I go local first and then Alibris. Looking for stitched signatures and a book that will be read by generations? I come here first. "Perfect Bind," crappy glue, and paper does not deserve the name, "book." Finding hardcover, stitched and bound, or glued to spine cloth tape... sure.

I received my order pretty fast. The cd works amazing. It definitely is a good deal buying dvds for the price and having it shipped within a few days. I would continue shopping for second hand dvds through this site.

Excellent experience except the delayed receipt. Is what it is. I always receive my Alibris order. I get that the sourcing may cause delays. Just order early without hard deadlines, and Alibris always comes through. We ARE typically dealing with hard-to-get titles, so order accordingly. Order accordingly in advance of your required receipt date. Alibris is a boutique source. Please respect that their craft of sourcing valuable books may take a little longer to receive your order. One star for the actual book - I ordered a book that said it was in "very good" condition but arrived in two pieces with the interior completely separate from the cover. Five stars for the response from the company who immediately refunded my money. Hence, 3 stars.
Found this hard-to-find Helen Hamlin book about Maine's Aroostook County at an extremely fair price & in great condition for a 66-year old book. Other sellers elsewhere had the book in much worse condition for much more at $1000+…. Mine was $15…so grateful for that price. Shipping was very fast & book arrived in a sturdy cardboard covering which held the double wrapped book inside…the last covering was silver wrapping paper—it felt just like getting a gift. Great service & very enjoyable book!

I like buying used books to reduce waste and generally my experience through ALIBRIS is good. For the first time, I received a Very Good book in slightly less than VG shape. The book was covered with something sticky. Looked like someone may have gotten some food or other gooey matter on the book while packaging it. Luckily, I was able to clean it off as I didn't want to deal with Return shipping.
I was looking for a book on a fairly niche subject and I found it at Alibris for the best price. It is in great condition. There were helpful reviews, too. The shipping took a tiny bit longer than expected, but it was worth the wait.

All in good order. I'm unsure why I'm being asked for this, even requiring me to submit 100 words! I ordered books. You fulfilled my order. Why must I submit a statement that you did your work as expected? If I had questions that you wouldn't fulfill expectations, I wouldn't have placed an order. If I have to complete one of these ridiculous reports of my experience every time I order something from Alibis, I'll find another source for my books. Thinking of 100 words to fulfill your requirements takes minutes away from my valuable time. Surely, there are enough words here. Thanks.
I got all the books eventually. When ordering 8 books, there was a lot of thought put into placing the order with as many books from one location as possible. Ultimately, 4 of them came individually from different locations than the one I ordered from. Also because one came from a half priced books right up the street - of which I looked for these books at and they said they didn't have any of them. Not an bad outcome, just an annoying and perhaps unnecessary process that didn't align with what was shown in-stock.
Apparently the seller was in the middle of moving states with their business and I never received a proper tracking number until almost 3 weeks after ordering my purchase and being notified it shipped. I waited an additional 2 and a half weeks before it finally arrived
Everything (Jack Grapes second level Method Writing book) arrived as described. It wasn't on my doorstep immediately like Amazon, but the last thing I want to do is support Amazon for obvious reasons. I can wait an extra day or two. Won't kill me.
This last purchase was a gift, and in no place on the page there is an explanation of how to do it... so I did it simply by changing my address to the recipient's address. We'll see how it works. But it might be wise to fix it and add a procedure for this.
One of the reasons I always choose Alibris is that for me as a non US customer, they are one of only few stores that offer international shipping also with reasonable prices, I also love their customer service, also most of their shipment is trackable even for international shipping. Book marked as shipped with no tracking information given. Several weeks went by and I attempted to follow up with the seller and Alibris. Alibris told me to just wait, and I never received a response from the actual seller. The book finally did arrive after I had given up on it. Not a great experience 🤷
