A very easy process, satisfying results. The valuation was thorough and informative. The valuation arrived promptly.
The review was professional but not sure if all items were taken into account. The item for this artist has collection in the museum de Orsay Paris france. But the reviewer could not look a the links provided to see if full review could be made. So it felt the review was half hearted. Again for 25 Euros. I guess that is what we get a half-hearted review
Local appraisers wanted $250. This company did both for $50, sent the reports in less than two days. Insurance company accepted the new values which in my opinion were correct based on my own research.
I would highly recommend this business to evaluate your antiques and collectibles. The price is very fair for the expert opinions and knowledgeable info they share with you about your item. I appreciate their efforts.
Thank you- your service was easy and thorough. The appraisal was comprehensive and offered in-depth reasons that justified value.
Please stay clear from these cowboys they do not know what is the difference between fake and genuine antiques. I had at least 30 items valued by them and they never got even 1 correct. They were giving estimates in the thousands when the items were fake. They should be locked up
Hi John, thanks for your comments, we'd like to look into this for you. Please could you email info@valuemystuff.com with your feedback? Many thanks, VMS
I've been going to estate sales for years and often struggle with finding accurate and fast appraisals. I discovered ValueMyStuff on an internet search and gave them a shot a rare book I discovered. I took several photos of the book and submitted my request on a Friday. It took about 3 minutes of my time. By Sunday morning I received an email from ValueMyStuff. Not only did they provide me with a fair appraisal, they provided me with a background story about the 1911 rare book and it's author. They are very knowledgeable, professional, and personable. I would recommend them to anyone.
I recently submitted a Uyghur language copy of Mao's Quotations for appraisal. Indeed I received the Valuation Report within 48 hours of my submission - fine.
However, the Valuation Reports contains (a) informational errors (e.g. Wrong publisher) and (b) irrelevant information. (a) I submitted a photo of the colophon details showing the book was published by the National Publishing House, not Foreign Languages Press. (b) The notes section has information on the Chinese editions, autographed copies, and the recollection of a past auction of a dozen first editions in various languages. But the expert was unable to find details of the auction.
I would pay more for an expert to take more time (a week or ten days) to produce an accurate Valuation Report with relevant information. Not a 48 hour rush job. That said, it's a service with potential.
This is such a great service for people like myself who have small ad-hoc items that need identifying and valuing. Simple and straightforward and received the valuation within the timeframe promised.
So far so good. I did one of these with another website and never got my appraisal. Hoping for better results this time.
Appraisal arrived on time and the information provided was very helpful.I will use this service again and highly recommend.
I expected expert opinion, but received generalised comment. Here it is:
"There appears to be some water or
Condensation damage under the glass.
They are lovely works, but not exceptionally
Rare works.
They may be reverse painted on glass
(actually painted on the inside of the glass).
It is difficult to determine without removing
The backing which we do not recommend."
There is no water condensation! None. Why mentioning something like that, but not telling the year it was made, the name of the artist, what kind of method was used to even paint the picture like this? What is the name of this fine painting and who/what does it represent? They were not helpful at all.
Hello Valentina,
I'm sorry to hear you were unhappy with your report. Aside from the comments above, we also stated these were Chinese paintings, made circa 1900. We also gave you auction estimates, an insurance value, and offered our reasoning: "They are lovely, but do have some surface condition issues. Today they are not as rare or scarce as they were prior to internet sales, hence the relatively low values."
The works are unsigned, which unfortunately makes it challenging to determine an artist, as is common when valuing artworks. These were likely to have been made by a local artist to sell to tourists, and as such will not be listed in artist databases. The values given reflect this.
If there was any further specific information you required, please do not hesitate to contact us (info@valuemystuff.com), and we would be very happy to discuss.
Best wishes, VMS
It would offer a little more comfort to know who the valuation expert was together wit a brief resume to understand a little of their experience. The valuation was disappointing and somewhat different to my expectation given i owned what i believed to be authentic certification. Whilst i do not doubt the valuations validly more credibility would come from a personal introduction. Lastly a little more explanation about the the significance of the faces of the Chinese deities which largely lead to the valuers conclusions. This is all the more important for valuations significantly below what was expected.
Thank you for your feedback Tim.

I appreciate receiving a detailed and prompt email response with the appraisal.
I needed a written appraisal for some validity on a sale. I sent in 6 to 7 pictures of my item. I had a turnaround response within 48 hours with a very descriptive valuation. This process was perfect for me, and I will be back!
Thank you for your positive feedback Laura. We are so pleased to have been of such useful service to you.
We look forward to having the opportunity again.

I had a fast response, I think with hindsight it is better to discuss items directly with the reviewer to give an overall picture of the providence of an item, and a further follow-up would have been useful.
They really seem to know their stuff and were dead-on in their knowledge of my item. Website is easy to navigate and their appraisals are fast, a well as being amazingly accurate (as it turns out). Thank you!
I was looking for an assessment of a unique item of mine and chose the 48-hour response option. ValueMyStuff presented an appropriate description and their assessed value well within the time that they proposed.
Thank you for your kind feedback Benjamin. We are delighted to have been of such satisfactory service.

I was very nervous about using an on-line service for our appraisals since I am not comfortable using a computer for anything other than email. However the ValueMyStuff site was very easy to use. I was contacted immediately when I did not include needed information. I received my evaluations well within the time frame promised. We are pleased with the evaluations.
With over 100 items submitted for evaluation, most all where spot on. They helped sort the low end garbage from authentic high end items. Many objects thought to have no value turned out quite important. Others believed valuable, had decoritive use only despite our belief. For those wanting to sell, having their certification of vale has been key to sales.
Took a little longer than 48 hours but no worries. Thorough explanation that was nicely worded. My wife and I aren't collectors, just a couple who found a neat bowl and had an internet connection. Thanks for the fun ride.
Thank you for your kind words Ken. It was our pleasure to be of service to you.
