Disgusting, the most disgraceful customer service I've ever had the displeasure of being on the receiving end of. These people charged my credit card over $100 more than the stated amount and would not answer my questions about this. They put me on customer service hold for hours at a time even though I specifically asked to speak to a manager. They lied to me and my bank and refused to even release the hold they kept on my credit after repeatedly telling me they released my funds. I had not spent a Christmas with my family in 9 years but due to their lies, and fraud it will now be 10 years. Dishonest, horrendous service, and no escalation process available. I'll never give them a penny again. Stay far away from TRAVELOCITY!
I stayed at the Super 8 in Fremont, Ne first time traveling using Travelocity everything worked without a hitch, walked in to check in staff was very friendly and made me feel very welcome, it's nice that see people enjoy there job like that. They had my room ready to go showed me where the continental breakfast would be in the morning and they had my favorite biscuits and gravy. Room was right temperature setting very clean it didn't look so much like place to sleep it felt more like a home away from home all definitely be using them in future.
If you want to have a vacation package these guys are probably the best. If you want to book individually and have a "custom" vacation trip then you should take more time and visit individual websites and companies to find the right options. There is really nothing wrong with travelocity, just there could be more flexibility. That being said, I am sure they are just adapting themselves to the market. Because they are a big player they seem to have deals with major airlines and hotel chains which means I actually found cheaper prices there sometimes than on their own websites. I had to use the customer service once and they were friendly, and real Americans. I have had nightmare experiences with foreign call centers but these people were real pros. Recommended for casual travelers.
When we travel, we always use this site. Not sure about a hotel? Want to try a new restaurant? Looking for sites to see in an unfamiliar area? Just head over to the customer reviews and find your answers here. I have to say that the total ratings given have always been pretty accurate
There are quite a lot of bad reviews but I used the service few times without any problems. Can recommend it but I use other websites like this as well. Can't say it's the best one but surely not the worst
We rented a car through Travelocity and Europcar. We we got to the counter the man said we need an international drivers license. We did not have one. He said to call Travelocity for the refund. We did not have internet at the time. So we walked across the room and rented from another agency. No problem. We got internet and looked at our agreement. It said that an international drivers license is needed if you have a " non-roman alphabet license". We both had US licenses in roman alphabet. I had to contact Travelocity several times but they sided with the car company. This is a scam they are in on it helping the car company rip off people. DO NOT RENT FROM EUROPCAR!
They tell you they cant do a name change til 72 hrs before the flight without checking out circumstances then when you call for the name change in the 3 day period they tell you too they say the airlines wont allow it. Well if you check with the airline first i would have had time to cancel the flight and rebuy the tickets without the last minute nightmare that will be customs due to travelocitys terrible customer service. Not to mention the huge language barrier when trying to explain this to customer service agents that barely speak english.
Purchased extra coverage for vehicle rental that we ended not using due to changing name on rental to my wife and having to add extra insurance coverage in her name. Which I understood being as that these were non transferable. Fine. Travelocity would not refund original cost of unused coverage and their call centers don't speak very good English and did not understand the situation so they put me on hold for an hour in hopes I would just hang up. Of course I did, it was obvious what they were doing. First and last time I or my family uses travelocity.
Booked round trip flights and then it charges my card three times for the same flight and then in addition told me the cost had gone up another $500 and asked me to book a new flight! Customer service gives no explanation and simply stated I will have the finds returning to me within 7-10 business days! This place should be shut down!
I can't stand the games this site plays with you. Pretty much all flights are non-refundable, and they charge you $200-$300 to make itinerary changes. However, is this the airlines policy? Generally not. I called Virgin and they said it would be no charge to change flights. Travelocity said that Virgin charges $300 to change flights. Who do you believe? Some call center agent making $9/hour, or the actual airline representative. Hotels.com/Travelocity/Sabre are all the same Persian guy who's been ripping off travelers for two decades now. For shame; for shame. Their hotel prices are the same as booking directly, and there are no rewards for using this site. Booking a trip for two, to wherever, maybe once a year for fixed dates? Fine. Any more than that a forget it.
I like to purchase from Travelocity but sometimes their system runs so poorly that I can't get an order placed for an hour. Very bad systems management - their customer service call in number is staffed with poorly trained staff.
The worst customer service! I've been overcharged, lied to by managers, put on hold for hours, disconnected multiple times, given numerous bogus phone numbers by managers, and still no resolution to my problem after weeks of trying to get help.
The overcharged me $1800 on a trip, said they would give me a credit and would not let me use it. Do not trust these people. Do your business elsewhere. I will NEVER use Travelocity.
Needed to cancel our reservation since we left Florida a day earlier. I was Able to cancel, but would still be charged $117. Called Travelocity spoke to Josh who took care of this issue. Since cancellations happen for good reason they don't care unless you get a good agent on the phone. Also, hotels do not get involved and direct you back to Travelocity.
I've been using Travelocity for perhaps 20 years or more with no problem. I just booked some nearly last-minute flights for an out-of-town funeral via Travelocity. It seems my old account had been lost so I created a new one and input my email and a password. But then I received no communications from Travelocity even though the airlines and Travelocity billed my credit card.
A chat cust. Service rep couldn't find any record of any flights for me even though I provided them the full credit card transactions. I then thought I'd try to check into one of the airlines using my credit card and lo and behold, there was the reservation that Travelocity had no record of. I was able to check-in this way.
I didn't even receive a receipt from Travelocity.
I simply can't use Travelocity again, the risk is too high that they will lose my records and could leave me high and dry when I most need it. I'll be using other service providers in the future.
My recent flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma. It took several hours on the phone to get the amount credited back to me (to be used within one year for another flight). Today I tried to use that credit. Another hour and a half on the phone and I find out that I can only use the credit on certain select flights (which of course are rotten travel times). I will never use Travelocity again (and I am a long time customer). This is the first problem I've had, but it has been handled very badly.
Tried to book a trip to Mexico, after Travelocity processed our $5,500.+ credit card charge, but the reservations didn't process. Two hours later, most of the time on hold, still no resolution for 24 hours more. Do yourself a favor. Do your research and book directly thru an airlines not this reseller.
Oh and the clincher, Travelocity supervisor said we were given a hotel credit of $100.00 (sent to our email) to compensate for our troubles. Is it there? NO NO ABSOLUTELY NO!
Will never book thru Travelocity again.
Their return policy is a total scam. I booked a flight 2 weeks away and needed to cancel and they won't return my money or give me credit back. Worst travel company I've ever used. They will take your money and not return it once you book with them.
Worst travel agent on the web. Terrible customer service. Travel protection plan is a scam.
You'll regret every minute you spend with them on the phone. I was on hold three times for over an hour each. Customer service agents are from a foreign country - ISIS I suspect by the fact they try to sabotage my travel plans.
I will never use them again and if you get Julie with customer service - hang up.
I rented a car and booked an airline flight with Travelocity this month. There was a problem with the Hertz Rent-A-Car reservation, which was prepaid. Basically, Travelocity was impossible to get a hold of. I tried multiple times to call them, but after 10 or 20 minutes each time nobody answered. Then I tried to make an online email complaint, and basically found out that you can't get a hold of them via online email! I got charged over hundred dollars for a car in Mexico City that I never saw. This company has some serious issues. I strongly recommend anyone reconsider using this service.
Booked a condo, flight for 4 and a car rental at Orlando Airport. We arrive at 3:49 and I put down we needed a car at 4:00 pm and three weeks after that booking I get notice that "my car" won't be available until 9 p.m. So chatted with Travelocity and oh there's nothing they can do…I always used Hotels.com before this and I'll go back to them.
Answer: They tell you that you can use the credit within 12 months. When you try to book the flight, there is no way to apply the credit yourself, so you have to speak with a rep to do it. They place you on hold for hours! When you finally do speak with someone who can help you, you are told there is a re-booking fee added to be able to use the credit, making it cost more than if you just purchase a new ticket without adding the "credit"! Bottom line is that they say there is no penalty and that you get the credit, but you do not. They are liars and unethical, at best.
Answer: Bridgett, It is simply because this company has terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE customer service! It seems like the people who gave positive reviews have not had to make any changes in their arrangements--if they needed to change something, I believe their experience would have been negative. Who wants to do business with a company that is only a fair weather friend? Not me! This was by far the WORST experience I have had in dealing with a company. I will never use them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them.
Answer: I don't know that. All I know is that I will not use them ever. They basically let me go after I had payed for the tickets. They are not an honest company. Good luck I hope you find your answers.
Answer: I totally disagree, you will never understand if you don't like to understand. If you try tonipen your ears and listen carefully without so much objections in mind, i bet you will understand. If you are a frequent flyer, you will know that these travel agencies has no control of the policies of the tickets, as they are implemented by airlines. And when you book a trip online, either from travel agencies or airlines websites, you will be informed of the policies. I bet you know how to read and understands simple english word, like non refundable right?
