Tortoise Town did exactly what I wanted and did what they said they would - deliver healthy wonderful turtles. I ordered three albino red ear slider turtles which arrived all bundled up about a month or so ago. I was so happy with them that I ordered a fourth they also came bundled up well. They are thriving healthy turtles that are fun to watch and to care for. I could not be happier with them or the service I got from Tortoise Town.
I placed an order going on two weeks now, I got a notification saying my order was shipped, however the site says they do overnight shipping, it's now been three days and I haven't even gotten a notification that they have been received by ups. I have not gotten any contact from the owners as they will not return my emails or calls.
I wish i did better research before buying a tortoise from Tortoise Town. We ordered a 1 year old Greek Tortoise from these people. The tortoise did not show up days after it was supposed to, when we finally got hold of them they were incredibly rude and basically told us to suck it up. ZERO customer service. The tortoise became very ill shortly after receiving it and after taking it to the vet, we were informed that the tortoise was at least 5 years old, NOT a Greek tortoise and was more than likely taken from the wild. The tortoise died 2 days later. Any attempts to contact Tortoise Town were unsuccessful. Do not buy from these people as they clearly do not care about their animals!
My tortoise arrived dead and getting a replacement has been slow. I sent in the shipping fee for a new one but no response yet
Great communication between the staff and myself. When I had questions on their service, care of my turtle and the guarantee, they always got back to me immediately. Received my turtle in excellent condition and I am very pleased.
I bought a Russian Tortoise for my son and got a well started hatchling. He is a very healthy active lil guy and seems pretty social for a new pet. We are so pleased. I definitely would recommend Tortoise town to others, shipping was clean and packaged with heat pad. This made my sons Christmas New Year! Thank you Tortoise Town.
We tried to get a creasted gecko from them. It didn't say it was out of stock. They took my money right away. Then once a few days went by I emailed them to ask about our gecko. Was told they need to watch her for 7-10 days to make sure she was good to go. Still did not here back from them, so I emailed again asking 7-10 days from the day I ordered or when they got her. They claimed when I ordered. Few days still nothing. My husband called to ask about it. No one answered. We waited 2 days it says 24 hours they will call back. We emailed and asked them again and nothing. So we said fine we want to cancel. They emailed right back said okay but they need to take a 20% fee. We told them we didn't think that was right because I don't believe they had our gecko at all and they never responded to us after we called and emailed. Please do not ordered from them.
Ordered two het ivory Sulcata turtles and received them this morning. Suppose to be male and female however not sure which is which. Says they came with a care sheet but they didn't. One arrived dead and the other severely sick. Won't eat, can't open its eyes and barely moves. Took to the vet for antibiotics and was told it'll be an uphill battle and not to expect the best. When you try to call they never answer so you have to leave voicemail that they never return. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever encountered. And the worst quality pets ever
I had a great experience with Tortoise Town. I ordered a red eared slider and it came to us well packaged. I had no problems at all. They were very responsive and they seem to really care about the reptiles. I highly recommend using them. They seem to have a good selection.
Tortoise Town won't be straight with emails or calls so I'm going to tell all our friends who have been asking us where to get their new family member from NOT HERE! Ordered on the 26th and nothing but a run around. Said at first high temps. Even though it was the coolest day for both NJ and Florida the day they should have shipped. At first it was later this week. Then next week. They said our tortoise was in Florida (where I am) and spoke to the rep in Florida on the phone. It's not. Gave me her bosses info to call and Brian won't answer. They want to charge 20% to cancel. They can ship to Florida from NJ to their office but not my home?
Meanwhile we found another amazing business to support. Easiest transaction ever. Ordered the 29th and arrived the 30th from Las Vegas healthy and happy via UPS. And for 175 vs $464.00. Only positive reviews. Tortoise town has so many negative ones out there when you start looking harder.
If I can give 0 stars I would. I had ordered a Male Southern Painted Turtle and I never recieved it. I called customer support with no response, So I email the support team a man named Christopher responds a day later and dismisses me at any point not taking accountability for providing the provider. I understand packages get lost but I am not responsible for that in any way what so ever. Ultimately I am very displeased with the whole company and their lack of accountability.
The person who helped me with the two torts I had that were sick [that I got some where else which ended up passing] was very helpful, He went threw everything I had set up and suggested a fogger. If you are looking to buy a tort or a reptile I would recommend them highly. They are knowledgeable on what they sell. I have bought two torts from them and they are healthy.and nice looking. I would give a 10 star if they had it. I'm very pleased! I would buy again from them.
These people will take your money and send fake tracking information. They are responsive to texts to give the illusion of being legitimate. They never shipped the animal and did nothing to rectify the situation. You will lose your money if you shop with this joke of a website.
Spent ~300 dollars, purchased a tortoise which arrived unhealthy and wouldn't eat. After 3 weeks of several emails, finally received a response from tortoise town with a sad face. Since it was past the one week guarantee, they would not replace. The baby tortoise they sent me lived for about two weeks. Also, the hatchling they sent me was literally a few days old.
Purchase from a reputable breeder who will back their animals. These guys don't respond back to your inquiries, send newborn animals, and won't back them.
I ordered 2 YB sliders and they sent me 2 southern cooters. I reached out to them about it and after taking a while to respond they finally did and stated that they could do a "partial" refund or I could ship the wrong ones back. They apologized for their mix up. I told them I would be glad to send them back if they would pay the $40 shipping because it was not my mix up and I should not have to pay anymore money. If not then I should get a full refund because I specifically wanted yellow belly sliders. Their response to this was that "as previously stated we can offer you a partial refund". Needless to say I will never order anything from them again and I would not suggest doing business with them.
Initially ordered a juvenile Western Painted turtle; I contacted customer service 9 days after I placed the order because it hadn't shipped yet. I was told juvenile Western Painted turtles were out of stock. That should have been posted on the website before I placed the order. I was offered a baby Eastern Painted turtle which I accepted. I got it 2 days later. It went right into the water after waking up from it's journey and is doing fine after 4 days.
I was looking for a tortoise for my mom for some time, I did my research on places to buy and made my purchase with Tortoise Town. They are absolutely wonderful, we received "Josephine" who is a hatchling Sulcata. She is gorgeous, healthy and active.

After months of waiting on another site for the requested animal I asked for a refund and went to Tortoise Town. Within a week the animal arrived health, hungry and bright eyed! The same day the owners sent me detailed instructions on how to care for a hatchling (which they didn't have to do) and gave me advice on how to improve my habitat. Like i said, if i could give them 10 stars I would. By the way, I am still waiting on the refund check from the other site.
I purchased two tortoise plus food and UVB light from them, three days ago I received the baby tortoise but no food and UVB light, right away, I called, left a message, and Email. But no one call back. No one response the Email. Now my baby tortoise is suffering from cold and hunger. Please do not purchase anything from this seller!
So I ordered some turtles and they all came dead so I emailed tortoise town and after a couple weeks of unhelpful emails I was told no refunds and I had to pay shipping for my replacements which is a scam, but I paid the 40$ shipping again and then they completely stopped emailing me back and 2 weeks later after paying the 2nd shipping fee I haven't heard anything or gotten any replacements so basically I got scammed twice from one purchase. And only dead turtles buried in the yard about 300$ later. It is illegal to sell turtles under 4 inch's in any state. If they fix this I will remove this review.
