I received an email asking me to come in for a free beauty product for my birthday. I went into the Ulta store and was told they were freshly out of the birthday products, but that they were re-sticking on Tuesday and I should come back then. Today is Tuesday, so I stopped in on my way home from work. The first thing out of the cashier's mouth was, "We're out of the birthday items. Our shipment comes in on Wednesday and we'll be restocking then." I responded that since they lied to me, I would never be back. I think it's just a scam to get people to come into the store, thinking that they will shop. I'm done with Ulta.
I went to the Mt. Pleasant SC store and they nearly ripped the skin off my face. You sit in a chair in the middle of the store and have no privacy and when you have aging skin, gravity makes it tough to rip your skin sideways! Also, for a classy town there was not enough staff and they always seem "bothered" or ignorant when you ask about a product... I also had a hair cut & Color but that is a whole other review
I have ordered a few times from Ulta for delivery to Canada. A lot of brands available in the US are not available here, or they only sell a small portion of the range of products. So happy Ulta started shipping to Canada. Never been in store, so can't comment on that, but I have had no issues with my online orders. Shipping is fast (I live in Southern Ontario). Never had any products show up damaged or missing from order.
I was in ULTA store in at Bridge Street Huntsville,. Alabama. Beauty Adviser's was a black Male he was helping two black ladies with their make-up so me and my Daughter(we are white) Waited patiently for 30 minutes. So when he finished up with the 2 black ladies. I ask him could he help Find the right shade of make-up for my daughter. He said Let me take this makeup to the service Desk. When he came back he had the 2 black ladies again helping them put on their make up. There stood me and my daughter waiting on him. We waited there for just a few minutes as his proceeds to roll his eyes up to me and my daughter. So after 5 mins I left the store. You need to make sure that your Employees are not races to the opposite race. I will never be back in a ULTA store ever again.
When I first came to the United States from the UK
I was a little skeptical but after taking a whirl at shopping here.
I have come to find that this is one of the finer stores.
The service was very friendly and everything had a place of its own.
It was tidy and they even sampled the product on you. So this store gets a thumbs up from me.
Aa a consumer and a woman, I want make up brands to represent women. Having a man dressed up like a little girl to promote the brand is abhorrent. I will be shopping IT cosmetics direct moving forward.
Done going in there to stand in long lines with only 2 people working a register! News flash - you have too much competition now to be ok with customers standing in those kinds of lines! Taking my business elsewhere.
Very helpful. Staff always goes above and beyond to help us, things are quite expensive in this store but high end makeup and scents always tend to. I love how the staff always jumps rite in and lends a hand when we can't decide or have a hard time.
I bought 2 products from ulta using my credit card which was over a week ago. I assume Ulta is from Illinois since it showed the payment to go through over there. Woke up today, someone from tried to buy food from El famous burrito in Illinois with my credit card, thankfully declined but still have call in and get some help with my credit card and having to lock it in case it is trying to be used again. First picture is of my purchase and the second is the declined purchase of someone using my card. Also, i'm from california so im 100% im not in illinois getting food from el famous burrito
Don't hurt yourself and trust this company or its bank. You will be constantly asked to payoff an account that is not used. Their collections calls hang up when you answer and no one will help you close the account when you paid it off again. Do not put yourself through the stress, they are not helpful.
Ulta is my granddaughter's favorite store, which ends up being my favorite store when shopping for her. The selection is what she likes, as well as the various "special" buys that are important to me, and my family. Many of her Christmas gifts are purchased at Ulta. Throughout the year it also appears she does much shopping for herself, and friends. Thank you for making life easier for this Grandparent.
I'm trying to change my address since the day I bought it, they don't have customer support, you call them they don't answer, you send an email they don't answer, you talk to the chat but it's an automatic message, now they're saying no you can cancel because time has passed, before time has passed I tried to get in touch, but no one helped me, I have all the evidences.
They say they'll send you an email but they never do
Team does not know how to receive customers. There is no greeting not even "Hi". Team does not respond when questions asked. I tried three different stores and the behavior is the same in all stores. This will be my last visit to this store.
Worst costumer service! Did not get my 400$ refund even though I provided back return number plus E-mail from UPS which said it got delivered! Many many emails, phone calls which took me 5 months frustration! Never ever again and not recommend to anyone!
I'd give negative stars if possible. Horrible. Website doesn't work properly and customer service reps are beyond horrible. Spent over two hours trying to order shampoo. Ended up making 9 (yep you read that right!) calls to customer service because I either got disconnected or their suggestions were useless. Finally got it to work on my own but still can't keep them from saving my credit card info. At their prices, you should be able to at least get descent service. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told there wasn't one. Maybe THAT'S the problem!
I placed an online order. My order was sent in 2 separate shipments. I used a total of $30 in rewards but they took $60 from my account. I've been going back and forth over a week with online customer service. I just want my rewards returned and they still don't see the error. Very frustrating.
I went into the store looking for a red concealer. They showed me a few but I ended up finding one that I like by going on their website while in the store, that is how knowledgeable their staff is about their own products. They must offer no training or be the worst place to work.
There's a reason I stopped shopping at Sephora (despite VIP Rouge status) and a big reason is because of Ulta's excellent customer service. They also have an unbeatable points system. I saved up 6 months worth of points and it equalled to over $500 worth of free stuff when I used it all at once. Amazing!
These people are like the best of both worlds - they carry many high end beauty products, as well as some drugstore type brands. They almost always have a sale going on or some kind of promotion. Salespeople aren't terribly helpful, but they're young and are probably not well trained. It's nice to see someone give Sephora a run for their money, as well. I have gotten some excellent buys there on hair care products and their store brand cosmetics and bath/body items. Shipping is reasonably fast and everything always arrives in good shape. Plus you get free samples! I love shopping there, as a makeup junkie. They also have a Salon in some stores, but I've never tried the services there so can't evaluate that. All in all, I think they are an excellent place to shop for variety, promotions, and sale prices!
I love that you can find all of your hair, skin care and makeup needs with tons of products to choose from. The reward program is awesome as well & if you are a frequent shopper, it's great to take advantage of. They are constantly running sales, another plus! They do send frequent large samples of products but you typically have to spend $80 and up to get them. I generally don't spend that much at one time, I have bills that come first unfortunately. What I don't like is the shipping issues. I have never received anything on time! It's been up to a week late before, pre-pandemic. I expected them to offer a small credit on my next order like other reputable businesses do. Instead, I got an email encouraging me to "be patient". And, they weren't just talking about the week I had already waited. They wanted me to "give it another 5-7 business days, if you still haven't received it, let us know". Not a great way to be customer friendly.
Answer: It's not that the prices are particularly higher than anywhere else, it's that the products they sell are very high end and nowhere except like Marshall's etc has any of those brands for less. So I'd say yes they're all worth the money. Some brands are better than others depending on personal preference but they also have a rewards program that's free :)
Answer: If you're asking about Ulta's brand, you can only buy it at Ulta. Other items can be purchased through other retailers. However, you have to really dig to find anything cheaper than Ulta. Especially during a sale and with a coupon.
Answer: I have not. I have sensitive skin and try to stick with Vegan and cruelty free products.
Answer: Many companies have this policy. Probably because they allow returns at their stores very easily. I usually just place a new correct order, and return the incorrect order. Sometimes if you call customer service, depending on the mistake, they can fix it for you.
Answer: Their perfumes (edt and edp) are real and quite good!
