Price match is a lie
October 26, 2022

I found a holiday rate for 500 dollars on Travelocity. Hours later it was 700. Okay, booked it, rates go up unexpectedly. But that same night, the rate went back down to 500 using a different computer. I submitted four times the price match guarantee. Keep in mind, Same airline, Same times and dates, same flight within 6 hours. They would not honor the price match. Created lies like it's not the same flight or could not find the lower price even though I had a screenshot. I canceled and booked directly with another airline. Unfortunately, with upgrades, I paid almost the same. But I'd rather spend my money with a company that honors their promises. I'm staying away from the conglomerate Expedia Group which owns tons of sites and will now deal directly.

Beware of Travelocity
April 11, 2017

Beware! I booked a Budget car rental which stated that there was free pickup within 5 miles. They didn't state that the exception was airports. I don't trust these websites and therefore called Budget ahead of time to make sure. Needless to say, they do not not. Check every detail so you are not side-blinded. Their customer service tried to tell me that a manager located in Mexico was taking care of it. That wasn't true either.

These people continually claim that they have flights available at a stated price, however after you have entered all your information they tell you that they, "hate it when this happens", but increase the price approx 20%. They are a waste of your time and should be put out of business. Very unethical!

I booked a rental car through Travelocity. They never transferred my payment to the rental car company, so I was charged by both companies for the same car. I called on 10/1/21 after noticing the double charge. It took me 4 calls that day to speak with someone who was able to figure out what happenend. I was told it would take up to 10 business days to get my refund. 12 days later and nothing, so I made another call, had to explain again what had happened only to be told they are working on it. And I still don't have my $820 refund. Will never use Travelocity again.

My husband and I booked a trip with car rental through Travelocity, and their program booked the reservation incorrectly. Once we arrived in Michigan, we realized they over booked us, thus overcharging us by $247.19. We contacted customer service, spent several hours on the phone, were promised emails and call-backs that never came, and after a few months of back-and-forth just took the hit and decided to put the word out to others. It's not worth our time but it is worth others to know the way it was handled was absolutely horrific. Each customer service agent passed us off, not sending information on and ultimately not following through with whatever was promised by the one before. It is sad that a company exists that does this to good people.
Please take your business to another site. FYI Expedia owns this site so steer clear of them... they operate the same.

The absolute worst
January 10, 2014

The absolute worst. Travelocity and their step child Expedia do not deserve to be in the travel biz. Not only did they screw up my reservation ie: 1 day short and $35 dollars more per room per night (booked 2 rooms) But their solution after stringing me along for 3 weeks was to cancel the reservation and rebook it at the current price now of $80 extra per night per room. How the F... is that a solution?

Deceiving
September 29, 2016

I saw tickets for $156.30 for a flight I want to take. Travelocity said it was round-trip including taxes and fees but not baggage fees. I picked the leaving out time and then picked the return time that added $0.00. When I got to the trip review it upped the ticket price to $246 something then also charged me a $24 booking fee. That is very deceptive. You can't tell me a price per tickets including taxes and fees and then charge me almost $100 per ticket, then add a booking fee on top of that. Not happy. I will never use travelocity again.

This company was a leader but they now have terrible service! They changed my flight reservation and never notified me. I booked a rental car with collision damage and paid 2X the rate at the counter.

Do yourself a favor and go direct to airline, rental company and hotel. You don't need this middleman messing up your precious few vacation days.

Fantastic travel bookings
November 30, 2017

Travelocity provides the best deals, great hotel packages & Google maps to very hotel location. Customer support is punctual & efficient. Hotel & flight prices seem cheaper through them than most other sites.

I will never order tickets through them again. When I called them about getting scammed into Savingsace the guy tried to tell me the 19.95 was a insurance charge!
Travelocity says click here to get $20 back on your booking. I asked him if he knew about Passport to Fun or SAvingsace and he said yes. I am writing to the Attorney
General in my state.

Worst travel booking experience I've ever had! The first leg of the outgoing flight I had booked was all of a sudden missing from my itinerary without me being provided any notice; it was only when I called about a schedule change that I realized it. Then they tell me my flight's been cancelled, no reason as to why, and tell me I have to call back the next day to talk to the airline! Call back the next day, and after almost an hour on the phone, the airline finally sorted it out for me. And when I tell Travelocity I'm unhappy with the service I've received, they say it's not their problem and they won't do anything about it! Sorry excuse for customer service!

A nightmare
February 18, 2023

I am planning a trip through Travelocity. It is a nightmare! I had to change my flight due to a family illness. I am traveling with my mom with a disability. Today when we looked at our bank statement and were shocked with the charges from them. I was online and on the phone for almost two hours with them and didn't get anywhere. Unfortunately, it has been an expensive and frustrating learning experience, but we will not make the same mistake again.

Awful Company
March 18, 2016

They booked my flight after telling me it wasn't available because of a fare increase, charged my credit card and didn't send confirmation. The only way I found out was the day before the flight when I receive their "check in" notice along with the flight I booked directly at the airline. Two flights for the same person. I thought, no problem. It's their mistake. Except they will not own up to it, and tried to email me the confirmation itinerary I never received in the first place. Mind you, this flight was not even available at this according to them because the fare had increased. I hope for the $300 fare they enjoy losing this formerly loyal customer. I had used the site dozens of times, but NEVER AGAIN

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
January 9, 2016

We have 14 people wanting to book a trip with us makes 16, I booked online, first when I booked the screen came up and said could not book at this time, checked bank account, charges came out, did not get a receipt called customer service, what idiots! Finally a "supervisor" called me back. Not much better. Barely spoke English. He had to type out a receipt, and send it to me via email. I went online to try and redo my trip and within 5 minutes it had gone down, $20.00 no biggie but when I told him his attitude what oh well, I told him about all the business they lost aprox. $8,400.00, did not care. Will let everyone know about this online. Do not book with them, if you do, print out the summary box before you book, cause you won't get one afterwards.

I ended up having to reschedule my airline ticket and this was the worst experience. I was on the phone for 5 and a half hours! The people did not have ANY idea what they were doing. I have a lot of experience with stuff like this and i can promise you i am not over exaggerating whatsoever. The service was dreadful and i will never be using it ever again.

We needed to cancel a hotel reservation and postpone a trip due to a death in the family. I offered to send the obituary link. No one cared. We've used Travelocity previously, with success. I will not use them again.

We spent two nights at Holiday Inn, Visalia, CA on November 26-28,2014 and was treated like royalty by the head chef, Venus and Erin at the registration desk. Check-in in and out was a breeze. The 3 course dinner prepared by Venus for my husband and I was beyond delicious and the portions were huge. Breakfast was included also and very good. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Holiday Inn to everyone traveling to or through Visalia. You will not be disappointed.

We've had it with this company. We tend to book vacations that costs 5 figures. We understand that is small peanuts compared to what Travelocity makes annually, but for us it is a big deal. For the past two years we've had issues with errors caused by the booking agent that has negatively affected our trips. They have refused to make things right despite there being recorded evidence of their agents' screwups. This year is the last year this company will make a dime from us.

Travelocity takes your money up front ($4,800 in my case).
If you cancel because sickness, or miss the first flight, they don't refund any money. Neither they refund hotel reservations, nor car rentals. Even when I had bought a $56 in travel insurance, they kept all the money. Their Berkley Insuranse Company declined my refund request in spite of providing medical letters as evidence.

A smart way to plan for travel is this;
1) Look for flights, hotels, and cars online. Compare and decide.
2) Buy air tickets directly from the airline, they do allow rescheduling.
3) Reserve the hotel, no money upfront. Able to change or cancel easily.
4) Reserve the car, no money upfront. Able to change or cancel easily
