The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

Ring.com promised by email if i sent the product utilizing their USPS pre-paid, i would get my new replacement back within 5 days. This was January 5,2020. As of today (2/13/2020), no product has been delivered or emailed tracking information. However, i have made over 10 calls to complain about by order and, i keep getting promises with different ID numbers stating my product will be sent out in two days. I paid $249. For my alarm and i told ring to produce my product or refund. Ring states, my product was purchased from bestbuy and refunds cant be given eventhough we have your defected product, i wait for the product or you will get nothing. I told Ring that's theft and False and misleading information. I called again tonight, just to get another empty promise on an order.
The Ring doorbell pro looks good and is a great idea but the quality of the product is underwhelming to say the least. With-in a year the plastic doorbell button fails. It cracks due to use and I assume heat from the sun. I live in Northern California and my door faces West. I reached out to the manufacture and the help desk is pleasant but spare parts are not sold. They simply direct me to purchase a new unit. I would hate to have to buy a new unit every 12-15 months. Clearly the Ring team needs to better test the environmental impact on their products and improve the durability. There is ever increasing compaction out there now. I recommend shopping around before buying a Ring.
I purchased this a month ago. Apparently you can only use this for 30 days and then a subscription is required to review activity. It's now useless without monthly payments.
Was working o k till 6 months ago then worse every month and lately their weekly updates aren't fixing problems at least with IOS/Apple And ring Android has that scandal with sharing with police without your knowledge. At Apple App Store go to ring app then find people giving reviews then select" most recent"
You will see the last few months of reviews are terrible
So I got a Ring Doorbell 2 for a Christmas present. Installed it and it worked(off and on) for about a month then it was time to charge the battery. After charging the battery, I had to completely set up the software and had lots of problems doing so. Ring kept telling me my Wi-Fi connection was weak but 6 other devices connected to my router say the signal is strong, Then after reinstalling the software Ring won't download my history, even though supposedly it is stored on the internet account, I pay for. I would not recommend this product to anyone!
Ring has partnered with the police to give them access to video footage, and creates ads from video footage. It is a privacy violation in every way. Also, let's not forget that ring steals data and is bad when it comes to protecting you or your identity. It actually makes you less safe because it exposes you and poses a personal risk.
This company and its equipment are horrible. The ring doorbell camera gets fogged up and cloudy most of the time. I can no longer self monitor as fully described as an option in its detailed options page on the web. This is no longer the case without any notification and that they are attempting to charge me a minimum of $10 a month. I refuse to work with the ethics of companies that have evolved to today's standards. I have turned off my system as it is useless to me at this point because I can't review anything without paying them money. This is not the product and the terms that I purchased under. I will be trashing this company to anybody and everybody that I possibly can. Thank God for Facebook marketplace because I will have this sold and out of my home with In the week.
Ring Door Peephole View Cam
It is a good piece of hardware ONLY if the software works properly!
Here are my observations after having it installed for a month
- The so called "knock sensor" never worked for me, the technical guys could not come up with a solution, I had to disable it. A delivery van almost always used to activate the motion alerts ( when it stayed on)
- The motion zone is not accurate, i. E/ when some one enters the zone, the motion alerts are not activated till the person has passed my drive way and reached the front door then pressing the door bell.
- I am not able to customize the motion zone accurately as I can with my WYZE flood security cam.
- The motion alert has a mind of its own, it keeps disabling itself as soon as I exit the app. (It happens every time I force quit or exit the app; it is the same way on all my iOS devices.) So many people are complaining about exactly the same thing and customer support is doing absolutely nothing about it. Even if everybody gives them a 1 star rating I don't think they'll do anything about it still.
- There is always a delay watching the alert video despite having an excellent broadband, by the time I manage that, the person has disappeared (once someone stole my package from in front of my house and I could not tell who did it because of this stupid delay.)
- Very poor or nonexistent technical help
This issue is driving me crazy. Even if I don't force close the app it still happens on both my iPad and iPhone. This sucks as it renders the peephole camera useless without the proper notifications. I will have no other option but to return all my ring stuff and ask for a full refund since they can never find me a solution but to pay an extra $300 to upgrade it to the elite system. I should actually get compensated for this security breach. I feel that ring doesn't care about their customers or about fixing this issue as long as they make their sales quota.
This is so frustrating. We pay good money for these devices and they don't work. If I don't get a notification this device becomes useless. Does ring read these messages? Or do we have to contact them a different way?
I can go on and on, but time does not permit me to do so.
I wish I could give negative stars instead of one star.
Update: I have tried every trick in the book and Still the same, no fix yet!, I looked at their system status for past incidents and it looks like they logged this as a known issue back on December 16th 2019; but it is also marked as "resolved" now, but based on all our replies on the forums, this certainly is not the case. I think we should all be giving 1 Star ratings to get their attention to fix this security breach and to get them to admit that they have an issue, also we should be contacting support directly (through their chat, calling etc.) and hopefully they will update this glaring defect in the software/app for iOS users.
I had a ring doorbell 2, it stopped working after a year. After a long conversation with Ring they finally agreed to send another one. Well after 1 1/2 hours reinstalling on the phone they couldn't get it working. Terrible product buy at your own peril.
I cannot convey how much I regret buying in to the Ring ecosystem. I have a doorbell and four cameras. They RARELY work correctly. The battery cam is the worst and is basically dead. The doorbell (and really the cameras as well) are only useful for reviewing what they have seen, rather than anything live. Ring ALWAYS blames their customers' connections since they want to hide the fact that their servers can't handle the load. All in all, a waste of money. Don't get sucked in to their BS.
Camera works fine but when the 60 days of keeping your footage runs out then it keeps charging and cancelling you subscription to keep the camera going rendering the camera
Itself useless
I own two Ring security systems. While the hardware works fine so far and their prices are competitive, customers service is shockingly bad.
I've been a ring customer since 2012 When Amazon bought ring in 2018 the customer service has gone downhill. The old customer service used to be top notch and gave excellent service. Since Amazon has taken over its horrible. You can't understand what they're saying they have trouble understand what you're saying it's just an overseas call center. In the beginning when I started with ring they knew their product they knew what they were saying they knew what they were doing. I really hate that Amazon has ruined the customer service of a great product.
Easy to install camera but never works, shaky camera, not smooth video when it even works. Isn't accurate and has to be rebooted daily. Waste of money.
Spent $400 on two camera's, they seem to work ok!, it tells you, you only have a 30 day trail on video recording, was not sure what that meant, well when the time was up, no more video to scroll though so if someone goes on your property when you get the alert you cant go to see what happened if you don't have there plan, cause you can't boot it up fast enough to actually see what happened on your property! SUCKS, SUCKS! Now I have no choice but to buy a plan, or try to take it back. DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESSS YOU ARE READY TO GET A PLAN I hope my mistake(not checking more into this product) will help someone else to avoid the BAIT AND SWITCH!
These cameras a garbage. Wouldn't sync with phone or WiFi even after I bought the ring booster. I mounted the camera outside ten feet from my WiFi wouldn't connect. Then I bought the booster thought that would. That was a big No. What a piece of garbage. Return it all for a full refund. DON'T BUY THE RING ITS GARBAGE!
I wish that I would have found this site and read these reviews, prior to purchasing this piece of junk!
Good Points:
--> Camera resolution enables you to clearly see objects in both the foreground and background (color in daylight; black and white at night)
--> Both hardware and software installation is simple and quick.
--> The life of the lithium ion battery pack lasts a long time; even when your settings are set to levels which are supposed to consume more battery and minimize battery life.
Bad Points:
--> The software application is neither intuitive nor user friendly. You have to select through multiple screens, in order to accomplish simple functions such as checking battery life or reviewing monitored events.
--> Sensors are completely sub-standard and unreliable. They do not accurately detect motion, the vast majority of the time. They also regularly provide false-positive responses (i. E., notify you that there is motion detected when there really isn't any motion).
--> Live streaming of events is impossible. The system constantly locks-up and loses connectivity. By the time that you're able to see an event, the event has already taken place and it is too late to react in real-time or do anything about it (i. E., in the best case, you may receive a historical record of a past event). By the time you receive a notification, someone could have broken into your house, stolen your possessions and already drove away.
--> Ring "Protection" plans are not cost effective. Ring charges you extra to store recorded events on the cloud. The subscription service is not worth it.
--> The lithium ion battery pack takes a very long time to fully charge. If you want to use your peephole cam and doorbell while your primary battery pack is re-charging, you must purchase a secondary battery pack to utilize in the interim and swap battery packs accordingly.
Bottom Line:
This product is not ready for the consumer marketplace. It does not function properly and does not provide a good customer experience. It certainly does not perform as advertised nor lives up to consumer expectations.
You will experience frustration and buyer's remorse. If you purchase one, the only thing that you have to look forward to is your refund once you have returned it.
Hardware has failed 3 times in 5 months
Have had to uninstall and reinstall the app 21 times in 5 months
Customer service is terrible. Poor language skills, poor technical knowledge (first step us always to uninstall and reinstall the pos app) then if it doesnt work, they are lost.
Supervisors do not accept calls or return calls.
DO NOT BUY THIS STSTEM
I am a network engineer and have enterpise-class WiFi. My Ring devices (especially the doorbell) are extremely problematic and unreliable. I have no problems with over 50 other active network devices. Contacting support is useless because all they do is attempt to shift blame to the home network. They should literally go back to the drawing board for these products.
Had a house built over a year ago with 2 exterior Ring cameras / and 3 interior. We had weak WiFi so we recently upgraded it to finally sync the camera/light on the front of the house. Realized it wasn't working properly so Ring had us remove it for exchange only to tell us they won't exchange it. Guess we should have gotten Nest.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
