http://www.sba.gov/healthcare is the place you need to go to learn more about the Affordable Care Act. I am including the link here because I do not think sitejabber has the ability to review individual links and only entire websites. This is a good starting place to learn about the Affordable Care Act and how it will affect your business. The most important part of the website as it pertains to health care reform is located here along with downloadable pdf files. I would just read all of these to begin understanding the entire process. http://www.sba.gov/content/affordable-care-act-training-materials

A total disaster
April 13, 2022

I reached out to SBA on 11/11/21 and got an answer three and a half months later.
Unfortunately that answer was totally next to the question.
I answered immediately rectifying their wrong assumptions and just received a second email going further on their first response.

A total waste of taxes!

This service is a joke
November 3, 2021

The SBA needs to do more training. You have businesses that suffered badly during covid and have still not managed to get back to where things were. The staff members here are horrible and have horrible customer service. The supervisors never return calls emails which is worse. I looking into who I can speak with about this because how you you have companies waiting over 2 months.

Trying since Nov 12th of 2022, to get assistance. Auto reply every email get back to you in 5 to 7 business. Guess what no calls or email. Actually got a customer service rep after holding for 25 minutes. She could not and can not answer my question, but she did not know how to use the phone to transfer me to some else. Told me to email again. I have emailed every email address connected to sba. No response, no call. I have taken up hours on the phone without a answer and the mystery person that can has to be emailed by the customer representative with details of my call. Ask for their phone or email address...they can not, give that information out. Advised me to keep my phone with me at all times, just in case this person calls! They are good at sending Greetings we may foreclosure, force collects or whatever they need to do. And provide the same number that can't help you. It's March 6th 2023 now.still waiting for a call or email. Won't take any advise on how to operate a business from Small Business. Update if I ever get this resulted.

A bunch of crap!
August 31, 2021

They give loans to either non-citizens or people that don't work hard! They denied me and tried to say that they could not confirm that I lost 30% income because of COVID-19! That is a bold face lie! I made $90,000 in 2019 and years before as a business owner. In 2020 because my income is based on small to medium businesses I made $20,000 in 2020! They still denied me! A bunch of crap and you wonder why the United States is where we are unless you aren't a legal citizen

For the biggest portion of SBA, I know they are very helpful in helping people establish and run different small businesses. They help you with loans and different issues that you might have with your business. My issue today Iwith them, is that the website is not working that you can apply for the application of the covid-19. It
Will not allow you to get past the first page it's it's just locked and that's my only issue with SBA

Better loans available
January 30, 2021

Applied for the SBA loan and was granted. At the time, interest rates were going to be 1% but changed to 3.75% which is not that great, just ok. Which is higher than current mortgage rates. Loan term 30 years. Loan amount 27,300 with a payment of 134.00 a month. Payments for me are not due yet however, as most already know. You can highly reduce the loan term buy starting to make payments now. Even though my payments are not due yet. I sent in one regular payment and one for principal only. Interest is based on principal amount of the loan. Come to find out, this isn't doable. All payments go to interest first. The SBA loan may still be a good option for some that are credit strapped. For me and others in similar situations. It would have been better if I refinanced with a home equity loan at 3.25% same loan duration and and home refinance, one can make payments on principal only as long as payments are current. In my honest opinion, for it to be a Covid 19 disaster relief loan" it should be at least as what is available on the open market, but it's not. Run your numbers before considering this route

I had a wonderful experience. Turnaround time was fast. Input my information allow them to request a transcript from the IRS and then a week later I was approved and then five days later a deposit was made into my account. If you have a legit business and the required documentation you will be fine

Full of $#*!tttt!
June 3, 2021

The purpose of getting a SBA loan is to pay off debt owed during Covid, however they deny you based on a credit score. Being a U. S citizen that pay taxes, it amazes me that they would give it to people who has a fraudulent business and use the monies for inappropriate purchases. I have applied twice and denied, this loan is not for people who have a bad credit score but for people who commit fraud.

Should be out of business
December 30, 2021

I have an SBA loan but let me tell you, if we ran our business in the same fashion as the SBA does, we would be out of business. There is absolutely no efficiency what-so-ever; reaching any one on the telephone is near impossible and getting a statement is equally difficult. Unless you have a LOT of time to waste and infinite patience I would not and will not ever deal with them again.

I was denied a second time for a small business loan because they claimed there was a discrepancy in the info submitted on my application versus what was on my 4506-T form that they submitted on my behalf to the IRS (Back in September 2020 after they ignored me for about 6 months and then finally responded and claimed that because of the difference, they would have to deny my application but couldn't produce proof of the form that had the discrepancy so that i could see the errors they were referring to. If they have my tax form then just plug in the numbers up for review. It's not that difficult. Definitely feels like they were looking for any excuse in the book to deny my application. I am convinced they are definitely not here to help any small business and will look for any reason imaginable to deny you just to say they at least tried to help. Just doing the bare minimum to keep from getting fired i guess. Thanks for nothing SBA. By the grace of GOD i will find a way.

Stuck in time?
August 16, 2022

The SBA website looks ok, until you log in... IF you can log in. They make your account inactive every 90 days if you don't log in, so now I have resorted to putting it in my calendar, just ONE MORE THING i have to remember, for no reason. I have called about 3 times to reactivate our account & this time they couldn't find my name & had to speak to my husband, who then had to ask me all of the answers to their "security questions" since I set us the account!

I can only reason that they don't want you to remember you have a loan to pay on, so they can charge you more interest. Otherwise the way they operate doesn't make any sense AT ALL. They won't send a statement until I'm past due (at least that was what I was told, because of the required payments being paused for covid). I haven't gotten a bill for over a year & a half!

Anyway, back to the website... Once logged in it literally is THE WORST website I have ever tried to use. I could BARELY find the loan info. It is bizarrely placed under "Borrower" then "Borrower search". You can tell from the look & function of it, it has not been updated like the home page.

Just be prepared for this lame-brain excuse for a website. I guess I have to accept what I can't change, but oh my, how it needs updating & the whole SBA deal needs to be much more user friendly.

Horrible Organization
December 29, 2021

My business was approved for targeted and supplemental in August 2021, I had a bank return in September 2021 needless to say I'm still waiting for the funds to be reissued they received all the correct info in September. How is it December 2021 and still not funded and don't have a funding date. This Organization is horrible how or shall I say when will they help small Black Businesses like they say they are here to do? SBA has to do better. Businesses are failing meanwhile csr are saying I don't know that's the only thing that this organization has been consistent with I Don't Know ….

My restaurant (open more than 5 years) was forced to close during the pandemic. I am a 57-year-old single mother, A minority, A US Citizen, A woman, English is my second language. I work very hard, 7 days a week, 14 hours every day, I never owe taxes to the government. Abide by the law. I have good credit. I get a lot of good reviews and I have the ability to give people what they need.
I applied for SBA COVID EIDL LOAN. I emailed all information they requested multiple times. I have had to call the SBA weekly for the past 10 months to make sure they have received all my information. CSRs via phone give different answers to the exact same question as well as wrong advice. The staff members here are horrible and have NO customer service. The supervisors never return calls and emails.
They denied me without any reason.
Beautiful language gives you hope when you open their website, but they make you despair in their own way.
Is SBA really helping those who are eligible and in need of help? The answer is of course NO!

In the middle of a global pandemic, the SBA has denied my company's loan / "grant" - lol due to a low credit score. Congress passed into law that ALL small business would receive a grant of 10,000. The SBA then violated the new law by changing the rules to 1000 per employee. Then after waiting MONTHS for an answer from the SBA, we were issued a denial letter because of a few late credit card payments from over four years ago... Funny how the SBA can defy congress and nothing is said, meanwhile people are going out of business.

The title says it all.
Even for Government Employees this agency stands out, their ineptitude is only exceeded by their sense of ignorance and petty power.

Run away from this agency if you can!

Ghosted By The SBA
December 7, 2020

I have sought advice from our local SBA in Clarion County, Pennsylvania on at least four separate occasions between 2006-2020, and I have yet to make any REAL progress in improving my business skills. The specialty of the SBA is their free, introductory workshop, which I have taken twice. After Christmas of 2019, I was ghosted by my "advisor" and now I am on my own again. The SBA is of no help! Embarrassingly disorganized and inefficient!
