Impossible to fault the service I have received. 3rd time of use, their communication is excellent, my currency (Euros) has always arrived when I have asked for it by and their pricing is the best every time. I have had occasion to speak with them once and they sorted out my problem with an urgent date without fuss. Highly recommended.
I ordered euros from TravelFX who I have used for a few years now. The money did not arrive and so I contacted Royal Mail who had no idea what had happened to it. After two days and two trips to the sorting office they confessed to having LOST it.
That was not TravelFX's fault clearly but I was disappointed when they told me I had to wait until they had ordered a refund from Royal Mail. I was leaving for my holiday and so had to buy more euros from a high street bureau (at a less favourable rate). On my return two weeks later Travel FX told me they were going to make a refund. This was of my sterling and not a redelivery of the euros I had bought. I was happy to have the original order repeated as I could use the euros later but as the rate had slipped they refused to honour the purchase. I explained that if I bought a kettle online that did not arrive I would expect it to be redelivered and not refused on the grounds that their prices had risen in the meantime. It is no nearly two months since the original order and I still have not had a refund. I will not be using TravelFX again as their attitude has been appalling - they don't understand the meaning of customer service and are quite happy to lose a customer who has been using them for years.
I found a high street bureau who were offering a better rate than TravelFX - give them a try as you can pick your money up and not have to worry about it not arriving - eurochange (they have branches over 100 branches).
Don't believe the "Next Day" delivery promise on their website. Not true! Not worth the hassle, you won't get your money back - not sully anyway, even if you cancel your order within less than 24 hours- and won't receive your currency. I will never use them again!
Bought the currency as they offered good rates but it took almost a week to process and I had already left on holiday. Cancelled the order and received over £250 less than I had spent.

I ordered my currency on line, after checking all the exchange rates and selecting the best one, It was a little past their cut off time for next day delivery.
I had an email from them telling me I should have my guaranteed delivery by the following day before 1pm
Well it is now 08.39 and Royal mail has just delivered my currency.
Very impressed, will certainly be using Travel Fx again and will be telling friends and family about the great service.
This company had the best exchange rate that I could find. I ordered money and paid via BACS by 8.30am on Thursday for apparently, next day delivery by 1pm. On Friday, no sign of my money. At 2pm I phoned only to be told that my money was dispatched. It's now Saturday and still no sign. Awful awful service and not what you need just before going on holiday.

I would always be reluctant to trust Royal Mail or indeed any delivery service for short-notice delivery, and I would always give as much notice as possible when ordering less common currencies- like Omani rial etc.
Used properly, I think TravelFX is a superb service, with very competitive rates and fees.
I ordered my Chinese currency over the early May Bank holiday weekend (02/05/2015) and requested my currency to arrive by 16/05/2015.
The postman arrived earlier today (07/05/2015) with my currency.
It really has been a fantastic service - The rates offered by Travel FX are superior to any other rates I've seen. I would certainly recommend using them in future.
Ordered currency for next day delivery to get an email to say they had insufficient funds.
I therefore asked them to cancel but said my money had been received and the trade made? They are charging me ridiculous fees now £25 plus 1 per cent of amount plus whatever it costs to reverse trade. I am so gutted that this has happened. Please be aware that there is no guarantee of stock or delivery.

We have used FX several times and are very confident with the service they offer. System is secure and user friendly, delivery is secure and always on time, a good mix of notes and best rates of exchange. Not for Small amounts (for me that is) so the trust factor is essential./

From my number of experiences, TFx have been consistently superior in terms of exchange rates, delivery times and personal assistance to individual customers. Perhaps what sets this firm part is that they have names and personalities; Manager Steve Luck seems particularly affable. I shall continue to use this trustworthy firm and I recommend them without reservation.

Used previously successfully. Ordered Omani currency on Friday morning 'required by' Monday. Without contacting me to say this could not be fulfilled, they dispatched the money on the Monday that arrived after we had left. With charges and buy back, this has cost me over £60 for something they should not have sent. They are hiding behind the small print but this is licence to print money. I will neither use again nor recommend - AVOID!

Both thumbs down! I have used Travel FX previously but am disappointed at their service recently. Placed an order on Saturday and was under the impression that I would get the order by Tuesday the latest. Afterall, it's clearly stated on their website that "it's next day delivery". How untrue! I suggest they change it as this is most misleading! I'm aware there is an asterisk there which refers to a tiny print at the bottom of the page that's only if they have stock! This should be on top of the page NOT at the bottom!
When I called to check they said the money won't arrive until Wed! They say their couldn't accommodate my request despite I pleaded with them (I was travelling on Wed itself). They essentially said either I pay £25 to cancel the order or just have to proceed with the order despite they actually haven't ordered the currency when I rang first thing on Monday! So too bad for them they will loose a customer and I will discourage my family members / friends to use them.
Ordered our currency. Currency arrived promptly. Got the best rate on the market. Can't fault this company.
I purchased South African Rands and transfered my payment however the next day they emailed to say they would not fulfill the order as they published the wrong exchange rate. They held on to my money overnight!. If a customer cancels the order they have to pay £25 from what I read in their T&C! Terrible customer service and attitude towards the situation. Strongly Reccomend you avoid this company, many companies out there that when you buy from them actually honour the rate they publish!
I have been using TravelFX for about 2 years. The first occasion was for £1200. 00 for South African Rand, also had Turkish Lira, and two transactions of about £1000. 00 of euros,
Every transaction has been as planned. Order online, receive email with payment instructions, pay, receive update emails, receive money on time. Every transaction not one problem.
The latest transaction on euros was 2 cents above the nearest, including a company that I use to transfer funds to a European bank account.

Answer: Be careful with bank transfers. They will receive your money and it will be confirmed in time BUT they may withhold giving you your currency unless you provide them with all your sensitive personal information e.g DoB, 3 months bank statements, work details etc. via unsecured email. Your decision ultimately if you want to provide because if you cancel they will charge a huge cancellation fee of something like 10%. Always best to use credit card with them.
