They got back with clear, concise and comprehensive feedback really quickly.
I now feel confident in knowing what my stuff is worth and insuring or selling it for a fair price.
Thank you for the peace of mind and the service.
So this business is either rated 5 stars or 1 star - anyone wonders?
I bought an oil painting in 2006 for 7,500 Euros and with all their "expertise" their appraisal was 5-10 Euro (I am serious!). No answers to my mail and no answer to my phone calls. Stay away!
I paid my fee and sent in my photos. They valued it, but any other information they supplied told me nothing, it could have been for anyone, plus, this is in their Terms and Conditions
4.1 The Company gives no representation, warranty or guarantee in the Valuation in respect of an object's origin, provenance, attribution, condition, date, age or authenticity.
So... whats the point
Always fast, love the information included with the appraisal, have and will keep on using the service,Thanks!
Been using this site for over a decade now for when I find something I cannot quite figure out on my own. I would say my experience was that 1 out of every 5 appraisals has been pretty weak, and something I already knew from my own previous research, where it was obvious the appraiser just looked online and basically copy/pasted, or values were way off... But most of the time I get what I came for! I was lucky enough to buy a ton of of appraisals in bulk a long while back when they offered a 30% off sale, and appraisals were like half the price they are now!
There's a good chance I'll use this service again, after my uncle passed away I got some historical photographs that I did not want in my house but may have had some value worth throwing at my student loans. They dont really, but even so I got really nice information about the photos themselves and clarified the family lore around the event which has kinda had the telephone game applied to it over the years and across the atlantic. Other appraisers in my area want to come meet on location, and that's nice but I was glad to be able to do this over the internet.
So far it is approximately what I was expecting.l have to say that it is hard for me to comprehend another artist using an original signed painting, poster, or print and then embellishing it by pouring and shaping acrylic material that looks exactly like every painting of Boca summer I have ever seen with no defects whatsoever. To what point? I don't get it but I guess the only one who can say for sure is guy Harvey. Thank you for your efforts. To me it remains a mystery.
Complete and total waste of $45 for three appraisals that I could have done myself, they give the absolute lowest value possible even for real antique items! I will NEVER use them again! I am very unhappy with this company! I would rate them a zero if I had a choice too!
Dear Bridgette,
Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to confirm that, prior to your posting this review, we had responded to your complaint by email offering to review your appraisals should you wish to send us further information and images. We have yet to hear from you in response to this.
We can also confirm that owing to our not being able to give a comprehensive appraisal on one of the 3 items you submitted, we have restored the valuation credit to your account, with our apologies. This too was confirmed to you by email.
Given the low value of your items, we can of course understand your disappointment. We would always much rather bring our clients better news. However, integrity is at the heart of our service as our clients rely on us to be honest and open in our assessments. Our specialists appraise items based on the images and information provided, their many years' experience and current market forces. Although we share your disappointment, we are not able to offer refunds on the basis our clients disagree with our specialist’s view. We will however always review our reports free of charge upon the receipt of further images and information.
Our offer to review your reports remains open, should you wish to pursue it.

I have always wondered about a little wooden shoe that I found during the remodel of our old farmhouse. It must have fallen between the walls that were made up of plaster and lath. My facebook group told me it was an old snuff box. After looking at other photos of snuff boxes, I decided to have experts tell me what it was. I was very happy to find out it was a late 19th century pin cushion, without the pin cushion. In their report, they also gave a fascinating history of pin cushions, including why so many are shaped like tomatoes! I have recommended their service to my FB group for items they simply cannot identify. Thank you so much!
Thank you Jill, we're so happy you were pleased with your valuation.
I really enjoyed how easy, quick, and affordable it was. I was a bit disappointed that i couldn't get a bit more detailed info on my antique chairs, but can assume it's kind of difficult from pictures only, i just hope their appraisals hold up when i go to sell them.
I submitted a few photos of a rug my parents gave me and they got back to me within a day or two with detailed explanations of the origin based on the patterns, colors, etc. I even followed up with an extra question and they responded within the day to that as well. Ruth was very nice--I highly recommend working with them.
They do a fabulous job rating, pricing, & describing the item. Plus, you get a certificate too. It took them longer than expected because, I did the information on Thursday night & then turned it in that night too. Then, there was the weekend & I did get my information Tuesday morning. They should of really said, 5 days, or a week, but not 48 hours. People worry it's a scam but, it's not. Just have some patience. They'll come through with flying colors. Thank you, ValueMyStuff.
I was disappointed with your assessment on my shell, as there is no documentation or provenance to support it. I contacted the New Bedford Whaling Museum and I was told by the Curator it could have been in the Philippines in the post-Spanish-American War period 1898-1941, but is not certain. My father told me it was from an ancestor who was a whaler and created it. If I find this ancestor who wrote his initials J.J.W. Inside the shell would that be documentation? His name was John Jacob Williams. Maybe I can find him. I am still searching for more info on this shell.
Thank you for your kind words Sandra. We endeavour always to exceed expectations.

I've been using your service for many years now, for pieces that either I can't identify at all, or that I can't narrow down enough to be confident that my information is correct.
Once again, you provided not only confirmation of what my own research turned up but insurance value as well as replacement value. I am, as always, very pleased with your work.
Thank you for your kind words Susan and repeat custom. We very much enjoy working with you too and hope to have the opportunity to be of service again soon.

When I needed some native American pottery appraised, it seemed like no one in my area could help me. Then I found this website. Their services were affordable and fast. The people I dealt with were very professional and helpful. They went above and beyond my expectations.
Shocked at lack of value to the asset I had sent in. An appraisal from 2001 valued it at 5 to 6.5 k. Shicked to see a modern appraisal value of 1k.
Good speedy response but a little confused re the possible valuation as it seemed like pure guesswork. The 'expert' said he/she had never seen anything like the vases we submitted as we have not done since my mother bought them at auction nearly 60 years ago and that is why I wanted an expert view. I love them as did my late mother so the value is not so important but I do want to find out more about them if I can
I appreciate your business model as it allows me to receive good estimates of my art collection value without schlepping my art all over the country to get a fair estimate.
I am using the valuation for insurance purposes and this service puts my mind at ease that I am correctly insured. It is a bonus that Value My Stuff delivers such detailed and thorough research on the valuation assigned, and they honor their time commitment for delivery very diligently.
Having purchased 10 appraisals, my opinion is that the level of accuracy on the values is highly accurate. I do not own an original Picasso, but rather original prints or paintings by lesser known artists. The level of detail in the valuation
Was extraordinary and I am a very happy customer.
My pieces were fairly valued. Not too high, not too low.
Thank you for the wonderful level of service and excellence that
You provide.
I am supremely impressed with your company and service.
Whoever the so called expert was that appraised my print clearly just did a quick internet search to value it. The signatures on my print are the true value. Plus the fact it is obtainable only in the secondary market also increases the value. I won't be wasting my time on any other appraisals. After reviewing my appraisal certificate it would also appear the artists birth and death dates are incorrect as he was not born in 1923 but 1961 and is still very much alive.
Hell James, I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your valuation. If you'd like to email us we can look into the matter for you: info@valuemystuff.com.
I've had 5 or so appraisals and felt uneasy with the values I received. So I sent in a known artist signed painting to see what they did. It came back with a couple of hundred dollars value and said it was an unknown artist. I sent back a picture of my painting along with a sold painting on Invaluable showing the same artist signature that sold at auction for $12,000. No response yet, but these people don't know what they are doing. I would NOT recommend using this service for a true appraisal of your items.
So far it's been pretty easy. Hoping the rest goes as well.

Hi Klaus, thank you for your message. I believe we have been in contact (via telephone and email) to try and resolve your concerns. Unfortunately, your painting is not by a listed artist with an auction record and we have to give a decorative value. Having an auction record shows a demand for the artist and helps to give reasoning to an artwork's value. Often gallery and retail values are considerably higher as they are essentially a private sale. We are currently arranging a second opinion free of charge and will be in contact in due course.
