I had a customer accidentally pay me using stripe because the invoice maker I used to bill her had a direct payment link through stripe. I had to set up an account to receive the money and they held it indefinitely pending a "review" where they asked me for all kinds of information including my price sheets and my work equipment. They were treating this as if I applied for a job with them or something. I STILL have not received the money nor has my customer gotten refunded and this has been since June 29th so over a week. If I had used cashapp I would have received the money within seconds. Do NOT let them into your life. They are worse than PayPal. I'm sure they'll keep their fee they took off of it too if I ever see the money at all. Also there is nobody you can call for help it's all done by messages. Absolute hell.
Non-existent customer service. Seems like they let bots do all their work. My business was shut down because apparently "They have identified payments that don't appear to have authorized by the customer" Isn't that the point of their fraud detection system to prevent that? Doesn't "challenge-flows" exist to make sure the one making the transaction is the owner? Why is the business' responsibility if a fraudulent payment goes through? I'm not the payment processor. You guys are. I only had little less than 100 transactions and no chargebacks whatsoever and they closed my account and refunded all my customers.
You can't work with them without submitting to biometric scanning of your face and other invasive information. Never dealt with a professional company that requires this. I suspect their a processor for shady businesses, this would account for their crude and unprofessional manner. It seems there should be laws against their behavior. If a company wants me to pay with Stripe, that's my clue to stay away. At this point, I have declined to make purchases or work with several online sellers who use Stripe. Not worth the hassle. It's a shame, as I really wanted the products/services, but I don't trust Stripe at all.
Stripe is to be avoided at all costs. They are incompetent, dishonest and unethical. They are also holding onto money far too long and inciting chargebacks / refunds that do not exist. It makes you wonder where that money is going?
They claimed our non profit was too high risk, randomly froze our accounts and started to debit unauthorized amounts from our business accounts because they decided to close out account with them.
They are pure criminals, liars and thieves. You are advised to work with any other good and competent payment processor— please save yours self the headache and choose to partner elsewhere. This is not as good company and the people are sadistic and awful in their conduct when it comes to small businesses and organizations.
I tried for over 2 weeks to set up an account with no success! Horrible service! I have a long history of credit card sales as an Electrical Contractor and they fixiated on my not having a website based processing site. My
I have been dealing with them for a week now on a problem caused by them. I use the contact link, no one calls back. I send numerous emails, no one responds. They have now moved to steal money from our account with no proper communication whatsoever. If you have not started using a cc processing company, DO NOT use Stripe. They are absolutely useless.
Stripe is ineffective at processing your information. After I made a change to my bank account numbers, they basically blocked me from any of my money and now I am screwed. Don't use Stripe. It's impossible to get anybody on the phone to get anything straightened out. I'm a Gloss Genius business and unfortunately Stripe was the payment processor they used on being new to business. I had no idea how poorly run everything is. I'm definitely going to have my customers pay cash from here on out until I find a processing company that aren't sharks.
Stripe is withholding 25% of our funds but won't provide data on why they are withholding. We've had 1 chargeback in 7 years. All customer "support" does is send policy which says nothing. I believe they have the wrong company, but they won't review our account and in order for us to ditch them we would need to change our entire platform.
Avoid platforms who exclusively use Stripe.
Big scam! Watch out!
2 same sites, same products, other language, just on another domain, 1 was accepted, 1 was rejected because in violation of their conditions. They don't even have plugins...
They let you test, which takes hours and then...
We had turn over with Stripe of 2.1M USD during last 1.5 year. On Saturday our account was closed without further notice, during sales season. We had been blamed of infringing upon, or facilitate the infringement of, the intellectual property, while we are selling only original brand products, we have right to sell in UK and European Union. Stripe was already discussing with us this issue earlier, and few months ago we did resolved it successfully, now they re-voke this issue again and blocked account 1 day after black Friday. Many sales lost, they also blocked us possibility to contact with them by the phone or the chat. If this happened to us, can happen with everybody.
EDIT: We've been verified for the same issue by the Stripe.com twice - on April and may 2020. And we had verified that time we are eligible. Now they closed our account in the peak of the season, after black Friday and 2 days before cyber Monday. It's an incredible coincidence
The non-profit I work for has used stripe for a couple years. Until now its gone just fine. A staff person accidently charged the wrong card a significant amount but they caught the mistake immediately and canceled the charge. Within 10 minutes. Stripe will not refund the service charge nor will they even come close to repsonding to our complaint. We would gladly pay a recovery fee of $50 to $100 but to charge us nearly $2,000 as if the transaction was completed is unacceptable. Stay away from Stripe.
Im honestly chocked how many people have the same experience as me, they say I'm a threat etc. I provide everything needed, they still don't verify me.
They lie that my client didn't verify his card although for me it says he did(see picture in swedish).
They don't reply to my emails, they don't pay me my money.
They say they will return the money to the buyer although he got his watch delivered. I've provided everything, every single document. And they still treated me like this.
Horrible company…Credit card processing company Stripe wasted over 11 hours of my time and refused to give me $240.57 USD only and specifically because of an internal issue between Stripe and the credit card holder's bank. Stripe apologized 100 times and acknowledged the problem with purely an internal one between them and the bank…nothing to do with me or the person who paid by credit card. Nonetheless, Stripe would not give me the money despite an email from Stripe saying I would receive the money within so many days. So basically, there was an internal issue and rather than give me the money as they promised via email, instead they gave me the run-around for weeks saying they would try to resolve the internal issue and get back to me. Don't bother with Stripe. Horrible…
So I had a little problem. Refunds were being sent back to customers. So I contacted stripe and they gave me a few security issues to take care of. Done. After all that, still wasent fixed. I sent another email. Cause you can't talk to anyone on the phone! They returned my email saying they can't support my company/business. Cause it was high risk! High risk? I sell T-shirt's… my own personalized legal tshirts. All original designs of my own. They dropped me like a hot rock instead of making this work. Dont use stripe. Nobody to talk to Incase there is a problem. And seems like they don't know how to fix problems.
2 years ago I had a $3200 chargeback. Stripe authorized the purchase, but when push came to shove, they quickly realized they messed up, and I lost $3200. They also kept the $100 fee as an added bonus for their incompetence. Yesterday, I had another charge come through for $2955. It reeks of fraud, so I contacted Stripe to let them know. They assured me the payment was OK, but I know it is not, and because it smells really fishy, I wanted to refund the transaction. Thats when I learned they would keep their $86 fee, again, even though the charge was fraudulent, and also learned they would tap into my bank account as needed to do the refund, so in short, I would have had to cover a $6K float. Switching service this week or next... there have to be better providers out there that are equally expensive... cant imagine there'd be one that is worse but we'll see. Probably going to Square.
I was unable to be near my original debit card listed for payments. I tried to change the information to another card. There is supposed to be a button that specifically says"I don't have access to my card" at this time. That button didn't show up on my account and after 2 days, 7+ emails, 4 attempts to speak to a live human person, 3 emails back telling me to talk to the other support person I am still no closer to being able to change my information in their site do the payments still just go to the wrong account...So very, very frustrated with this site.
I have been requested to provide the same information over 7 times in the past 2 months. Been assured the situation is handled just to get the same message a week later. NEVER had a customer complaint or refund request. These people are idiots.
Nearly impossible to use their "service" if it exists at all, which I doubt. They want irrational verifications and then pretend to be helpful and talk like they're your best buddy - you know the drill. Only they are far worse than most who act this way while they are supposed to be working. I pity the folks who have hired them; this won't end well.
This company will return any charges even if the customer got what they ordered. Then they close your account and keep the money for months. You can't even talk to a live person after they close your account. Its crazy if you ask me and I don't know how they would get away with that.
I have in transcripts and I quote "it is safe for you to accept payments while account is under verification and you will have access to your money next week"
Waited until last day to tell me that they are cancelling my account and telling me they are holding my funds in a reserve for refunds.
So when I tried to refund everyone they tried for take more money out of my account because the reserve is apparently for disputes and refunds from the customer not the merchant.
Which I think is complete nonsense... why are they holding it in reserve if I can't actually get to it to refund people?
Avoid stripe at all costs if you value your money.
Update: They now have no phone or chat support because I no longer have a stripe account and the person who I have under transcript is "not available"
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
Answer: These are the most significant crooks in the industry but they will get what they deserve I joined a group how will exposed there behavior. It is impossible that they can keep on operating and not get arrested
