What a waste of money! I could have gotten that jail cell off a room for $100 less/ night. The pictures were misleading. The description was misleading. We would have had a better time if we had stayed home. Booking.com robbed us!
We were given a tiny cell with no view, just a walk way of random people looking into our window.
I'm not sure why this always happens to us. I imagine having a fancy drink on a roof top and I get a glass of sink water and a jail cell.
I regretted using booking.com and I never do it again. First of all they support the merchant not the customer. In my trip I tried to cancel few reservation but still fighting for the refund. In one area says call this number which is an international call and I had to buy a calling card to call yet I was on hold until my minutes run out. Cost me $20 for nothing. It looks good but when you are in a trouble, you are on your own.
I rented a car through one of their affiliates, rentalcars.com. When I got to the desk at Thrifty, they said the reservation had been cancelled weeks ago and they would not recognize my voucher. Booking.com simply refuses to acknowledge their mistake and reimburse my money. Nobody in customer service responds.
I am so sorry that I didn't look for reviews on booking before actually booking through them. What is being said here is all true. They are greedy, lack care for the customers who book through them, if there are issues they direct you to the homeowners rather than dealing with the issues. I stayed in an apartment booked through them that had bed bugs. One of my kids had an allergic reaction to the bites from them and these bites turned into blisters (thankfully not into an anaphylactic shock). I didn't realize what they were until later and they told me I should have taken pictures of the insects myself and that they "inspected" the property (meaning the owner looked at the matrices). I asked them if any treatment had even been applied for bed bugs in that rental and they had nothing. It's unbelievable and super frustrating. Will never use this site again.
We booked a room when we arrived the hotel was beyond unsafe and gross people shooting up in the stars ways the cops came several times to different rooms...our sink was leaking all over the floor amd was clogged. We checked out and when asked for a refund for the the remaining days they said we had to go to booking.com well we have been fighting with booking.com for day countless hrs and calls to get no where. Worst customer service will never use them again
I rented a car with insurance for my husband on Booking.com and when he got to his destination there was no record of his rental. My husband had to rent a car again so we paid for the car twice, and now our credit card is fighting with them to have the original Booking.com charge taken off (because there was no car resulting from that charge). I had printed out the section on what he'd need and he had all his documents in order to rent the car when he got to his destination. This is the first time we used Booking.com and it will be the last. BUYER BEWARE. There are plenty of other sites to purchase trips on. STAY AWAY from Booking.com.
They withdrew my money but I never got a confirmation email or Booking Number. Then one of my flights was cancel by the airline company. It is impossible to contact "booking.com". All their phone numbers do not work! They will NOT help you without a Booking Number! Very frustrating. I had to purchase another ticket, but not through booking.com.

Made an honest mistake by somehow booking the wrong dates for a weekend break.
Cancelled the dates 10 weeks prior to the booked dates and was refunded £10 from a £91 booking. Cancellation fee £81.
So be aware when things go wrong they don't give a $#*!, they just want your money.
The worst experience renting a car in Europe! I followed voucher instructions, went to pick-up location and called the agency number. After almost an hour of waiting and calling with no answer, I contacted the US Booking.com Customer Service which was helpless. I had no choice, rented the car through another agency and requested the refund.
After two months and several emails and calls, Booking come refunded only 25% of my payment!
For a service that was NEVER provided! Well, never again Booking.com!
I changed a reservation from May to April of this year. My card was still charged for the May stay and I have submitted the requested documentation 4 times and they keep giving me the same response, submit your documents. Either they don't know how to check their drop boxes or their system is broke-either way I won't be using them again and I travel every year. I've asked for a supervisor contact info and its the same thing...submit your documents...
Recently, I've made a reservation through Booking.com. There was a certain price throughout the reservation procedure, which almost tripled in fine print when I entered my credit card details, and I didn't see it. I wanted to cancel free of charge - minutes after placing the order! - but that's it, all in vain. They said it only depended on the host, which turned out to be a greedy liar playing tricks on me (when I finally decided not to cancel and check in, he changed the check-in date and matter-of-factly told me I would not be supposed to check in tomorrow. When I complained to Booking.com, they made him change it back, but then I asked them again to cancel and they still declined, even having understood what kind of a host they were dealing with. I felt like I fell a victim to some gang conspiring against me. Conclusion: client satisfaction means NOTHING to Booking.com!
I rented a place with my family, under the impression that they were renting a decent room, based on a false advertisement allowed by Booking.com. I tried to contact the owner to request the change, the cancellation, but it is not possible. There are contact details on the Booking.com website that no one answers. I tried to get at least a partial refund and booking.com is useless. TERRIBLE customer service, they only send automated excuses designed by the marketing department. Will avoid using them again.
Booking.com host hotel that provide false advertising, no toilet paper, & bedbugs. They would not provide refunds after spending with for years without complaint. Use another third party service NOT Booking.com.
Seriously don't use. The worst customer service I've ever experienced, even blatantly cutting you off so you have to go through the painful automated menu, several times.

Booking.com advertises "free cancellation on most stays" but the platform allows properties to display misleading fees during your search. I booked a stay with Vacasa through Booking.com, and was charged 574.97 CAD instead of the advertised 258 CAD due to misleading fees. When I requested a refund, it was denied and I was charged an additional 291 CAD cancellation fee. The worst part is that Booking.com refuses to take responsibility for what happens on their platform, and their customer service is nonexistent. Don't trust Booking.com to protect you from deceptive practices by their partner properties.
Please do not use this website, it's only when something goes wrong that you really find out what a company is like! Booked a hotel in London only to find that it was nothing short of a slum, contacted Booking.com minutes after we arrived to inform them that we could not stay here. I am still trying to get a refund.
Booking promised a free cancellation by a specified date. I cancelled a day before that and was informed "not to worry sir, I already cancelled" but they didn't. Now booking says they won't cancel without hotel agreeing but the hotel NEVER answers the phone for them or me. So it is a giant game!
I have plead with them and they talk over me, tell me I am a bad person that just needs to take it east. They tell me they have no supervisors for my unimportant problem. They tell me that I didn't cancel. A bunch of unprofessional people. Terrible customer service. Would never do business with again!
I will be pursuing further recourse against this company for their behavior. Companies like this should not exist.
I had some last minute travel plans cancellations due to my passport was expiring 3 days before 6 month requirement so JetBlue did not let me check in for the flight, when u book they don't charge the card but then the property send u email asking for payment in full 10 days before they don't tell u if u cancel even before your check in u will lose all the money you paid for reservations. But they won't give you money back be aware of that

I am unable to use their customer service website to leave a message regarding my promised (by the property) partial refund. It has been 28 days. They are blaming it on the property. I'm getting ready to dispute the charge because there is no reason it should take this long. When you go to booking.com/help, all it tells you is you don't have any messages but it will not let you write a new message. It takes 20 or so minutes to reach anyone by telephone since you cannot connect to live chat even though they claim to have it. When you reach someone, they are at a call center somewhere with a pretty thick and sometimes hard to understand accent, and they tell you they're waiting for an email from the property and it seems to me if I can't write them a message, probably the property also can't and that's why. And they expect you to finally give up and go away without a refund.
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.

When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
