This site is so bad I bet they loose millions in business every day. Their stupid software refused every credit card I have (only 2) and they are both totally good. It is truly crap.
I wish I could award a zero star.

It's a great app / way to purchase tickets unless you have an issue. They offer rewards but don't honor them. The chat service takes forever to answer even if first in que but once you make a purchase they can't modify it. Beware!

I paid $29 for 2 tickets to see "Noah" at the IMAX theater in Grand Blanc, MI. My companion came down with pneumonia and we were unable to go... I called the day before the showing. Fandango told me they would refund my money the next time I bought tickets from them (within a limited time)... I then spent another $19 for tickets to see 'Draft Day'. I called them about the refund. They then told me they were not going to refund my money, it was not their policy. This is the poorest and dishonest website I have ever dealt with. I am a big internet shopper, but this is the worst site I have ever heard of! Customer beware! Warn you friends and organizations about this rip off.

Fandango sucks, worst company ever. Useless website and customer service. I have a $25 gift card that the system tells me has a balance of $25 but the system will not process it. What a joke. On hold for 35 minutes and nobody and when i finally get an operator they accuse me of trying to doctor their website to get free tickets.

Absolute worst service ever. No refunds, no matter what. Completely f*'d up the opportunity for my boyfriend and me to see a movie even though I paid for it. Just because I accidentally ordered tickets to the wrong theater.

Got a $25 gift card from a friend, went to try to use it and no theatres in a 50 mile radius from me use Fandango! After multiple emails with customer service their solution was for me to go to my local theatres and complain that they dont use Fandango. Maybe if they had better business practices, like not selling gift cards in an area you cant redeem them, more theatres would go with them. What a scam!

I bought 2 gift cards and NEITHER ONE worked! I called customer service because the cards were paid in full and should be able to be redeemed, but I swear they must have 3 customer service reps for the whole company. Waited an incredible amount of time to speak to a real human, and so far nothing. I just feel robbed. Money wasted.

We rented a movie it never showed up but it took our money. We called and got the completely runaround! They act like this $5 movie will be coming out of their paycheck. Worst experience ever. We will not be using any of their services in the future. I recommend google play

I just wasted over an hour trying to buy a ticket on Fandango (both desktop and mobile app). I got one error code after another and the site kept crashing. It repeatedly told me to enter credit card info when it had been entered correctly. I was trying to redeem a $5.00 promotion code. It was so not worth it.

I purchased tickets to a movie on Fandango, but was stuck in terrible traffic on the way and would have been a half hour late so I called to see if I could get a refund. After 45 minutes on hold, a representative finally told me that they could not do anything because it was less than two hours before the movie. A supervisor also told me they could not issue a refund, even though the tickets were not used. Clearly they have the capacity to issue a refund in some cases, so what kind of company takes your money, but does not give a refund if the service is not used? This is unacceptable, bordering on fraud, & I will never use Fandango again.

My wife mistakenly ordered tickets for the wrong day, but did not realize the error until after the movie time/date she mistakenly purchased tickets for. She insists it was glitch in the system, which I see may be a common problem. Anyway, I called Fandango and took my request for an exchange up the ladder to corporate. They refused to give me an exchange and blamed my wife for the error, stating they gave her 2-3 times to confirm her order, the tickets were already sold, blah, blah, blah. In summary, this was one of the worst customer experiences I have had as a consumer. I strongly recommend avoiding Fandango at all costs. And as a tip, I did call the partner theater, AMC, and they agreed to honor my tickets on the day we planned on going. So AMC, you rock! Fandango, you should learn something from AMC.

Successfully applied THREE $10 giftcards to a purchase of three tickets, checkout page showed ~$11 and some change to be charged to my VISA. Authorized the payment, and went to watch the movie with my roommates. Come back to a confirmation email that says I am charged ~$41 and their $#*!ty customer service representative denies that it was their fault, and cannot apply giftcards after the purchase. No $#*! you can't apply giftcards after purchase, they were applied beforehand and were verified during checkout. The scam of a company would not refund me or do anything to mitigate this situation, they don't give a $#*! about customer service and who they scam.

Now I have a debit of $41 dollars in my bank account, and all 3 of the giftcards were thrown away since they were assumed used.

This purchase was made with one of my roommates next to me who can confirm the final price of ~$11 during checkout, this was not my human error.

Never Again

Took my money but gave no tickets and no refund. Purchased tickets using my phone. Never got the confirmation email. All I had was the Internet screen showing the scan code. When I pulled the screen up it logged me out before I could get it scanned. Was on hold for 35 min and then they told me I had to call 2 hours ahead. They are sorry for my frustration. But not sorry enough to keep a customer.

Stealing Business

As I saw the ratings and other reviews of fandango, I confirmed my thoughts about the business of this place. They steal people's money defining it as a service fee. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. I will never purchase tickets through the fandango website again! When the tickets are cancelled within a minute due to wrong date, they refund only the ticket money and not the "service fee". They don't care whether the customer is satisfied with the ticket purchase. Instead, they only aim for the "service fees" to run their business.

I got gift cards for Christmas... finally decided to use them today, got some error like bad code or expired then i check the balance using their site and the balance is the value on the front of the card. Called customer service, been on hold for 1 hr exactly. I'm going to hang up and ask my brother to never waste his money on these gift cards. I'm going to grind these up and never look back. I might even look into shorting this company if its publically traded.

Fast to take the money, and send confirmation number, BUT phone number not a active number, called the number they referred too, message was having trouble with lines, to call back,. They sent the 2 $25 gift cards via email and directions to print out. Only received the 2 out of $100 order.

Terrible

I purchased two tickets on regal cinemas app, after confirming the purchase I saw my tickets for few seconds, then the app jumped back to home page. My tickets were gone, no email, no text nothing. My PayPal account was however charged. I contacted regal they said I should contact fandango. I called fandango and they said they can ONLY give refunds 2 HOURS prior to Showtime. I bought the tickets 30 min before Showtime and they just took the money and gone. Terrible customer service. Piece of crap app.

Scandalous

Fandango used to be a great way to book a movie and seat in advance, but now they want to con us all by syphoning convenience fee charges out of us customers pockets! Useless and pointless Fandango VIP accounts who just want to steal money from us. Completely taboo and scandalous on Fandango. You should be ashamed of yourself for being greedy.

Wish I had read these reviews before I purchased tickets. The ticket I purchased could not be viewed once I was at the theater. I now believe it was deliberate. Horrible company. I tried emailing, and that was difficult and did not work, then sat through the online queue, just to be given their "policy" speech. I was not offered any sort of credit, did not offer any resolution at all. Customer NO service. Do NOT use them.

I went to order tickets to the theater near my house and they gave me tickets half way across America in Illinois. When getting my refund they did not refund the "convienece" fee of $4. Nothing about this was convenient. Never again
