Zoosk has a rating of 2.3 stars from 3,541 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zoosk most frequently mention fake profiles, customer service and credit card. Zoosk ranks 35th among Dating sites.
See the same people over and over - no way of simply saying "Not interested" - only option is to "report" the other person.
Matches don't fit search specs 100%, eg. People without photos kept appearing in my search.
WAY too expensive for what it is - doesn't even come close to Match.
Too many problems to mention.
And it's the only thing I've signed up to recently, and since I deactivated my account I get at least 50 spam emails EVERY SINGLE DAY! They all mention zoosk or sex. Very annoying.
Don't Waste Your Time! Zoosk lures you in with their commercials, online banners, etc... letting you think that it's a FREE DATING SITE! IT MOST CERTAINLY IS NOT A FREE SITE... oh, it's Free to sign up and set up a profile... it's Free to browse the other profiles... It's even Free to send "Flirts" such as a "Wink"! But, that's the basis of it... because if anyone sends you an email, well in order to read that email, you are prompted to Subscribe! Quite Frankly, I think their advertising is very DECEPTIVE!
If you want a TRUE FREE DATING SITE... check out Plenty of Fish! That site is truly FREE and you can actually email back and forth without restrictions! They even allow you to chat with others! So again... if you want FREE... go to plentyoffish.com
I signed up for zoosk to just see what kind of questions they ask for a profile. I never paid, didn't like it, never contacted anybody, and finally found the cancel account.
That was over a year ago. No matter how many times they spam me (and I'm not even single, for several months now) on my yahoo account I click unsubscribe and it never happens.
I goto Zoosk.com and hit contact and fill out a form... and am never answered (until today I got an auto reply after cursing in the subject line: Take me, my pics, my info, everything the____ out of your databse).
I am seriously having heart pain over this. I would like to be violent with those who choose this spam-ology. Like I said, I did sign up, but before I was even done creating a profile I was like, "Not for me." They have never respected a "Leave me alone and lose my info request.
I'm hoping BBB will help (but it didn't with Zynga - which, notably, was also through FaceBook).
Scammers galore! DO NOT SUBSCRIBE or go anywhere near Zoosk. I have been contacted so many times by foreigners who pretend to be local. They usually want to chat with you on Yahoo. They are usually "out of the country" for a few weeks, are VERY complimentary with the honey, dear and only a one-woman man crap. DO not subscribe. RUN
These sites have many fake profiles submitted by employees, and they take pictures of other highly attractive people, and build too good to be true profiles
Then post them. It is done to give you a false sense hope that these people are real and you may have a chance with them. Try finding a real attractive person, give them a flirt at a unusual hour. 7:00 in the morning, or during the time when most people are sleeping, and see how fast the automatic respose comes back. That is how they hook you. "It's an automatic program!" Also there are Scammers allowed to be on these sites with fake profiles comming from overseas to prey on desperate, and convince them to send personal info, and even money. For a plane ticket, or even to help them with a dying child who needs money for a kidney.
"BULL CRAP!" If you use these sites always get to know where the local profiles are comming from, and ask what part of town they live on, or quiz them on locations. And be aware of bad grammer, or answers that don't make sense to to your questions."SCAMMER!" And one more thing. Would a really attractive person that looks as if they could pass for a model, and have a masters degree, no children, never been married, age 30. Be on a dating site. Hmmm "BULLLL CRAP!"
I THINK THEY STINK. THEY SENT A TEXT TO MY CELL PHONE WITH A PROMO CODE. I DO NOT BELONG TO ZOOSK AND THIS CAUSED A MAJOR TRUST ISSUE WITH MY WIFE AND I. IF I CAN SUE I WILL.
Good idea but there are too expensive and charge for everythig
And they should work more on their design
The same facebook dating you can get at facebooklove. Com
And its totaly free so why bother with zoosk
I met a guy on this Singles dating sitesite who came across as a nice person until he came to dinner one night and Stole my pills and then just kept asking for money. I gave him a total of $400.00. I felt sorry for him until I realized it was all a scam. He preys on older, single, lonely women. Is there anything I can do to get my money back. I am disabled and on disability. I don't make enough money to make ends meet. Can someone please help me.
A rippoff! Everthing that anyone has read so far has happened to me."scientific matching" with trolls or obvious scammers that don't even have a basic command of the language. And every one wants me to contact them thru other email carriers, yahoo, facebook etc. Zoosk won't get another $30.00 from me. I can't wait to experience the abortion of unsubscribing.
As a relectant member a Facebook and recently single again, I thought I'd give it a try. I immediately saw 2 women who I already knew personally. Within 5 minutes, I was contacted by a scamer who said that my words had "stirred her soul" = I reported her because I had not written anything yet! Isent in a postal money order instead of my credit card. My account was apparently activated. I then called the women I knew via cell phone and they said they had never even heard of Zoosk! I returned to the Zoosk website and saw that the photos and profiles were the same as the were 3 years ago when we met on a different site. Facebook is the only common denominator, we all know nothing is free, so how is facebook free? It s not free, we're all providing facebook with our personal lives. In the end, facebook will prove to be the ultimate culprit.
Zoosk.com is a joke and they charge to get the same thing that other places offer for free. Their I. T. stinks and they respond at a snails pace. They attempted to tell me that beacause I am over 50, I could not contact members between the age of 18-30, and then there scientific match sends crap of those that look like nursing ( over 60) home candidates. Save your money people, they attempteds to get me to saty by offering 2 weeks free, PHHHHAAAART! Gees I felt better after that as opposed to two free weeks of their crap!
I was really let down as a new "paying" user of Zoosk. The first two woman who tried to contact me were online Russian Dating scams who were posing on zoosk as locals to my city then trying to scam me online for money. The System has been very unreliable in access and use, and apparently there are no checks on validity of the subscribers.
I see what I believe to be several devious business tactics in the operation of zoosk sites. You keep getting pop-up messages all the time (even after paying for premium membership) which are trying to compile information from you for marketing purposes, such as demanding a Cell Phone number for some supposed service while moving between screens on the system.
As I tried to unsubscribe in disgust, I was first forced into a Marketing Survey that posed only questions which would be thought of as "Positive statistics" for Zoosk. As a network admin and web dev I find this very underhanded and distasteful in a business process. Zoosk also doesn't give you a obvious means of cancelling out of these Screens, hitting esc does nothing, as a user you have to guess that just clicking somewhere else on the web screen closes the scam pop-up zoosk marketing screens.
I noticed that after I cancelled my account I was informed that I would still have access to my account until the end of the month (term I had already paid for), however when I tried to access my account I noticed it had been disabled, the same account login name and password I used previously would no longer work. I also noticed that after trying to cancel my account, I was suddenly blasted with all sorts of emails from Zoosk about scientific matches and hits, which appeared to me to be an automated process by zoosk in an attempt to lure me back to it's paid services. The appearance that you are suddenly getting a "bunch" of responses and hits while at the same time being unable to access your account during this last month termination period, seems to me an attempt to frustrate a person back into purchasing the service. These are very disturbing business practices built into this web service from what I see as a Network Admin/Web person myself.
I purchased a membership to this site and have received numerous emails that do not fit any of my critea. Girls that look one way and do not have very good command of the English language. Also as others have posted they send you a message and then are listed as no longer a Zoosker. What's up with this? If you want to be a con you better be more clever than this. Don't waste your time or hard earned cash on this crap!
This website is rip off they take your money and then cancel your subscription early without a reason why. I paid 29.99 for a month and only used the site for two weeks and then the adminsitrator blocked me from the webiste. I want my money back. There is no phone number to where you can call to talk to someone. This company is useless. If anyone out there having problems with them. Please file a complaint with the better business bureau in Oakland and get your money backi.
I hate this website! There are very few men there. Very few meet my criteria. When I paid for my month's membership, I was told I could cancel anytime. I have tried THREE TIMES and my profile and membership is still intact! I want out of this trap and can't get out. After I went through the process of cancelling and found my profile still there, I emailed them... THREE TIMES! All I ever got was an auto reply mail saying they'll get back to me which they never did. This thing really scares me, now!
Zoosk is a classic bait-and-switch, and from the commercials, I was expecting something entirely different from all of its present competitors. The strategies are exactly the same: lure you in with the word, "free," and then find out that in order to actually communicate, you need to plunk down at least $30 for one month. Strange, I received a bunch of emails from women even before I had a photo up. From my experience, Zoosk has probably created "cut-outs," i. E., people working on behalf of Zoosk who create fake profiles in order to lure people into making payment. I have seen it so many times before. Oh yeah, they have been delinquent in answering my customer service questions. I even saw on a blog that a certain member had "just subscribed" to Zoosk - this same member having sent me an email. One day later, her message and profile were gone. Does this seem a bit sketchy? Had to be one of their cut-outs (fake profiles) that they dropped at will. Not trusting of these people, and it's a shame, because it's a friendly site and almost well-designed in terms of user interface.
As been said before. Seems good at first then you find out that unless you pay you can't do anything. Even instant message. They should have at least a two weeks trial. Also if you see someone "viewed" you there is no way to search out by their username to see if they are even interesting enough for pay for. No willing to pay 30.00 to try it out there are other sites that are free and by the way most of the guys on the free sites are on here. LOL
It seems like a nice free site... the profile process is easy, and -- as stated in the add, there are a lot of people on their lists. You can view profiles and send notes or messages, but in order to read the response you have to pay. This is not a free site... and I feel they should absolutely not sell it as such. I wrote to a girl that seemed interesting, but when she wrote back, I could not read it. I then got a note from the same girl and without paying I could not read more than the first line or two... I HATE that. If it is free then let it be free.
I used to live in Oslo Norway and my Zoosk account is set up to meet women from Norway, and lately i have been contacted by several very nice sounding women, that I really would have liked to communicate with.
Problem is that the rates they want to charge me to answer these contacts are so expensive, to almost be a con! If not quite a con. So to all the lovely women who tried to communicate with me I loved the idea of you but Zoosk is high maintenance!
What a pity!
If the TV ad appearing lately is in any way representative of the activity encouraged by Zoosk, anybody in their right mind would not open their identity up to this website.
The violence exhibited in the TV ad is not normal behavior.
Answer: These view are fake. Zoosk is lousy site! They obviously mislead their customers giving them fake likes and matches. You get instant bot auto-responses. I left to http://J4Love.net The result of my search there is incredibly awesome: I finally spent Christmas with my woman! I had wasted 11 months on Zoosk and then it took me just one month here to meet my perfect woman. Don't let Zoosk con you into their shady and phony "dating" kingdom. Zoosk is worthless, time is precious! The longevity of profiles is tremendous, they are there for years, obviously outdated.
Answer: The real matches are scant and located at distant places. The fake matches are abundant especially when your membership is about to end. It's phony. I met my girlfriend on http://J4Love.net This dating service is a lot better than Zoosk, Match, Tinder, etc. They are more professional with ethical approach to business - something that Zoosk lacks now. Zoosk used to be better couple of years ago, but now they suck.
Answer: ZOOSK, is a total RIPOFF
Answer: NO MA'AM IT IS NOT. In fact I only used the coins when I could get them for free. Under the system that's no longer possible. Nobody takes that sort of thing seriously, and for a woman it's even less relevant.
Answer: In the two months I have been on Zoosk. I have chatted with a number of woman, exchanged phone numbers and talked on the phone and I am just an average looking joe. I have also had times when I received a chat request and the person does not respond. You do have to pay to chat and the other person has to be a paid member. OK if your reading this there is one thing I found, if you search, only pay attention to the ones that say "recently online", the other ones may be fake or no longer active. It's a numbers game I have had many that did not respond to my messages also.
Answer: I believe it is. But how safe is the internet these days. Just don't be quick to give too much information too soon you will know when its right to share. Good luck
Answer: Not at all don't bother buying them just play some games u will get some
Answer: Chances are you're sending a message to someone that was a member long ago and isn't registered any longer. Zoosk is a total scam.
Answer: Unfortunatly not. You have to be a member. I suggest you don't try this site. It won't help you to find wat you're looking for. Cheers. R.
Answer: I can't believe you expect that! The whole idea is anonymity until people are comfortable with exchanging personal info.
