This company should not be legally allowed to use the term customer service. If there is any alternative at any price choose it over this company. Same experience in three different parts of the country. Absolutely will ignore any communication. I wish zero stars were possible.
Several times in the last month our garbage and recycling has not been picked up. Drivers have stated our cans were not out when they get put out the night before, they picked up when they haven't, can was "stuck" ( never came at all). And forget about someone calling you back when they say they will! Many excuses to not pick up. Very disappointed in this company!
Ordered a 20 foot container for a roof tear off. The tearoff begins Sunday. I ordered the delivery for Friday. They did not deliver despite 5 phone calls and assurances the dumpster would be delivered. Over $750.00 later I'm stuck putting my roof removal on the ground hoping I can get my money back to hire another company. They f-ing suck. I'm telling you don't do it. It's a scam.
Almost two years of service n I think we've only had two months of consistent pick up without issues. They keep marking my house as Complete without ever stopping so many Fridays I'm on hold for 30-60 mins to get them to come back, usually on Monday. That's enough time to cause flies. Or I have additional cans next to the green bin n they'd only pick up the green one. It's truly been more headache than it's worth. I'm gearing up to switch very soon.
I have reviewed this company on Google before. Problems got better and seemed to be fixed. But here we are again, running late, missed pickups and horrible customer service. Trash hanging out of garbage cans and that alone is a health concern not to mention all of the dogs that live on my road and wild animals. I absolutely do not recommend waste management at all and would love to see a different dependable company serving my area.
Ever since Waste Management took over Advanced Disposal here in Cumming, GA, they have consistently missed pickups, either recycling or refuse, or both. Every week we get an email the evening of our pick-up date saying service is delayed. No kidding! The trash sits out there for 2 days. They even delayed recycling pickup an entire week. On several occasions I have called WM to order a replacement bin or to report a problem (one week was the only recycling not picked up in our entire subdivision). If you call, you have to be prepared to sit on hold upwards of 30 minutes; the longest I was on hold was 48 minutes. At least our previous service had an option for call back if the wait was going to be long. Not this group. I would suggest that people look elsewhere for trash service.
Not only do they overcharge for their service, they lock you into a contract that you cannot break due to poor service. The website is an antique and impossible to achieve service results from. I needed a lock replaced on a container today and spent 20 minutes between website and customer call. I am cancelling my service in September when contract expires and have to submit the cancellation to them by registered mail. Switching to Portland Disposal (great service) ASAP. THE WORST>
Do yourself a favor and go with a local company. WM is such a large company they don't care at all about how they treat their customers. They charge ridiculous fees that are borderline illegal. I never signed any contracts with them ever, and when I called to cancel (which took hours waiting on hold) was informed "my contract" says I have to pay cancellation fees. What reputable company does that? I am firing them and they think they get to charge me for getting fired? Next time I get disciplined at work I am going to charge my employer for disciplining me! Ridiculous company. Do not use Waste Management.
Use to be you were allowed 1 large item per month to be picked up for free. Now every large item you put out is $20+. No more freebies. Ridiculous. Then we wonder why tvs etc are sitting in the median of Interstate 376!
Stay away from this company! Terrible service. Called to instructions for yard waste and card board boxes - followed instructions exactly - did not pick up. Called back - said someone would l come get it next day - never came. Called again - told they would get it next pick up day - took half of it - then left note hand written saying the truck was automatic and it has to be in the can! Have used several times due to moves - never again - always an issue about picking up on time or anything not in can.
Rate hike every year, 1.5 hours each time on hold just to talk to someone. We cancelled our service and moved away, only to find out they never updated their records and then wanted to charge us $363 for the upcoming year, even though we did not live in the house anymore! I hope they get what they deserve.
Compactor brought back Friday, now does not operate. Appears that the electrical pig tail to the compactor has been crushed under the compactor by the driver. Can't get any help from rep and after hours emergency number from reps email sends me in a complete circle ending with the conclusion that I need to contact our rep. 1800 number also has the same outcome. Now a 500 plus unit community will be going through a 4th of July weekend with no compactor with a rep that always sends warning out of office emails every time I email her with a problem. Compactor was also returned with trash.
Company never provided a refund even after verification and reference numbers placed through multiple phone calls. Now they claim something else was communicated and won't follow through. Glad I chose another honest company. I'll never utilize their services again!
The absolute worst company that I have ever worked with. Dozens of missed pick-ups. Drivers have repeatedly claimed to have made the pick up, but camera footage shows they never entered the property. I can't even tell you how many times I've been told that a manager would call me back, but it never happened even once. Of course they have no problem charging you an extra fee if even the smallest bit of trash is peaking out of the top of the dumpster. If you like terrible service and getting over charged, this is the company for you!
One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with. Customer service is complete trash--pun intended. Their chats disconnect you before the problem is solved. They don't answer your questions. They ignore your questions. They charge extra to pick up a simple rug or small item. No email. No live phone help. You can't even click on their "customer support" link off their website. Complete scam and a disgusting company to have to deal with. Shameful for $40+ a month service.
I am now a new customer of Waste Management, they dropped off filthy, disgusting bins that smell terribly. They say do the right thing on their website, but they don't believe in actually doing the right thing.
When things go bad like a missed service or bad weather their customer service is horrible. I have to call, email, chat and get a little stern with them to get anything resolved. They don't invest in it and don't need to since we can't change to another provider. They also keep raising prices and cutting what they pickup for recycling. Yet the boast on their corporate website about all the profit they are making.
I have never dealt with a company that cares less about their customers. They miss pickups. Stop picking up. And are just difficult to deal with. Then they ignore requests to talk to them about any issues you are having. I don't know how they stay in business other than they have am monopoly on trash pickup in some areas. I am trying to determine whether it's worth it to take legal action at this time. I am advising you to find another option!
Do not let your city council approve contracts with this company. I have had half my garbage picked up many times. Looks like they only grab the top few garbage bags in the container and leave the rest. I've called the service department many times and have had no progress in getting my issue taken care of. They dont seem to care, and that your tax payer dollars are their pay checks. GFL is sloppy and leave garbage in the streets. They dont clean up what they drop. Giving them a score of one is generous. I wish our city would get rid of them.
There is no rationale as to how they keep changing the pricing month after month.
I need to quit this company. The salesperson said: I can exit my contract but there will be 6-month penalty. Any truth to this?
I have to renegotiate the contract every year so I m not hit by a 17.5% increase on top of poor customer service. Hours on the phone and no results. They keep you on hold for 45 min on purpose till you are fed up and disconnect. It reminded me of Bell Canada and Rogers.
