There's was a few changes with last.fm. Users always complain about it, but they always move on and use it till the day.
So i guess it's just about some kind of habit or an old friend that you can't just break up with.
I've used last.fm since 2015. This is great when you see the evolution of your music preferences, statistics can say really a lot about you and that's how you remember what has happened in October 2016, for instance, your mood and inner state. Also, recommendations work well and help you to discover new bands that you probably will like. Also, there is a lot of information about the bands.
last.fm helps me find new music and to see what my friends are listening to. I really like seeing how my music tastes have evolved over the years and with the new year in review feature I will see who were my favourites every year with very detailed descriptions.
If you love music- you like last.fm
Here you can find any style of music, bands, or singers, and just any information you need. You can listen to the best songs and view photos, watch videos. So, I think it's a very usefull site.
I used to check Last Fm couple times per hour in the past. But after changes they've made I don't use this website so often. Still the project are awesome!
last.fm has been able to build up a very large database of music profiles and any kind of recommendation system, It is providing good music recommendations and it easily attract listeners. You can watch what thousands of people are playing; they have extremely accurate and up to date music charts and home maker creating. You can have good entertainment. So I am really appreciate.
If I really want to listen to some new music while I'm working and I don't want to pay attention to how I get it (ie, read articles) I use Last.fm. For me, it's better at finding obscure new music than Pandora. Although I find some of the pay upgrade prompts annoying (you have to pay if you want to hear a radio station based only on your favorite songs) and you have to download a client, which often crashes on my Windows Vista. Net net - not bad.
Last.fm is better for finding new music than Pandora - I hate downloading things, but the Last.Fm client is worth it. It keeps track of all the music you listen to on your computer and then plays songs for you based on those preferences. I also like Pandora, but Last.Fm has a larger variety of new music suggestions (indie rock, bluegrass, whatever).
I think I like all the other ones beside this one. Pandora and iheart radio rock! I give them this much credit. I thought it was cool when they first came out. It's not as cool as how it use to be since all these other guys came out with better features and stuff..
Unlike other websites, last.fm provides users with the ability to reach out to new artists while listening to music that suits one's own tastes. I have found many different songs that I enjoy through this website and feel that it has helped me become more informed with the artists that I like to listen to. It's great being able to listen to commercial free music while giving money back to the bands through the advertisements and last.fm does a lot for the music industry for recognition.
Great music site.
Simply type in an artist you want to hear (after making a free account) and you can hear your favorite music and similar music. With FireFox you can install it as an add-on so you can listen to it anytime without having to leave the page you are on.
It also is nice since you can love or hate songs so they will never play again or more often. If you have an Xbox 360 w/ a gold membership you can link you fire.fm account and listen to the music on your 360 with the additional bonus of seeing pictures.
Awesome!

I used to use pandora until they started charging money to use the site and then I heard about last.fm. Not only is it free but it is a better engine as well. Say goodbye to pandora, last.fm I think will win this battle of the music discovery platform
I have been with last.fm for 4 years. I have over 200,000 scrobbles. I love how it has my own hit list. Tells me what bands I listened to the most that week. What song I listened to the most that week. Then there is an overall list of my listens. They have radio that caters to me. My Sprint Hero has an app and I can listen to it when I don't have a radio or my Ipod. This is one of those sites that is just perfect.
I like that you can set up groups and it'll run group lists. I watched this site while American Idol was going on this year and it pretty much helped guess who was going to go home based on how many listens they were getting. Kris and Adam were the top two the entire season.
This is a great site for those that love music.
I have not used the forums. I think that I looked at them one time and I'm not into many forums because they don't look comfortable for reading and posting.
And all in one place. Subscribe to the interesting music creators, find your favorite performers. And take your favorite music with you everywhere you go!
Nice alternative to Pandora. Pandora seems to have access to bigger artists and possibly a much larger music library, but (as others have noted) Pandora also tends to repeat songs more often.
Last.fm is a great place to discover new music, but there are a lot of great artists (famous and not-so-much) whose music is on Pandora but not available on Last.fm.
A truly great source to find new music. I love the scrobble feature that they offer and their recommendations and neighbors are right on the money. The radio station that they offer are brilliant and I could really not ask for anymore. This is a great resource for any music lover!
Preferred over pandora - after finding that pandora really wasn't suggesting any particularly fresh or new bands, i turned to last.fm. Last is user-friendly and chock full of good bands and songs, without being repetitive in its suggestions. You can allow it access to your music folder and play songs straight on last.fm. Each new track shows you a couple of other bands you might like that aren't necessarily in your library yet. I've found a handful of new bands in one sitting, everything from chamber pop to folk to shoegazing to rock and on and on. Each piece of feedback that you provide, whether you love a track or ban it, seems to be taken into consideration.
An ongoing music recommendation database - "Last.fm" (once known as "Audioscrobbler") offers media player plugins to its users. These plugins, which can be installed onto iTunes, Winamp and others, will monitor and record the ID3 data of any MP3 played by that media player. This is uploaded to a large database, which finds other users who have played the same tracks and recommends you new musical artists based on their databases. You can even download the Last.fm Player and listen to sample songs by your recommended bands. I have used this service since September of 2005, and it has never ceased to be a source of new music for me.
Last.fm, you will never get old, at least i hope so, otherwise I would have to find a new way to keep myself busy in the evenings
