This is a definite scam
September 5, 2013

This is a definite scam. I received fake messages, fake everything, even after signing up and paying. Before paying you can't do anything, afterwords, it's all fake. I went to OKCupid to compare, many profiles were on there that were stolen by Zoosk. After realizing how bad the site was I attempted to close out account and get a refund. This did not happen. I then called customer service, flipped the f out, and got at least my first time application fee back, do not know about other part yet, customer service said that corporate would get an inquiry/request to refund the rest back, but I doubt it. This site is trash, pure and simple, don't fall for it, please.

I wish I could give it NO STAR. The worst scam EVER! They make you pay to sign up, fine. Then they show all profiles that haven't paid, so unless they pay, they can't see you or read your message or reply. So WHAT the #!@#$@. And then they say you have someone who has agreed to meet you, and you don't even know if that person is a paid member or not. So to accept that mutual request you gotta pay more, only to find out the person who wanted to meet you is not paid member, and can't even read what you send! Awesome! BIG SCAM! Don't waste your money on this stupid site.

Zoosk is half legit and half scam. Many of the profiles on their site are not real and just lifted from other personals sites. I joined a couple of weeks ago and been in contact with a few women who ARE members. But there are many more who're are not.
If you are considering joining keep this in mind:
(1) While looking through the profiles, you can eliminate any from consideration which don't include 'recently online' these profiles are people who haven't even done free browsing on the site. That's at least half. Even if you do see the words 'recently online' that indicates only that that person has browsed (but not necessarily joined)
(2) If you wink at someone and get this reply "I appreciate the wink. Leave a message and I will get back to you." It's completely BOGUS. That profile doesn't exist and zoosk is behind it and crossing the line into fraud; trying to lure subscribers.
(3) you can send one message to someone who has a profile. If they're a member, they can read it. In your message you can point out you're not a current member and leave your personal email coded (as in supplement words for punctuation) It'll get through their filters and maybe you'll get a response
Bottom line, try the free personals (OKCupid, POF, etc.) If you want to pay, match.com.

My experience is the same as that of so many other people: I'm convinced that essentially every profile featuring a decent looking man with a well written bio is fake. How do I know? Well, not too long ago I tried a couple of other online dating sites and was bombarded with hits from men in all walks of life - not just the sad, seemingly desperate ones who are currently chatting me up on Zoosk. Oh, get this. The system periodically matches people up by common attitudes then makes you pay to connect with this great person for you. As an experiment, I used 20 coins (which can also be accrued by participating in one of their sham surveys) to email said great match who Zoosk confirmed had also expressed an interest in meeting me... and nothing. No response whatsoever. However, I was given the option to invest another 20 coins to determine whether or not my email had been read yet. What a crock! Not to overstate my value, but I'm generally considered to be quite attractive and have a well written, interesting bio of my own. Funny, before I signed up for the paid membership, I used the Search function to see who might live in my vicinity & there were many choices. Suddenly, in a single day - since I paid - their profiles have all magically disappeared. The saving grace here is the fact that I requested a temporary number from my credit card provider in case Zoosk were to attempt to bill me beyond the 30 day membership I signed up for. Also, I enrolled over the phone rather than online specifically so I could tell the rep that I absolutely would not join unless the $35 new membership was waived & the the account NOT auto-renewed at the end of the month. How sad that one must go to such lengths to get even the smallest bit of satisfaction I've received on the site so far (this is day 2). Bottom line: Even with the precautions, using this place to enhance one's social life is a waste of money.

I am premium member ship, I paid 72 £ for 6 month member ship, already using zoosk.com account for a month and got only some response but nothing seriously. I thought that some kind of problem with my account so I called for zoosk help line, when they finally called me back( I needed to wait for about 3 weeks) they said that everything is ok with my account, and I just need to buy some COINS(zoosk money) to boost my profile, that more women could watch it. So the manager agree to give me 400 coins free for me. And nothing changed, lots of women are watching my profile, but that's it, no massaging no nothing. Its the worst investment of all. I thought it will be fun to find some girl from virtual world, but... zoosk.com are crooks. DON'T PAY MONEY for membership it not worth it.

Ghastly
August 26, 2013

Ghastly. Firstly, there are a lot of fake profiles created in order to lure you into signing up. You can always tell them because they only have one photo, no profile to speak of profile name of "loves2dance" or loveisreal" and all are situated in the same place near you. As soon as you sign up, they'll disappear. Most of the paid functions on the site are a rip off, it's difficult to terminate your account, the help link on the site is blind/broken and you'll find yourself asking why the hell am I on this site when there are cheaper, better and less fraudulent sites out there on offer?

Bloody awful
August 21, 2013

Bloody awful. I'm no Adonis but pretty good, financially ok, and I work out and have an interesting lifestyle. Automated bot bull$#*! I seriously debate the authenticity of many of the profiles, and people checking you out. I hate zoosk with a passion. Either that or women on there are about as deep as clingfilm...

If only I had read these reviews before I paid my money!

I have been on dating sites, off and on, for nearly ten years and Zoosk is just about the biggest waste of time in the UK. I am pretty certain that they computer generate messages of endearment from the opposite sex as well as telling you that fictitious people want to chat or meet up with you. I may be wrong about this but when I reply to these 'interested' parties, I get no response! I am a fairly hardened individual but this scam can be very cruel for some lonely hearts. I would say that there are very few genuine people on zoosk in the UK.
Tread with caution, be cynical and you will not be disappointed!

Zoosk has this thing called zsms, were they say they match you. Well if you say you like dogs and the other person likes dogs they match you, plus after you all ready paid you need to get coins ( pay again) to use this feature. Then if it says that the person is 43 miles away when you map quest they are really 80 miles away. You can not narrow the "on line now" feature according to miles, meaning if some one in new York is on and you live in ohio they show up. The carousel feature will not let you know were the person is, you just need to say yes or no and this feature cost you extra as well. And lastly they are relentless about if someone views you, you get an email for ever view, then when you check the views, then the same person views you again immediately. Who cares about views? The site is NOT #1 like the ratings say, it's a joke save your money you have been warned,,,,,

There is no way of changing the ages set for search or the distance - you can edit for a search but cannot keep the changed ages. For instance mine is set at 63 - 77 by who knows who and I want 55 - 70 max and that is being kind. They grab coins which you have spent ages clicking to get when sending some emails by a pop up which you can't turn off. Customer service is non-existent - no email to write to although I did get an answer to a telephone message before I paid to join but that never worked again nor now does the telephone number - just rings and rings and dies. The reject feature doesn't work as the same faces keep showing up even though I have rejected them - report user is a better method to stop unwanted profiles. I have never seen so many scruffy and frankly ugly men and so many smokers on a site. The few exceptions live too far away - again can't change their 100 mile setting to 20 (35 would be better but doesn't exist). Wish I had seen this site before I stupidly signed up because I had seen a couple of good looking guys. I am not on facebook or twitter.

I signed up and paid my amount, after i supposedly got a message from this nice looking guy. I didnt get hardly any responses or views once i signed up. I looked for the nice looking guy and was a profile but it was really weird because it was in another state across the country. The ones I did get scared me half to death. I cancelled my subscription and asked to be taken off... to this day my profile is still active... I get all these hits, winks and messages, 5 times more than when I was a subscriber, and now i am getting all these teaser profiles, with great pictures, and live in other states. This last teaser was a guy on a 32 ft sail boat off the coast of Calif. Near Carmel. Please give me a break. I am a country girl in Idaho. These poor guys who respond to my profile have no idea and think it is an active profile, and that someone is being rude to them. I have tried to change my profile and deleate but Zoosk denies and have sent me some rather intimidating messages that make me think my supposed account is flagged because I try to change and Zoosk puts back the section back on or actually changes what I wrote. I don't play games. Stay away they are a rip off and could be dangerous to your safety.

The worst experience I've ever had in dating. Over 30 scam artists wasted my time making me think they were real, after five though you see a pattern I just played along. Fake profiles, and zoosk wants you to pay every time you send a message to see if they received it! Wtf kinda bs is that! Don't waste your time or money the site should be shut down and I'd personally kick whoever runs it $#*! if given the opportunity. Don't f@#k with people's relationships or emotions!

I've been using Zoosk for about 3-wks. This was more of an experiment than anything else so my hopes were not high and I'm glad I didn't have high hopes. I paid to be a member, $100 for I think 6-months. I'm from NY. First, I approached all the women in a very respectable way, Hi, my name is so-and-so, these are my hobbies / interests, what's yours? 1 out of 50 times I get a response which is pretty bad. I get many views, but no one chats. I did send a blast to 10 women asking them to give me a simple "k" to let me know the chat feature is working and two responded so I know it works. I think the women / profiles are all legit but they are inundated with others guys or have already established chats with other guys. Women who do not join, which I think most are not members, have limited chat / messaging features - limited as in they can respond to a message 10 times or something like that. So women are even more picky on who they chat with. The other downside is, the women I see are mostly divorced with kids. Here's my estimate: 60% have kids living with them / divorced / starting over, 10% are ugly (sorry), 10% are in their 20s and 30s, and 20% are older than 30 (some are in nice shape). A lot of the women are looking for a serious relationship. I use this site as a test for my come-on lines and to build the nerve to hit on a hot girl in the real world. It's also interesting to see the background on some women and how they were treated. Some have massive chips on their shoulders. It's also interesting to see them describe themselves - nice, easy going, low maintenance - okay, then why hasn't some guy picked you up? My recommendation is, unless you have $100 to blow, it's not worth it. If you've got the cash then this might be a fun thing as an aside to do but you should be actively finding a live girl in the real world. I think of this almost like fishing, I put out 100 lines. If I catch anything, it's a bonus, but I always have a steak waiting for me at home. Hopes this helps!

Zoosk was the worst site I have ever seen. It is hard to know where to begin. They have a wink setting. So I saw a friend I have know for twenty years I sent her a wink. I got a reply saying thank you for the wink but tell a little about yourself, I find she never got the wink. I had the same thing with messages sent a nice lady about three message we finally connected and she said she only got one. I call the customer service, it is suppose to have live help from 9:00 am on I phoned and got a recording. Again worst site I have ever seen. Michael

I paid for a 3 month subscription and got absolutely nothing for it. I cannot say for sure that it is a scam, but it certainly seemed like it to me. I received replies from only a few of the many, many women that I sent messages to, and even then, there was never more than a single message. I got emails from Zoosk daily, stating that I had 20 or 30 new profiles to review, and many of them were the same women from the days and weeks before. Multiple times, I got messages from aleged members, and after paying to see the message, it would read something like, 'what are ya up to?', and nothing more. The more I think about it, the more I am inclined to believe that Zoosk is a scam site.
