Would not issue store credit for a gift I received from my daughter. I had the receipts and packaging slips. The Cherry Hill, NJ store would only issue a credit to my daughter and refused to give me a store credit because she didn't purchase a gift box with a gift receipt. Not a customer friendly policy - neither my daughter nor I will shop at Ann Taylor again.
Today I visited the Ann Taylor store at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, NC. I needed help selecting clothes for my niece's wedding in September. Lauren Wiseman, Store Manager and Maureen Mills, Co-Manager spent almost 2 hours pulling clothes, helping me try on items and giving professional feedback on choices of clothing. They were FANTASTIC! I left the store with clothes for the cocktail party, wedding and morning brunch. Everything was 50% off, so my receipt was just under $500. Amazing for such quality clothes!
Thank you ladies for your wonderful help!

It was my first time buying from Ann Taylor, and NEVER AGAIN! The photos on their website is too different from the real thing (see attached photos)! Quality is okayyy.
At least the fabric looks like it won't tear, even though I really don't want to keep this thing.
In the last 2 weeks, I placed 3 orders via their online store 2x and phone order 1x.
Out of the 6 items ordered, I received cancelation emails for 3 items within 6 to 36 hours (varied with each order).
I called Customer Service after the 2nd itme cancelation to inquire why this was happening.
Short answer: their inventory and website are not accurately synched, and with items that are low in stock, they allow orders to be places for inventory that no longer exists.
This leads to "surprise and disappointment" for the Customer. And I have never experienced this while shopping on other e-commerce websites.
50% of items I ordered were canceled after I ordered them.
I was looking late morning on Ann Taylor's website 8/28/22 and unfortunately i could not find a skirt suit on her website. Her website was frustrating. I'll look else where... sad
I used to be a HUGE Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft fan - however in the last few years I have noticed the quality slipping significantly and the whole 30 day return policy - even during the holidays - has been the nail in Ann Taylor's coffin for me. Way to treat your customers. Nordstrom and Costco know how to do return policies right. Take a cue or I'm afraid you'll be out of business sooner than you think - which is quite sad to me - but I'm totally over it.
Even in my 20s, I liked Ann Taylor's clean, kind of older looking style. I often shopped there for work clothes, cute loose flowy tops and light cardigans. It seems like the quality of the clothes have gone significantly downhill in the last couple of years. My last order from AnnTaylor.com went well, but the clothes themselves seemed to be more cheaply made and the fit wasn't quite right. The good news is that my mother doesn't seem to care as much as I did, so she was able to gain a couple of blouses for her wardrobe.
I have been a long time ann taylor and loft costomer until they screwed up their coupon code. I used a 40% coupon code and received an email confirmation of merchandises that I intended to order in the amount of $365. However, when they shipped my order, they sent me a different bill of the total charge of $609. I never authorized them to charge me that much and yet they still blindly charged me as if nothing happened. After calling customer service 3 times, I still have not received my refund, and now I am preparing for credit card dispute. What a dishonest business and a great way to lose a long time customer. I will NEVER return.
Referring to the Ann Taylor - Short Pump store in Richmond VA, I was not happy with the return policy. I tried to return a pair of pants after 45 days and they gave me a store credit which is absolutely fine since I took so long to return them.
What was completely unfair was that they only gave me the mark-down amount even though my receipt clearly stated I had paid full-price. I would understand if I didn't have a receipt and they had no way of knowing how much I paid, but if my receipt clearly stated that I paid $71 for the pants, only giving me $53 credit is basically stealing my money. That is not good business.
Also, the cashier who was waiting on me was on the phone with another employee at home asking why she hadn't shown up for work and arguing with her that she was on the schedule... all while ringing up my purchases. I couldn't even ask her a question, because she was on the phone. Very rude and unprofessional.
Very disappointed on AT has declined in recent years.
I waited on hold for a 1/2 hour as there was no way to return a gift online. After40 minutes on the phone trying to figure out how to exchange a gift I was told I could not exchange it. The only way it could be exchanged was if the person who purchased it exchanged it.
Poor organization
Can't verify inventory or even worse correct poor service
Customer service actually a order department cause no one there or their supervisors able or willing to help correct a bad experience

Sadly the tall women's clothing at AnnTaylor.com has declined in fabric quality, tailoring detail, and sizing. Often they are not adding extra length in the torso anymore.
Have bought from them some years ago as gifts. Went back, ordered $200 worth of items, and then get a red text error about paypal - no description of what's wrong just that the site has an issue processing right now.
Maybe it's a small issue, but in this era seems crazy. I contacted help and they told me I needed to call in, and obviously if i do that paypal is not an option. Bought elsewhere with paypal immediately before and after.
No faith in the company's website if they cant handle a paypal integration, Im not going to put my credit card on their site and I'm certainly not going to wait around for them to answer their phone. Also brings to attention that their standard shipping is 8 days!
Sorry - I'll buy elsewhere. At least I have a little clearer understanding about why traditional retailers are getting their clock cleaned. Loft - your competitors have set my expectations too high, and you currently aren't delivering.
I don't have a recent opinion of their clothing, and it's unlikely that I ever will.
Have been an Ann Taylor/Loft customer for many years. Have always loved their clothes. Sometime in the last 6 months problems started to crop up with online purchases and returns. Returns made within 30 days were not credited and often 3-4 weeks later an e-gift certificate would be issued instead of a refund because of their warehouse issues. Using e-certs has proven to be dicey as your cert will be charged for a purchase NOT actually made! You will find out 2 days later that they are sold out of the item... but guess what?... they do not return those funds to your e-cert and instead it seems that you have given them a gift of your hard earned monies. I have spent the past 4 days trying to fix their/my problems and have spoken to 2 of the RUDEST customer service reps, I have ever encountered (2 were slightly helpful but could not resolve the issue). I was just told by the last c. S rep who put me on mute, while I spoke to her that she would send a report on to her finance office... so they now have my money for over a month+ and can not resolve a simple issue. Will never shop here again and you should avoid Ann Taylor/Loft too. I can only think that they must be experiencing financial difficulties in order to explain their issues.
I visited the store in Southaven, MS on 10-12-20. I was not greeted by anyone nor was I assisted by anyone as I looked around at some of the selections. I have been a big Ann Taylor shopper until now. I regretfully noticed that when a white lady came in she got royal treatment "WELCOME TO OUR STORE!"
"IF YOU NEED HELP WITH ANYTHING AT ALL, JUST LET US KNOW?" I was so disgusted that I walked out! This is sad!
I have ordered merchandise from anntaylor.com on three occasions and each time I have received an email confirming that my order was received and is being processed. However, on all three occasions I have received additional emails - some have arrive several hours after my initial order, while others have arrived days later - These emails indicate that some of the items on my order are no longer available and consequently have been removed from my oder and I will not be receiving them after all!
I called their customer service to find out why this was happening so often and I was told that their system only updates ONÇE A DAY! How can this be happening with a company that charges over $100 for a simple pair of pants (made in China). With hundreds if people visiting their web site to make purchases - how can they have the audacity to only update their site once a day? Please be aware when you purchase products online from anntaylor.com as you will never know if they item is actually in stock. I will never purchase again from anntaylor.com at it seems that they are not willing to invest in a modern system that continually updates their inventory - similar to the system that many other online merchants have.
It; s OK as most clothing goes. Over priced and your paying for the bran name I have worked and bought a lot of Ann Taylor clothing a discount prices while working at Macy's
For me, buying jeans is sometimes a real challenge, because I have a disproportionate figure. It was in this store that I found the same perfect jeans for myself.
When I placed an order for one pair of pants, Ann Taylor hit my bank account 5 separate times for the same purchase amount leaving me with $1.26 in my bank account. I suspect if I had more funds in my checking account, they would have gone for much more. When I called Ann Taylor they told me that it was my mistake, that I must've left my shopping cart, or had an error on my end.
I had one submit and one confirmation email from Ann Taylor with the correct amount so I never thought to look for numerous duplicate charges to my bank account. I got off the phone with Ann Taylor feeling violated.
Ann Taylor's customer service told me they would not refund the 4 other single line item charges for 5 to 10 business days. They were rude, dismissive and nasty to me. My bank should have stopped the hit after hit after hit -- numerous identical charges, but they did not. They did, however, reverse the charges on Ann Taylor.
This conduct, on the part of Ann Taylor, constitutes fraud. I suspect they did this to thousands of online customers in order to finance a failing clothing business.
This is first time ordering from Ann Taylor Factory and definitely will be my last!
My situation: placed an order back in June with the understanding that my order maybe delayed due to COVID-19. Ok that was fine with me. Items shipped out from their facility a month later. The package was addressed to me but had the wrong order: I received another customer's order with billing invoice. I contacted customer service via text and received response an hour later. Customer Service agreed to resend me my order and issued label ("at no cost" to me they said. Lol) to ship back the Package to them. That same day, I received an email confirmation that my order has be shipped; 3 days later I received another email telling that item is no longer available. They didn't apply refund so I contacted them again.
This time I was asked if I wanted price adjustment when I especially asked for refund. They applied the wrong amount (75% less than what I paid) and argued back and forth until I got the correct amount in refund.
Answer: Look elsewhere. Your wedding is way too important to take a chance.
