes for a free movie through fandango. For months I have tried to use the promo codes and it always gives me an error. I've called customer service multiple times and they say it should work fine but it never does. They will say things like, we were having problems with out system, clear out your cookies, use a different browser. None of these work... however, if I want to pay with my credit card it goes through. It's only when I use promo codes. Total scam!
We had booked tickets through Fandango for Avatar at our local Imax but when we arrived at the theater they had cancelled all show that day due to problems with equipment. The manager advised that all tickets pre-purchased had been refunded. After a couple of days there was no credit showing from Fandango so i contacted customer services. After 80 minutes waiting on a chat I was told that no refund was coming and that a supervisor would have to contact the theater. Five days later we still have no refund so I was left with no option but to dispute the charges with my CC company.
Just went through a problem with Fandango. A few months ago, someone hacked into my Fandango account and bought tickets to a movie in a town hours away from my home. I contacted them afterwards, and I got a refund, but subsequently on several occasions when I tried to buy tickets, I kept getting an "internal error", and was unable to complete the purchases. When I contacted customer service, they eventually told me because I contested the hacked charge, I was no longer wanted as a customer. Nice! After many years of using the service, get shown the door, even though I changed my password and deleted my payment information from the site so that could never possibly happen again. Stay away - no need to be a customer of a company that threats their customers like criminals.
I received a gift card and tried to purchase a movie online on my laptop. The giftcard kept reading invalid. I called and had horrible wait times and never got through. I decided to try it on my cell phone with the mobile app... it went right through. Don't know why/how... but for those who didn't try that. Try it and see if it works. Convenience fee, but NO convenience... esp if I still have to wait in the same line to show confirmation...#foolishness. Only beneficial if it's a movie that will be sold out because it guarantees your seat.
This website is absolutely pointless. I am not sure how they are still around but their non refundable convenience fee is laughable. I will never be using this service again and will spread the word of its absolutely ridiculous policies. Do better.
Fandango has a terrible website and app. Hardly ever connects and always has an error. On top of that, when it's "working", it's running horribly slow. I really wish it would work to make things easier, but it just doesn't. Fandango is a total let down.
Do not purchase gift cards or tickets through/for fandango. It is an utter waste of hard earned money. I purchased gift cards for family and the theatre will not accept them directly, so you have to order them online and will be charged a convenience fee.
Their app switches dates and times on you when you think you are getting the movie you want to see. They deny every claim and keep your money. Refuse to even exchange for another showing. Worst company I have ever dealt with.
I'll make sure I never buy tickets through Fandango again. I've never dealt with a more dishonest and untrustworthy business. When you call to try and replace your tickets they put you on a 2 HOUR hold and then proceed to tell you why they can't give you a refund aka they don't care about customer service and are all about profit. Once they've got you to buy something their work is done. Scammers, con-artists, schemers I'll take my business to atom tickets who seem more upfront and honest then these snakes
A few years ago Fandango seemed to work well. The last several times using it was frustrating and useless. Spent nearly an hour trying to buy 2 movie tickets. Never succeeded. Would not recognize seats reserved. Continued to get error message which does not identify the specific error. Asked for valid Loyalty Number, which it showed in box. I entered it anyway. Got same error message. Checked account info for Loyalty number. The correct one showed in box, however, it continued to ask for a valid number. Q&A does not answer questions. Repeated process several times with same results. Will no longer use this method of purchasing tickets. Easier to go to box office.

Fine print claims after a show has started a refund can not be granted. But if you can not reach someone, how can your claim be processed before the show.

Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
