Have heard a lot of concerns from friends and family members along with neighbors about clera's "warranty" so i would suggest doing some research before you buy. Also other sites like homestars appear to only print glowing perfect reviews, so take them with a giant grain of salt. ( hope Clera is paying them well) Seems Clera always trys and say poor reviews must be fake and they can never seem to find the names of poor reviews in their "data base"

I'll keep it simple. Ordered windows in May 2017. Said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to manufacture them. By November nothing. Contacted the salesman. He "forgot" to order them. Finally came in February. During the final days of installation the installer left the company. Told me the regional manager would take over. Never did. Two windows were left without outside casings open to the elements for another 7 months. Continually got the run around. Labor Day I sent all those involved a text stating that if the job wasn't competed that week I'd get a private contractor to finish the job, take them to court for the costs and summon them to appear as witness. Mentioned that they'd probably lose already scheduled work and their wages as a result. Got a phone call within the half hour to complete the unfinished work that week. Advice... stay away from these clowns.

Lifetime Warranty means absolutely nothing. Once they make a sale and have your money you will have a hard time getting a hold of them with any problems. We have had issues that have not been resolved for years. We have had to repair the drywall twice due to water leaking in causing cracking and bubbling. Twice we have had to paint the room. Drain plugs keep falling out.The first time they recaulk the bottom of the window starting in the middle of the window... who does that? Really! What a $#*!ty job. It didn't solve the cracking which required another patch job and paint the second time. Both front windows from Clera fog up in the winter months (especially when cooking dinner) causing condensation and mold. Funny the other 6 windows from a different company don't. Not even in the kitchen. After a lengthy wait and being ignored Shawn came over and made every excuse he could come up with. Typical from a salesperson. I was not impressed with the information given to us... disregarding any of our complaints. It was his company that did the crappy caulking job and I really don't care that the couplers were a different material... they are yellow and the window is white and he ignored everything. Why do we have a warranty. He then emailed a quote to either recap, replace the glass or replace the whole window at our cost. NOT happening. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Still waiting for the bug trap.

I was having issues with my sliding doors and Clera was a lifesaver. When I called with my problem the customer service was extremely helpful. I was able to have my sliding doors assessed and replaced quickly and I am very impressed by the quality of the doors. I recommend Clera's products and service!

I decided to leave my review here because I think it's where I can help the most. Firstly, I really didn't want to have to buy new windows because they're expensive and it's just another expenditure. What first attracted me to Clera Windows was that they made the windows they installed and were a true Canadian company. What made it possible for me to go forward is their pricing and financing options. Now, I have great windows and a lifte time warranty and the financing meant I could change my front door too. I am surprised to see some of the bad reviews as my experience was superb. I highly recommend John Gainham and his team.

Ordered all of our main floor windows to be redone in October 2017. We planned to have them installed in the fall to save on heating costs through the winter. As soon as the order was signed there was zero contact from the company on the progress of the windows. I continually had to call the salesperson that sold us the windows (Tom Crowley) to get any sort of update on how the windows were coming along and when they would be installed. He would tell us that they would be done in the factory and ready to be installed in 2-3 weeks. 4 months after the initial install date they were finally installed in the middle of March. Winter had come and gone. Absolutely zero customer service on the part of Clera Windows and our salesperson.

Once the windows were finished and ready to be installed, the contractors who installed the windows were very good to us. They installed them within the week in order to meet our deadline for an energy audit to get a rebate for the windows. The initial deadline for the rebate was in February, luckily we got a month extension or we would not have gotten the rebate.

I will never recommend Clera Windows to anyone.

Damages INSIDE the two panes of several windows, improperly installed bathroom window, no consultation with us beforehand about problem with install, damages in the house itself, promises broken, denial about what was said and promised, the two largest windows iimproperly finished, installation took more than twelve weeks after being told 6-8 weeks, draft from living room windows, this company takes your money and runs, no accountability whatsoever, take your business ANYWHERE but here!

My order consisted of 4 windows and 1 Garden Door. Total price paid was $8,420.00. Wrong size Garden door was $3,100.00! It has leaked since the day of installation, frost on interior, rain comes in through the bottom... screen does not slide, all screws have rusted and broken off. Very hard to open and close. I was completely ripped off. The "fix" was they came and glued a piece of felt where they thought most air was coming through... Stay away from this cheap garbage, they will not fix anything after the fact. I soon will start a twitter and social media campaign to warn as many people as I can. Cornwall Ontario is my location

Good until there is a warranty issue, then they don't stand behind their product. I have a bad draft from one window and mold growing inside. The salesman John says he does not know what is causing the problem but of course its not the window and no warranty. NOT SURPRISED. He then said if I didn't like his answer he could send someone else who will charge me $155.00 an hour to inspect it, HUH? Clera claims their employee "thoroughly" checked the window, but funny enough didnt even notice the window crank arm is broken... Update, they offered me a 10% discount on new windows ( windows that probably are marked up by at least 100%) They also asked me to take down this review! I replaced the window (not Clera's) and problem solved!

Actually got to talk to the V. P., 17 Aug 2018 and guess what they were here today 24 Aug to do the work that I have been waiting since May to get done. As I said in the first review, the installers do a good job and today was no exception, they we in fixed the problem and out in about 20 Min. That makes the 3 month wait for 20 min of work even more inappropriate. Because of the installers I have moved my star up one. Because of the 3 plus months response time, I still have my reservations about recommending the company.

Just to provide you with a bit of unpdate on my nightmare experience with Clera. I paid almost $20K for 19 new windows and they didn't provide me with the product I paid in full for and they refuse to take responsibility for their screw up and refuse to make it right. Now I have to take legal action to get the company and it's president to do the right think. Just adds further insult to injury. I live in the National Capital Region but I strongly believe no matter where you live in Ontario Clera will no deliver. I say this because my brother who lives in Scarborough purchased windows from Clera and they installed the wrong windows at his home at well. Evidently a trend. BEWARE!!!!!!!

Had a window installed a few years ago and had started leaking, also locking mechanism had broke. Couldn't find my warranty paperwork so I called Clera to see if there was anything that could be done. 3 weeks of calls and messages with no reply's. They only called after they received my poor review on the BBB website, promised to make everything good as long as I removed or changed my review. I agreed I would after they had taken care the issues with the window, Fernando assured me a installer would contact me and make arrangements to come out and fix the window, when the installer called he advised he was told to come out and caulk the window, where I advised him that the problem is not caulking that they had to remove the fascia and have a look inside which Fernando had agreed to do. The installer said he would have to talk to customer service and would be in touch. Well we have not heard back and we have no idea what is going on, I have left messages and still nothing. Absolutely terrible service, will never use them again and will definitely tell anyone looking for windows or doors to stay away from these guys.
