I reserved one night and both the Travelocity confirmation and property email said I had until 8/14 to cancel without penalty. I cancelled now 8/12 and was told that the full deposit will be kept. I will be challenging this. I should have used TripAdvisor - I have used them often in the past without issue. Stay away from Travelocity!

Car rental insurance
October 2, 2021

Don't buy the $120 car rental insurance. It's a non-refundable option. We reserved a vehicle online through Travelocity and bought the extra coverage. When we went to pick up the vehicle the rental company didn't have what we needed so we had to cancel our reservation and they wouldn't return our $120 insurance deposit. It's a very bad policy and another scam put on by big business to take from the hard working people of this country.

Just tried to book a hotel for my anniversary and got lied to. After I was given the total price, I realized that it was a bit cheaper on another website and told customer service about it. He told me that they match prices and wanted to know which website. I gave him the name and after several minutes on the phone he could not find it. So i typed it and found the website again, he then said that he can't match it, so I told him to cancel my reservation, he just transfered me around till the other person just hang up on me. Called back and just had my reservation cancel, hope i get my refund in full as they promised. STAY AWAY.

I call this site the Travel Bundle Package Site! Prices may vary from day to day on any travel site... therefore it's good to check prices from day to day for bargains. When I'm planning a trip where I need fights, hotel and a car, that where I go. You can get a very good bundle price for the three that would amaze you. I've done a long weekend (4 days) trip to Maryland, got a round trip ticket, stayed at the Courtyard Marriott and had a car for less than $450. What do anyone has to lose?

We booked a room for the weekend and we were cancelled the night before due to hurricane by the hotel but since it was after the cancellation hour we were denied a refund. We in no way wanted to cancel our reservation but the hotel was closed and yet Travelocity still kept our payment. Will never book with them again!

Ruined my Honeymoon
June 26, 2018

I used travelocity to book my honeymoon, and I had to book over the phone because I needed to split the payment between 2 cards. I understand how this could make things more complicated, but it ended up being a mess. She books us 3 flights, and a hotel room for one night and then another reservation for the remaining nights. I didn't know this until after the call because she didn't explain how she split the payments at all. So I cancel all of the flights because it is a confusing mess, I then call to confirm which card the flights were on so I could book elsewhere. Come to find out they put everything on one card except the seperate night in the hotel. Well that was the debit card that we needed to use to pay for the wedding and spending money for the honeymoon. Its all gone. So luckily I can still cancel my hotel which I am going to do as soon as I get the okay from my fiance.

Not acceptable
November 14, 2016

Apparently they only have one computer that can make flight changes. I have been on hold over 20 minutes now since the supervisor's computer is the one that can make those changes. Booking directly through airlines next time. I am growing old here. Lesson learned.

All these online travel sites seem to have the worst people working in their customer service dept. To protect yourself use AMEX and record the calls so if these guys try to screw you, you file a chargeback for bad service or product not as described.

This site is okay as long as you don't have to deal with customer service

East Coast vacation
July 18, 2015

Did 4 cities in 9 days. Made flight and hotel reservations with Travelocity. Great customer service dept. Arraignments for trip took a couple of months to put together. One night in haste to make hotel reservations in NYC, locked in reservation for up coming weekend thinking it was trip which was still 2 months away. Travelocity cancelled reservation with no penalty.

Getting a hold of someone is impossible. Resetting your password takes at least a whole day and you'll miss on a good flight before you can log back in. You may never speak to someone. Rebooking is a pain. Don't use them. Spend an extra 50-100 somewhere else. It'll be worth it. Their fees are too high anyways. I hope they crumble. They shouldn't be able to serve the public and not be accessible. It's their duty to respond and help their patrons. They're completely gone. No where to be found but they're taking our money.

Travelocity had over charged my credit card for $118 in May 26 14 for a carnival cruise from charleston, my ID# *******X*******X when I was booking on the phone and looking at the same wed page with their Travelocity EXPERT agent. It was $1665. 35. Unfortunately! After the cruised, when I checked my credit card statement, that showed $1773. 35 charged.
I called, emailed, talked to Manager... all of them are end up with; it is fine, just wait, we worked on it... Until now they never credit back to me and try to deceive, bully, cheat to me. Everybody plz be carefully when you book with Travelocity.com. I am un satisfaction their service.

My original multi destinations was purchased in July $2,027.34 plus insurance $130.00. I've received several flight reassignments for my original destination Oaxaca Mexico from New York upcoming Nov 17th. When I was revising it notice a huge mistake having me arriving to Oakland instead of Oaxaca and then returning from Oaxaca on Nov 21st. Travelocity could not resolve my problem after expending more than 5 hours leaving me no other option but to cancel the whole trip including a connecting flight to Santiago DR on the 21st and a returning flight to New York on Dec 5th.
One agent promised a full refund including the $130 but another one retracted that offer saying only the flights will be refunded. I had to buy new flights costing me $600 more than original price paid in July. Needless to say I'm disappointed that I'm loosing my $130.00 plus an additional $600 because someone's negligence. Thank God I've notice the problem and didn't end in Oakland missing my event.

Just an update to my previous review.

I recently booked a hotel room through this company. When I received the charges and found that they were in US dollars, I chose to cancel, as it was too much money. I was not refunded the full amount. The company could not resolve the issue by email, even though I had received an email confirming that I would be refunded the full amount. I had to call, and when speaking to the representative Becky, she was rude, condescending, and very unhelpful, and I had a long wait to speak with a supervisor. As per the supervisor's instructions, I sent them the requested information to receive a full refund, and have still been denied the money. Although the company says that there are not cancellation fees, that not true and you will not be refunded the full amount. Avoid booking with them at all costs in the future.

Booked my flight to Hawaii on American through Travelocity and unable to make flight due to unanticipated triple bypass surgery. Neither American or Travelocity will take responsibility for refunding my money, but Travelocity had no problem charging my credit card. Integrity, anyone?

Hotel Disaster
May 30, 2017

I cannot believe the run around I have gotten with Travelocity. I booked a hotel with them. It was the filthiest, bug infested place there could be. I tried to get them to relocate me and refund my money. Called Travelocity Customer Service. Wait time for hold stated as 1 hour 16 minutes to 1 hour 53 minutes (luckily only had to wait 10 minutes). Relocation was nixed by them because there was "NO AREA INFESTATION in the immediate surroundings." Having a bug filled room does not count. Spend 2 hours on the phone that night to find out this info. Told by hotel attendant (no manager on site) that refund has to come thru Travelocity since paid thru them. So slept in car since was already 1am. After holiday trip, spent another 90 minutes on the phone to be told refund has to come from hotel. Also, they cannot find any record of my two hour conversation with them on THE night. How convenient! Still trying to resolve the matter.
I can't ever imagine using Travelocity again.

Lies and thievery
February 18, 2017

Your travel protection package is by far the worst one I've seen since I started traveling multiple states per year. This would be my first and last time ever using your thievery company and I would go out of my way to have any other military people I've known boycott your products. You lost one good valuable costumer today.

Purchased insurance with the expectation that there would be the ability to cancel in the event we would not be able to make it. The insurance has provided us with no such benefit. They refuse to cancel for us. Don't buy the insurance it is an absolute scam. Just extra money in their pocket. Now we are stuck with two expensive tickets that we don't know if we can use.

Travelocity would not give me refund for a cancelled flight to Germany after listing "flights" from an "airline" that doesn't actually have planes.

Travelocity props up, and is okay with lying to their customers about, a fake german "airline" called Involatus that is actually just a scam travel agency.

Travelocity takes no responsibility for listing this fake business as if it was a legitimate airline.

Travelocity makes $914 million dollars annually but can only say they are "sorry" instead of refunding $1K to someone after they had their flight cancelled.

Bad customer care
May 30, 2016

A travelocity agent made a mistake with my booking changes. I called back and They kept transfering me from on agent to another and were not helpful at all. They made me wait several hours on the phone and kept giving me weird excuses and apologizing for their mistake but said they are not able to fix it. My friend had a similar bad experience with them, abd advised me not to use them, i should have listened.

Our flight was scheduled for 24 Dec 22, booked using Travelocity. Day of check-in, notified flight had been cancelled on 15 Dec. No notification from Travelocity. Airline notified Travelocity on 15 Dec. Now they don't want to help saying "not our fault". They are the worst.
