The music variety has gotten worse and worse over the years. They've taken to playing the same "twenty" songs over and over and over no matter what channel you listen to. Then they discontinue channels from vehicles or move them to another location that older vehicles cannot get. On top of that their rates get higher and higher. Just try to contact them and ask why or to cancel your service. It's just like calling old phone companies, cable companies, etc. We're Sirius, we don't care, we don't have to.
It takes forever for them to understand what "cancel my membership" means. After I actually got them to cancel after an hour of me telling them to cancel it, they "canceled it" a month later they charged my card again and wouldn't stop harassing me till the charge went through though I explained I already canceled the membership. I recommend getting Spotify premium, it's 100 times better than XM, can hook up to blue tooth, has a ton of playlist and podcast to choose from, and you don't have to argue with someone when you want to cancel.
The photos are from the second time I tried to cancel. I tried to cancel three times.
Siriusx are worse than scam callers. They won't stop calling, emailing, and mailing me. I didn't even sign up for they're $#*! service, I got automatically signed up because i got a new car. I tried calling, emailing, and requesting for deletion, but none of them work. They even started resorting to putting IMPORTANT in the mail they send to make me open them. The most desperate company I have every seen.
I love the SiriusXM app and it has alot of channels you can listen too with variety of genre music. I mainly like the premium Pandora where you can customize your channel. Its a great way to listen at home with your kids and family. The workers are very warm hearted and compassionate as well. Highly recommend to get SiriusXM Radio!
My wife bought a new vehicle in June and added Sirius XM when the promotion expired. Signed up for a year and was told I had to wait 1 month to get it changed from auto renew to bill pay. I called today as per my notes and was told that this cannot happen. I ask to be transferred to a supervisor and was told they were sorry that I was told incorrectly by their representative, but there was nothing they could do. The customer service for Sirius is horrible. Never can get a straight answer and I am past fed up with the BS. Will be discontinuing service on this vehicle just as I did on my car several months ago. I haven't missed it yet and won't miss it when I discontinue the service on this vehicle. If they would just do what they say it wouldn't be a problem, but they don't care. Sadly this is very common in the times in which we live.
Terrible service, awful commercials, and a nightmare to cancel it. Website does not work to cancel it, app does not work to cancel it, phone number nobody pick it up and the chat the ask you a lot of questions and keep forcing you to keep the subscription even you text 15 times to cancel it. Terrible experience.
I had Sirii xm for years on 3 autos. Every year a new hassle. They should fire some of these unprofessional telemarketers that keep calling weeks after I cancelled and maybe they could afford to lower their prices.
Low on content - Artists and songs repeat. Thought I was to be a fan of 1st Wave when I got a three month trial with my newly acquired used Lexus. A lot of artists are not represented (eg. Kate Bush - a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer), Gary Numan, Heaven 17, Ultravox, just to name a few. Too much Clash, Police, Depeche Mode. They seem to be centralized cut / artist rotation per given time period. Richard Blade - not a fan and seems to be on all the time I tune in (early in the morning is by far the best time for listening.) Only game in town on this Sirius FM, 80's on 8 is way too "poppy" for my taste. Other channels like Classic Vinyl again lacks the artist and deep cuts I like. The lone 60's channel I tune away from as fast as I tune it. The Beatles channel plays more alternate takes, other artists playing Beatles songs, and solo efforts than Beatle songs! (I caught a Beatles tune on the 60's channel while they were playing Billy Preston on the Beatles Channel.) Find myself channel surfing rather than staying tuned, and a lot of times failed to find something I can tolerate. So, I may ask, what is this subscription all about? Nothing special. My CD collection is far better.
I got Sirius XM as part of a new car purchase. It "expired" after about 6 months and they called to offer an extension for a few months at $2/month. After the $2 extension expired, I assumed it had expired as they indicated it would but now I find they've been charging me $30/month since the inexpensive extension expired.
I canceled this morning. As others have mentioned, the process takes a while (I used the chat service) but it went reasonably well and can't complain (much) other than I feel like I should be able to cancel service without having to spend 45 minutes chatting online to do so.
I recommend proactively canceling service if you don't use the "free" trial service that comes with the car.
Deceitful and very sneaky. They raise the prices without as much as an amail, even an auto generated one. And when you want to cancel, it seems like you have to go through more pains dealing with various other options at lower costs etc...just BS from this company...if you have a cell phone and a newer car with Bluetooth, get your music, news, podcats for free...
Honestly only gave this 1 star cause I didn't have a choice, but if it was up to me -5 stars. I hate this company so much,, I don't normally write reviews but the one has been a headache. False advertisements and they charge more than what they say they're gonna. And good luck trying to get it canceled. They just hang up on me. Asked me my to stop payments and they weren't able to. Just please don't fall for this trap. I'm writing this review so nobody will be dumb as I was and made the same mistakes. Your honesty better at just getting Spotify
I called after being charged 31.00 for a month after my car purchase trial ended.
They offered me 7.99 a month promo. I said no. Then she offered 18.00 for a year. I said yes. She credited 13.00 to make it 18.00 …for a year. Today (a month later) was charged 7.99 …I called and was told that's my plan.
Done. They are shady. There are so many services for less money. Not worth the money or aggravation
Talking to Sirius xm, 1st they won't honor the Samsung agreement, they want a physical letter, even if you use the link at Samsung. 2nd the Sirius xm rep would not stop talking even after I said good by 3 times.
That's just plan rude, they must be paid by every word they say!
When I purchased my car the dealer wouldn't let me leave until I set up sirius xm... this is a bad practice, I forgot to cancel and they automatically charged my card. Then I cancelled when I saw it and they have been calling me daily for over three months... this is harrassment. I am about ready to get an air horn and blow it everytime they call me. The calls start as early as 7 am and continue until 9 pm. Don't let the dealer activate it on your car unless you really want it. I wish I knew of their inablity to accept no for answer.
Worst company ever. They don't fu**ing understand that when you say no to them it means no... they don't understand and they keep harassing you... I've had almost 200 phone calls asking me to sign up with them when I've clearly told them no... stop acting like zionists and listen to your customers. If they say stop attacking, stop it. Complete bunch of tw*ts!
Not only did it constantly Acquire signal but when I tried to cancel the Indian Rep (Seems to be only ones who answer) tried to beg and plea for us to stay offering it for 0.99 a month. Are you that desperate for customers? Then when we canceled he told us we owe $8.00. When asked how we owe this money he said "Not all of it went through on previous month" Not all of it? You charge my bank so how could you take a partial. My bank says other wise. Granted not that much money so Im not that bother but just the moral factor alone that you made it up and it makes no sense to charge someone for leaving. This company has had law suit after lawsuit for releasing costumers information as well as fraud. Makes sense now. Avoid them all together.
Sirius is perhaps the most immoral business I have ever dealt with in my 79 years.
For one: they quote you a price and, when you baulk, quote you a lower one, and then an even lower one.
For two (and this is just scandalous): when you wish to cancel, as I have just tried, they require you to speak to one of their agents located in a country where English is a second language and then subject you to a barrage of attempts to convince you to keep their service. My first attempt to cancel was a lengthy affair which ended in my insisting that, my account be cancelled. My request, which the agent apparently granted, was simply ignored. The agent lied. My second attempt was to call and tell them I had sold the vehicle and therefore wished to cancel. After a reasonable exchange with the agent, I was told (and this, I suspect, was another lie) that I was being transferreed to the cancellation department. The line then went dead.
I have read on the Internet about the law suit initiated by the NY Attorney General in response to Sirius' widespread attempts to hold on to customers by whatever means, including outright lying, obfuscation, wheedling coercive persuasion--which in any decent mind is tantamount to criminal activity.
The only way to beat these people is to cancel your credit card and ask for a new one. This is what I did this very morning.
Always charge more than price agreed upon. Always offered me a reduced price to avoid cancellation or new reduced subscription price being offered, but, check my account and always more than was agreed upon. I am done with this company. Can't trust them anymore.
The last few years I have paid for 2 vehicles and have had a good deal. This year they took money off of my card without my permissions When I called he told me the price went and I had to pay the new price. I told him I need a better deal and he told me that there was not any thing but $89. A year so I told hom I wanted my money back and he told me I was only getting back $27. Back out of my $56. Bad business. Bad customer service!
They keep charging my card after I have called to cancel. Every year they keep charging and still claim they have no record of my calling to cancel. I will cancel the credit card before I allow another charge. These people are scammer scum.
Answer: Sirius xm seems to have 2 problems. The 1st, regarding the app is the fact that the songs don't line up witn either the car radio or on the app, the titles of songs. For example, say the channel you are tuning into shows the doors "light my fire". You can go to that channel and find that light my fire played 25 minutes ago and there is a different song playing altogether. For whatever reason, the have a huge problem keeping the title of songs in sync with the one that's playing. They also have an inconsistent replay button. Some times it will work fine, but other times it will just play the final few notes of the last song and wastes the "back" button and go right back to the presrnt song which would have played anyway and not waste the back button.
Sirius XM has a rating of 1.4 stars from 120 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Sirius XM most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Sirius XM ranks 144th among Radio sites.
