The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Beware if you try it and are not pleased with the results, too bad you can not cancel your yearly subscription for any reason. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE all around
I've met my fair share of weirdos through online dating, so a friend of mine recommended maybe to try eharmony. She figured that because you had to pay for it and put more time into creating your bio, it would attract serious daters. Eharmony won't let you see any of your matches until you sign up for their membership, and the only options are 6 months, 1 year or 2 years. That should have been sign enough not to do it… Who wants to be searching for 2 years off the bat? Once you do sign up, the matches and general users of the site are HORRIBLE. I hate to even say this, but bottom of the barrel folks who have probably tried everything else and failed. Once you sign up, it's very difficult to cancel. They make you email or send a letter to their office. Still haven't received a response… it's been months. Also, if you don't cancel before your membership expires, it auto renews and it's not cheap. Do yourself a favour, DO NOT SIGN UP! This website may have been popular in 2000, but it's no longer relevant. The usability of the site and app are extremely poor, and the quality of matches is even worse.
Barely any men online for matches. The ones that are look like something out of the walking dead. Now for almost a month I have no been able to log in and the daiting site has done nothing about it. For 25 pound a month I am being robbed. But it doesn't matter as the site is awful. Please single men or woman stay well clear it's dodgy as hell saying that so are the men usually on these sites
I sign up with them and contacted three different members and the next day they all disappeared?! Or the don`t exist! On second day I tried to get my money back and still waiting, Just after two days of signing up
I believe all of the following to be entirely truthful and not driven by emotion:
I downloaded eHarmony and selected the one-month standard deal. There were hardly any women in my area (a suburb of Chicago). The deal I selected only granted access to basic information. I could only see one photo, their name, and some other miscellaneous info(hobbies, interests, etc.). I could not even message any of them. Because of this, I decided to cancel my subscription. The product was simply terrible.
Supposedly, subscription cancellation can ONLY be submitted via letter within ~3 business days. There is no cancellation button in the settings that I could find. This is unlike every other app subscription. I speculate that they have an unorthodox method of cancellation to mitigate the abundance of desired cancellations. I was reassured of this belief when I saw the abundance of one-star reviews.
Out of disinterest in writing a letter, I opted to take the one-month charge on the chin. I believe I deleted the app on the second day after installation. I interpreted the one-month charge as the price paid for the lesson that eHarmony was a bad app.
A few days later, eHarmony emailed me. They told me I owed them $402.75 for a year-long premium package. I neither chose that option nor got any premium benefits (i.e. Seeing multiple pictures, sending DMs, access to further profile information, etc.) When I got their fraudulent bill, I truly thought it was a scam, so I initially ignored it.
They emailed me again, I told them my story, and they insisted. I told them I refuse to pay $402.75 for standard access for an app I deleted before the trial period ended. They sent a collection agency after me to intimidate me. I did not change my mind. Now the collection agency is trying to entice me with discounted prices.
I am not personally offended by any of the poor workers who are just doing what they are told. I am not even insulted by the collection agency. They are just hired to do the bidding of eHarmony's bureaucrats, similar to me in my job. I am even willing to give the benefit of the doubt to eHarmony about the Premium package being a simple glitch. My fundamental frustration is with the scoundrels who will not even bother to add a cancellation button in the settings just like every other app.
TL;DR: There is no easy way to cancel the app if you do not like it, therefore do not buy it.
So I only used the app for 2 weeks and had a bad experience on a date. I requested a refund because I didn't use the app for the three months and eharmony basically offered me three additional months instead of a refund for at least the two months I didn't use the app. I have since closed my account and filed a dispute with my PayPal account hoping they can resolve the dispute. As a customer I feel you shouldn't be charged for something you didn't use. A month okay but three months. It's just not right. Their app is expensive and you still run into people that are fake and are just looking to take advantage of a woman.
I signed up for what I thought was a month, only to be billed over $200. Read the fine print. It is impossible to call them so I left an email explains my plight and they said no refunds. I am attractive, thin and realistic. I have had very little activity and believe there are a lot of bots there as literally no one responds. It's a scary place. I don't recommend it at all.
After a lengthy review process they ask you to sign up at a ridulous monthly rate and then charge six months minimum. I was cross-eyed after the review process and didn't pay attention. In two minutes of "joining" I wanted out. No way to filter for Asian women which I specifically wanted. I'm new at dating websites.
Vast majority of matches are 100 miles away, highly impractical for seniors. Don't waste your time and money. They are supposedly one of the highest rated at 9.9 but they probably rate themselves! Worst ripoff ever! Time for the Better Business Bureau to be informed.
Male bloggers everywhere are telling men to get off of dating apps. Men, just do it. If you are a decent person in general, just do it. This app's problems lied more in the type of people who were on there. I remember getting blocked by people who I never even sent messages to, I guess as a 'pre-strike' so I'd not attempt to speak to them. Then eHarmony has this childish way of telling you, you were blocked by making an announcement: "So and so says goodbye." It was the first time someone told me 'goodbye' I'd never spoken to. The culture felt like it was full of 'church people' who were socially inept. If you've got things going for you...can carry on conversation well face to face don't delve into this fiasco. Don't dumb yourself down to the level of the other members who are socially inept or the app itself, which caters to that type of behavior. The app and a lot of the folks on there are going nowhere in life. Be one who is going places.
The commercial with the two gay guys on the scooter is so funny and so gay.Those.guys could
N',t be more gay.A couple of fruits.Makes me want.to use any other site!
Eharmony holds itself out as a good dating site. I found it to be quite the opposite. Zoosk provided over 70 contacts. Eharmony less than 10!. Then Eharmony refused to cancel the contract. Beware of this site
Avoid using E Harmony at all costs!
I joined last year when they had an offer on, I think it was £60 for the year. I turned off the auto renewal as I always do as I don't agree with company's automatically renewing a service for a years time when it might not be required.
I have been bombarded with emails saying I now owe them £166.80 as i have renewed for another year and I need to make the payment before further action is taken. I've requested to speak to a real human to explain the situation but all I get is an auto generated email response and the customer service number doesn't even ring.
They have now passed my case onto a debt collection company who are now sending me emails. Tried to call them 5 times and left messages but so far no one has called me back. Disgusting companies ripping people off.
Fake profiles, deceptive practices, dishonest business practices, a disgusting company. Don't spend a cent here, they offer nothing and don't stand behind their worthless company.
Preying on Disable people and Hopeless Romantics. Site is a scam.
They are Liers. Please read the fine writing up the subscription. Scammed me out of 348.00.
They blur the picture before you sign. Brag about their success ratios. All are tricks to deceive you and squeeze money out of you. Only a few women are using this app, so I almost had no dates there over a course of 4 month. This is while in other apps I have several a week even if I use the free version. I asked them to return my money back as they provided no service and they refused.
This is not a competitively priced dating site. After 3 months I could not find a partner to match my criteria. They tell you to change your criteria to have a better chance of finding a match. Once you sign in with them you will not be able to cancel. Too many fake accounts of course. It was a waste of time and money for me.
I joined eharmony july 2022. Paid for 1 year premium $385. Decided to delete my profile and cancel my subscription a few months later and stopped receiving emails... until...
Last week (Sept 2023) i got an email saying my final payment failed. I said "huh", they said "oh yeah we auto renewed you and charged you $290 so far amd you owe us another $95" I said "no this is a mistake I canceled long ago, haven't used ANY of your services in many months, and am not interested in using them ever again" they said "were not refunding you anything, as a courtesy weve extended your membership until April 2024" I email appealed to the boss of eharmonys customer care dept. and was told "the decision is final no refunds given and no further correspondence will be issued". Who would steal from their customers like this?
I signed up for a yearly plan to pay by the month. I didnt care for the site and cancelled. I called them and they said their contract states, it only cancels the yearly renewal. Once you sign up for the site, even if you pay by the month, you cannot cancel the yearly subscription. I have to stay on another 11 months and pay $40 a month until my year is up. What a way to screw people. Normally after a trial or if you want to cancel the subscription they just cancel it and they dont take any more money. This site not recommended
Too many profiles who do not pay or have no photos. I signed up with a total $167 and paid on 4/5,5/5 and 6/6.
I tried to cancel and was told I could not cancel and now, my total for the year is $790.00. A COMPLETE scam... I have communicate with many emails at no avail. NEVER AGAIN EHARMONY
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
