If I could give this 0 stars, I would. I bought Turbo Tax Deluxe and apparently could not get a refund after I decided to go with another company, due to my failed tax return.

What's worse is that this Turbo Tax Deluxe is not a one time payment. They'd get SO much more money if they did one time payments, rather than each year ask people to pay and pay and pay.

Their UI sucks too. It's too confusing, and if you want help then you have to jump through hoops just to find the customer service number. Also, their live chat bots aren't very smart either.

Don't waste your time and money with Turbo Tax. I recommend efile.com instead.

Have now spent approximately 5 hours on the phone with customer support, and am still unable to file my amended Colorado return. The last person insisted the data was there, and hung up on me when I said it wasn't! There is clearly a bug in the TurboTax software, and I can't figure out how to contact anyone to take my issue seriously.

Could not recover account via password, call, online verification or any method. I literally have zero way to complete my taxes using turbo tax this year. Even tried to upload via CD - also does not work. Very upsetting and truly one of the WORST consumer experiences I have ever had. You lost a customer, Intuit.

Once I completed my taxes which I did myself and notice on check out they did not show the charges then you have no choice but to go to the next step and WOW my simple return was now costing $273 which again I did the taxes myself and did not choose assistance, waste of money those folks are just sent through a crash course so no real tax experience. I was charge $209 for some kind of assistance which I chose no on and then $64 now why the total is $273 not really sure some other hidden charges I'm sure.
So pissed I didn't even file the returns I just can't uses a fraudulent company. I will never use this program again. At these prices it would be better to just have them done but most of all charging for something you do nothing for is just illegal. I will definitely let folks I know not to uses this program slowly but surely, they will be replaced.

I have used TurboTax for more than 15 years. This year I had a slightly unusual situation due to paying back a Covid related 401K withdrawl. I have been on the phone with support for more than 6 hours over the last few months, and the situation has only gotten worse, since now I can access my 2020 return to do an amendment.
The support people are nice, but clearly they are not up to date on the law, or how to manage the software. To speak with a Manager is a 2-day wait for an appointment, and I don't know how that will go yet.
If your situation isn't simple, find a live person, that you can see face to face. Paying for TurboTax offers no benefit.

I did my taxes through Turbo Tax and paid for the expert help and thought my taxes were done right. So the irs intercepts my taxes instead of getting $4900 back I now getting $276 back I called customer service an explained too them what happened. And now I asking for a refund for the expert help that they charged me for and they won't refund me. Never again will I deal will them! Stay far away from them they're fraud and false advertising.

Worst thing, not surprised they are still in business. Govt kickbacks. They lie and not accurate with returns

Do not use full service. The experts are data entry level, manager DAVID rude called me POOR.
$300 cost.
Refund was promised but cut by 60% in the end.
Also, they NEVER pointed out that they work tête-à-tête with the IRS.

I filed my taxes with TurboTax and was charged approximately $85. They failed to file my taxes cuz they could not confirm my identity through my adjusted gross income. I got the information straight from the IRS website. I have to get my taxes filed somewhere else now. And they refuse to refund any of my money. Absolutely horrible service if they want you to pay them for their service go elsewhere

I have Rental Personal Property (not real-estate). The income from a 1099-MISC is easy to enter, but the program will not allow me to enter expenses. I spent over 3 hours on the phone with Turbo Tax experts (ha ha). They were unable to help me. I am sending in the tax return with an error. I will explain if the IRS contacts me. I have been doing Personal Property rentals for 35 years without a problem until now.

Firstly, be careful of where you click. If you click something you may have charges added at the end for something you never actually wanted or used. Secondly, many question they ask you are vague. So, if you then look for help...they'll charge you. Thirdly, when you choose to pay your 2 $59 filing fees...they charge you $39 for the honor of paying them money. This company will get you by saying things are "free". This could not be further from the truth. This is blatant shady business practice and very much misleading. I would recommend staying away from TurboTax and the Intuit company as a whole as after you get hosed by them, they will then spam your email the rest of the year (and, of course as with all thing internet...they sell your info to the highest bidder). Work with them at your own risk. I will never use TurboTax again.

This is more on Principle than anything. First they were in fact part of a class action suit just to let everyone know and that is 1 reason this will be my last year. The other is their continued deceptive practicing.

Because my 1099's exceeding $1500 they require $59 deluxe version. But their site offers a $20 discount - as long as you click on the GET STARTED tab from their site offer. The problem is this does not wok either. Before the final completion and filing they will show you the fee (in a very small area on the page) It should be $39 with the discount but it still showed $59. I opened a case but the rep hasnt been helpfull.

Hen you file, and enter the CC info, they are clever in not disclosing the final fee prior to the PLACE ODER button. So when you place the order, well, you wont know what they charge until you see it. So keep your screenshots of the fee and any offers so that you can dispute an overcharge later.

When I got Live tax help, I was told the person I was speaking to was a tax professional with 30 years of experience. Based on the total lack of information they provided me, I do not believe I was chatting with a tax pro at all. It seemed more like an associate reading from provided scripts. When they couldn't answer my question, they gave me poor advice (just don't file a schedule C for your business at all) rather than offering to find the information. I had to ask them to escalate the case, which they did, but a message was very quickly sent to my account that I was never able to view and the case was closed without additional exchange or input from me, same day. The business taxes that I'm filing are very simple, and the question that I escalated is also very simple. If TurboTax cannot deal with something at this minor level, I have little confidence in their ability to deal with more complicated tax matters. This lack of concern for customers is extremely concerning given the legal implications people will face trusting them to provide them with accurate tax information and assistance.

I was so duped with Turbo Tax - 100% guarantee, yeah! - with the little magnifier going over everything you just did, like it's really going over everything and catching mistakes! I know now that is just a little cartoon icon. Call me trusting too much, but that's what I did, I am naive when it comes to Tax returns, I really fell for their scam on their advertising. Found out from scathing, demanding IRS letters I didn't put in my 2020 and 2021 Social Security which that little magnifier didn't catch up on. So now I owe $3k for 2020 and $4k for 2021. Where is their guarantee, paying more for a specialist, supposedly to look over everything and still they did not catch that? Then I read all their bad reviews of people like me - wish I had read that before I went with them for all these years.

Did my Tax with Turbotax. I picked the cheapest which cost $49. When I finished everything and got to that point of filing and payment. I filled my credit card Info' in order to pay. Turbotax charged me $185. Not kidding. I called their number to request them to cancel the transaction because I did not choose that option. I asked the lady why they are charging me $185 and I did not pick that option. The lady tried to figure out why they are charging me too much but she could not figure out. We looked at the forms and realized Turbox Tax had added other forms that I did not have. It is a big scam. Say away from Turbor Tax. It is a scam

Online will not work for my return. They refused to refund and let me switch to their home software. They say payment = satisfied with purchase. How does that make any sense? Class action suit coming I'm certain.

I was able to complete my taxes with no problem. Then I tried to print it and the program went into an infinite loop (on my Mac powerbook). My guess is that it was looping while looking for a printer, but I use a wifi printer which is not directly connected to my computer. When I tried to contact Intuit I could only talk to a chatbot that was unable to get my email address right. It's *******@mac.com. At first it said it heard *******@mac.com. Then on subsequent attempts it said o*******@mac.com. It seemed like it didn't clear the previous attempt and clumped them together. Then it said it would connect me to a human, and the connection hung up on me before a person came on the line.
