I purchased a hotel reservation thru Travelocity and their web site defaulted to some other dates and reserved the hotel for a lot more days than I wanted. I called Travelocity within 5 minutes and their foreign, could hardly speak English "customer service rep" told me he would look into it and take care of it. After I made 4 additional calls to Travelocity, no one ever called me back. Ant the hotel is charging me for the incorrect dates! I wish I had checked Travelocity's reputation befor ever using them.
We were more than happy with our experience with Travelocity. We had booked a flight that made two stops on our way to the destination. The airline changed our flights a couple of times which extended our time to get to the destination. When I called Travelocity to ask if there was anything that could be done to shorten our time, The customer service agent put me on hold and call Delta directly to discuss it. She was able to rearrange my flight and was very helpful. I think they went above and beyond. We were helped by Moe and Mark at the Travelocity Canada call center on December 28 in the evening.
Travelocity claimed to display all of the hotels in the area but in reality only displayed the ones they apparently have contracts with. I booked the recommended one then discovered later that a good hotel only minutes away was $50 less. The I one booked imposed a $50 cancellation fee. (what's with that?) Then they added a $20 "resort fee" at check in. I wish the "hotel helper" sites would just go away.
First day of vacation a total waste. Got up at 5am only to have our early flight cancelled. Had to wait 7 hours for next flight. Had 20 minutes to make connecting flight and had to run from one end of the Denver airport to the other. Ended up with shin splints - in pain the rest of my vacation. Hotel charged me an additional $33.60 for some recreational hotel fee that I didn't know I was going to have to pay. What a disappointment!
I booked a hotel reservation with Travelocity on 9th July 2023 for Riu Palace, Punta Cana for a stay from 20th to 25th Feb 2024 and I was promised a full refund if I cancelled before 17th Feb 2024. I cancelled on 7th January 2024 and received an email promising me. Full refund. As I did not receive my refund by 11th January I called the company (Travelocity) on 11th January and was advised I will have to pay $410.00 before I can receive my refund as cancellation fee! I was not advised about this when I made the booking and the email confirmation of my cancellation did not state this either. I feel I nave been ripped off by this company and I will never be using this company ever again Will also be deleting their APP from my phone and tablet immediately. I have paid the $410.00 but still have not received my refund. And I am now hoping I have not lost another $410.00 apart from my initial $2303.00 paid when I made the booking!
Booked a stay using the Travelocity.com web site, During booking process the the web site explained $97.00 room rate and $50.00 for taxes and fees. After my stay I discovered an additional fee of $146.00 was added. After contacting Travelocity.com they advised there was nothing the would do to try and explain or rectify the issue. In addition to 40 min hold times with Costumer service and being continually disconnected I would not recommend this web site to anyone.
I have used them consistently for a long time... but if you are outside the US, it can be impossible to get hold of them by phone if you have an issue... and they don't respond to emails in any detail... they also have a lot of new internationals working on the reservations lines... and i hung up on them twice last week when the person working on my reservation couldn't find a flight that i was looking at on my computer... sad to see it happen
I used Travelocity for my families trip to D. C. we stayed with a family member so we didn't book any hotel rooms using the app but we did use it to book our flights. I thought it was great only thing is every time you open the app you have to re-enter your criteria for your flight (destination, number of people, price range, etc.), but I didn't mind. I did play with the hotel option as well because we had a group of 9 so we thought of staying in a hotel part of the time. It had also been help full for finding places to eat. I will use this in the future when we go on trips. I already use it at home when we cant decide where to go eat.
Travelocity is a scam, they sell one thing and the companies deliver something different and they don't care. All our American airlines flights were changed despite booking months in advance. We booked a car rental through Travelocity using Easirent in Tampa Florida, we payed insurance and set up a pickup time using Travelocity and Easirent charged us again for insurance and we had to wait 1.5 hours for our rental car pickup. We booked a bay view hotel through Travelocity for the Hilton resort and Spa in Clearwater Florida based upon pictures of rooms from the website only to receive a parking lot view with only a tiny view of the ocean. We called Travelocity to complain and they did nothing to help.
Booked a hotel for a week in MX, when I got to the hotel it was a health hazard (everything in room wet and smelled of mold). I had to book into another hotel and Travelocity would not give me a refund from the first hotel. Will never do business with Teavelocity or Expedia ( this is one company) again.
Planned a trip and made reservation months ahead of, had to cancel and Travelocity said no refund but the hotel had a no cancellation fee. I'm being ripped of by Travelocity for $700+. I've talked to multiple agent and got no response from most of was told hotel did not do refunds.
My destination plans were recently canceled due to natural disasters in California. The conditions are considered very hazardous due to multiple fires in California at this time. Travelocity was not accommodating at all. The other people in my party received credit for future travels with other airlines. Travelocity is the only agency that did nothing. I will not use them again.
I thought I was getting a better deal booking flight and car rental together through travelocity. I was wrong. Their website is confusing and there is no breakdown of the charges. I thought I had prepaid for my rental car but after I returned I see that enterprise charged me an additional few hundred dollars. Travelocity was no help at all when I called to question these charges and couldn't produce a receipt. Now I have to deal with enterprise directly. Turns out I paid $400 to drive a Ford Fiesta for 4 days. I would have paid less if I booked directly through enterprise. Travelocity can't tell me what was paid for initially. Do yourself a favor and book individually as you end up paying more booking through travelocity. There is NO DISCOUNT when booking together as they claim!
Your computer can become a cookie factory because after you use this site it will be full of them. It cost me a subscription to SpyHunter and it still didn't fix my computer. I have since bought a Mac!
We had booked a flight to Japan in April to catch a cruise. When the cruise line cancelled the cruise in early March, I contacted Travelocity. After several phone calls, I finally got an e-mail from Travelocity that we were getting airline credit, and that another email would be forthcoming with the details, e.g., "travel by date", etc. When it didn't come, I called Travelocity several times - got put on hold, got hung up on, the works. A few weeks later, got an e-mail from American Airlines stating that the airline had refunded Travelocity for our tickets. So after 45 minutes on the phone, I was told that it would take 8 weeks to receive the refund. When I asked to talk to a supervisor, I was put on hold for close to an hour, then got hung up on! Will never again use Travelocity.
Don't use Travelocity, we used them for an important trip to a wedding in another state - made and paid for reservations (airline, including reserving seats in February for a June travel date), only to get an email the night before we left to check in and when we did, we discovered we had no seats! So we had to scramble and pay an additional fee just so we could actually get seats. Try going direct to Airline websites or using Kayak or Orbitz, before you use Travelocity. And, by the way, calling Travelocity "customer service" the night before our June wedding trip to find out why our reserved seats were "gone" was a disaster.
I recieved a bill on my credit card for an exorbitant amount just to fly to Florida. What got me was they used a local travel agency which I was unaware of. I had to change my flight so they charged me an extra $300.
Then when I was trying to understand they put a man on the phone with a Thick foreign ascent. I keep telling him to tr to spell it and even that was awful. How can you understand. So he put me on a permanent hold. Never again
I bought air tickets to Europe, but was denied baurding pass
Because I allegedly made a mistake in writing the name of my daughter. They also refused to give me refund of $3,000. I had to sue them and the airline(Delta) to get the money back. This is the outright criminal company.
I have been a customer of Travelocity for a number of years and last week I purchased a round-trip ticket with a hotel and a guaranteed cancellation fee. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my hotel, It was the worst hotel I have ever seen. However not only Travelocity could not honor their so-called Insurance (or fake insurance for $34), they could not even give me a voucher to be used for a different flight on a different day. The customer service in the Philippines and they will never give you money back. I called Travelocity and was told that they had to get permission from the hotel to give me a refund and they, of course, said no. I will not use Travelocity again. Why add a layer that when there is a problem they point at each other.
Do not use them! Save yourself the headache and book directly with the airline. I had 2 flights booked with them that I had to cancel due to the pandemic and the airline will say. We are happy to give you a refund, but you have to do it thru Travelocity And then Travelocity says they follow the airlines guidelines but they don't have the capability to process refunds or the airlines had different rules then. It's complete bs and I've been bounces around with the blame game wasting countless hours and lost hundreds of dollars
Answer: They tell you that you can use the credit within 12 months. When you try to book the flight, there is no way to apply the credit yourself, so you have to speak with a rep to do it. They place you on hold for hours! When you finally do speak with someone who can help you, you are told there is a re-booking fee added to be able to use the credit, making it cost more than if you just purchase a new ticket without adding the "credit"! Bottom line is that they say there is no penalty and that you get the credit, but you do not. They are liars and unethical, at best.
Answer: Bridgett, It is simply because this company has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service! It seems like the people who gave positive reviews have not had to make any changes in their arrangements--if they needed to change something, I believe their experience would have been negative. Who wants to do business with a company that is only a fair weather friend? Not me! This was by far the WORST experience I have had in dealing with a company. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them.
Answer: I don't know that. All I know is that I will not use them ever. They basically let me go after I had payed for the tickets. They are not an honest company. Good luck I hope you find your answers.
Answer: I totally disagree, you will never understand if you don't like to understand. If you try tonipen your ears and listen carefully without so much objections in mind, i bet you will understand. If you are a frequent flyer, you will know that these travel agencies has no control of the policies of the tickets, as they are implemented by airlines. And when you book a trip online, either from travel agencies or airlines websites, you will be informed of the policies. I bet you know how to read and understands simple english word, like non refundable right?
