Swanson recently sent e-mails to customer for free shipping if you purchase at least 50 dollars. However, when I tried to check out after a minimum of $50 purchase they are still charging shipping cost. What a scam! I called customer service and was told that certain merchandise is excluded from the $50 minimum purchase but the ad did not show any exclusion. She said that you have to read the fine prints and it is available on another screen. After arguing with her and told her that I will bring this false advertisement with the Attorney General, she said she will adjust my bill to reflect the free shipping. This is how SWanson operates. If you don't complain they will try to cheat.

Called to place order asked sales person that answered the call to personlly make sure the product in was interested had a specific Vitamin D3.

After 2 minuter on hold the sales person came back on the line and told me it did. I ordered the product.

When I received the product id had the wrong D3. When I call to verify if Swansons had the correct product in stock the sales person told me they only carry the product that i received and told me how to return the product.

I checked with the manufactor of the product and was informed that no longer make the formula I was looking for. It has been three weeks since I returned the wrong product and Swanson is still offering a product that is no longer available.

If they cannot correct what they offer how many of the products they offer are out of date or show the wrong product information. DO YOU TRUST THEM I DONT

They cancelled my first order because my billing address did not match my shipping address, and claim they sent me an email informing me, but I received nothing.

They cancelled the second order a week later, also without informing me. The chat service (LiveHelpNow) says "the order was flagged for suspected fraud and cancelled."

I have had problems with this company in the past, too. Their online interface is simply too dinosaur-era to trust. Do not do business with them.

If you MUST do business with them (they DO have good prices and product selection), CALL them, do NOT order online.

Ignore planted reviews! I was a customer for 35+ years and, after Lee Swanson sold out to an LBO group the company has gone so far downhill I am DONE. I am now buying from VitaCost and iHerb with a few Lucky Vitamin orders thrown in. The customer service is APPALLING. The company is untrustworthy - expired products. The promos are sleazy. Add cheap fillers being used. Cheap, slow shipping. Instead of shipping to my home vs my PO Box - which I have stipulated for DECADES - they sent my package to the PO Box. I go to the post office once a month. When I called they would not make it right. THEIR FAULT. Would not make it right. Thank God they have competition. STAY AWAY!

I have been using Swanson Vitamins for many years and am very satisfied with their products and service. I use a number of herbal supplements and vitamins to control my blood sugar and overall well being. The products my husband and I use are always high quality, and do what they say they will do. I have never had any order or shipping issues.

Placed needed vitamin order May 26, finally received June 12. The order sat at DHL hub 90 miles away since June 1! This is unacceptable. Received in a mylar bag way too large for it with no padding, bottle just rolling around in it. Who knows if the vitamins are any good, now that they've sat around in 90+ degree Florida heat in a hub for 11 days. CS number associated with the order didn't even answer phones at 4:30 pm Eastern time!

With numerous reviews regarding shipping issues this company needs to obviously change their shipping method. Sounds like they don't care about customer satisfaction. Waiting 17 days for an order is unacceptable! Will never purchase again.

I have purchased from Swanson Vitamins for nearly ten years. I put in an order for $71.00 and paid via Paypal. For some reason, they charged my credit card $97.00.

It's been nearly ten days and I haven't received my items either.

I've had a heck of a time reaching customer service. At this point, I've just decided to dispute the charge and send every single item back. I cannot trust this company any longer.

Next day edit: I did received a credit for the difference that will hit my Paypal account in 3 to 5 days. I'm still gun shy about trusting this company again.

Chose several things and half the items I wished to order could not be shipped to California. I'm confused about that as I think I'm able to order the same things from other places with no problem. I looked at the 'restricted' list of items that can't be shipped to California and it appears to be most of their stock, so unfortunately I don't think I can do business with them regularly. I realized that this is some weird California thing and not Swanson with Prop 65, another way California kills business in the state.

Don't do any international business with them. Their packages get held up by customs and you're on your own trying to get them with an external import agent and you get charged for storage while your package is being held for ransom. Apparently, the company would rather lose all your future busness than to reimburse for losing your package.

I have bought Swanson Vitamins online for years and have always been satisfied with the shipping. I often pay 2.99 instead of going for free shipping because by the time I get around to ordering I am low or out of product.
For the most part I order the Swanson label product, and I always read the reviews first.
The quality seems good and the prices, especially for the Swanson label products, are good.
The only 'issue' I have is with the website which is a little clunky.

Swanson makes good products at a good price. I don't have any problems ordering well in advance to get them on time. But I do have problems when I place an order, receive a thank you -- and then the order is blown off by the company and NEVER shipped! Today makes the 3rd time this has happened. If you still want to order from these folks, please remember to save copy of your order and verify. You'll be able to re-order timely in case your order was tossed by their "system". Plus you'll remember what you ordered in the first place so you can duplicate. Their discounts are a joke -- they say you get them --- but you DON'T!

My family has been buying from Swanson's since they began. We place a large order about every 6 weeks and it used to be here in 3-4 days. My order left their warehouse on 3/1/2018 and was promised by 3/7/18; I called when it had not arrived on the 8th, I got some excuse, now it is the 12th, it might be here on the 14th. What I was told by a rude supervisor on the 8th was "you should have used expedited shipping". Good-bye Swanson's you are obviously too big to care anymore.

Corporate office has been making horrible changes... i live about 110 miles from their pa warehouse (about 1 1/2) hours away. Yet it still takes 6 or 7 days to get my order. Particularly when coupons or free shipping is involved! Also planning is impossible because their pricing fluctuates from time to time probably due to free shipping over 49.00 and use of coupons. I have found several companies on line (you must look) that are extremely competitive with excellent shipping times and top quality products. After years of buying from swanson i can save time and $$$ going elswhere. I am now buying three or four items from them every other month rather the ten to fifteen items i was buying, and saving at the same time! I personaly beleive they are too large to change and wont change any time soon, period...

Every time I re-order exactly the same thing 1,2, or 3 months after the last order... it's always that time that I have to raise my voice and use curse words to these people who always charge 2 or 3 dollars more than the last time for any product!
They have a very predictable excuse always... that it was on special discount the last time I ordered... every time! What other company actually does this? And the shipping hassle would take up another paragraph!

When you place a $100 order, you expect quick shipping, even if, because of the size of the order you placed qualified you for 'free' shipping. It can be two weeks until you get your order. Also, if you 'try' to order by Paypal, and one of the items in your order is out of stock, you will be asked to use a credit card instead. My fix to this, is to delete the out of stock item from your list and order via Paypal. Credit card orders, from my last experiences, get no immediate email acknowledgement to the buyer that you placed your order. Also, I have not received any shipping notification with my last two or three orders placed via credit card. Ordering with Paypal, you get an almost immediate email notification of your 'placed' order. Products that Swanson Vitamins provides, in general, I am most pleased with.

Shipping is stupid post.

The problem with Swanson is the slow shipping. When you need vitamins and they take two weeks to ship and they don't care, you are stuck with nothing. Fedex is very slow and Swanson takes their time shipping items out, plus they use stupid post which makes it worse. How can this company stay in business treating customers this way!

I have shopped Swanson before. When they offer a percent off, along with free shipping, they do not give you the option of upgrading shipping so that the order arrives in 4 or 5 days. Vitaworld and other sites give you the option. I would rather pay the $7.99 and get it in a few days. Waiting 10 days, or longer, is unacceptable! Maybe I am just to accustomed to Amazon Prime and 2 day shipping.

Swanson Vitamin is an excellent company with great products at a low price. I would give the company 4 stars.
However, I would give Swanson Vitamin a 1 Star for not telling Californian customers up front that they can't ship a huge amount of products to California. You only find out that half of what you order can't be shipped when you are checking out, having wasted much time.
The problem isn't Swanson, it is California's stupid Proposition 65-the toxic materials and clean water prop. Apparently, Swanson either operates in CA or has a huge distribution site there.
I live in California. I worked as an RN, BSN, and Prop 65 is posted on Clinic and Hospital doors, warning that inside people may be exposed to toxic chemicals. Ridiculous!
I AM JUST FRUSTRATED THAT SWANSON DOESNT LET CALIFORNIA CUSTOMERS KNOW UP FRONT THAT THEY CANT SHIP CERTAIN PRODUCTS TO CALIFORNIA!
Because of this shipping problem, I no longer buy from Swanson. I'd spend a long time ordering things, only to find out at the check-out that I can't get 1/3 to 1/2 of what I ordered.
So, I think Swanson is a good company; however they need to stop wasting our time by specifying items that can't be shipped to CA because of idiotic Prop 65. Thank you.
