The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by consistent complaints regarding product reliability and customer service. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the performance of devices, citing issues such as poor video quality and connectivity problems. Additionally, the customer service experience is notably negative, with many reviewers reporting long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and inadequate support for troubleshooting. While some users appreciate the initial functionality of the products, the recurring themes of frustration and disappointment suggest a pressing need for the company to enhance both product quality and customer service responsiveness to improve overall customer satisfaction.

I bought Ring Door Bell Pro in 2017, it worked for less than 2 years but after that, their app started giving problems. I called multiple times to their customer service but could not troubleshoot issue ('System is upgrading and can not help you' excuses). Finally, they claimed that motion detector is broken! (beyond my understanding, how motion detector breaks by just hanging on the wall). Exactly after 2.5 years this device became completely inoperable. I talked to supervisor Brendon and he said that they can stand by product only for a year as their warranty is for only one year. He offered me 35% discount for next ring purchase. I said - you fooled me once, do you think I will be fooled again?
If you like to waste your money, go for it - I don't.
I have 3 ring cameras installed and been on their protection program for over 2 years. Recently I have not been able to access my video recordings. I called and was informed that my recordings are no longer viewable because my card payment on file had updated and now has a new exp. Date(same number, same account) so now I have spent 49 minutes on the phone to remedy. HERE IS THE THE KICK IN THE FACE. All the recordings that were recorded during this little gap(and still show on my event list) will now be deleted (without us being able to see them, those during the gap and all of our prior history) What kind of service is that? I will be moving on from ring. At a minimum they should at least give you an email prior to the current expiration to allow you to double check and confirm your payment data. Kind of makes sense to me. Or maybe they are afraid that if you get the email, you might just say, I am so over this lame product! That's my guess! I have had so many issues over the years that I get a delivery and the notification recording only shows a vehicle pulling away.
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
This product is garbage.
It only works 50% of the time. The battery although fully charged, dies after one or two days. It only picks up activity at your door 50% of the time. It can never be properly angled to obtain a full image.
I am sure the thieves and felons know more about this product than the buyers, and will not be afraid to "visit" you when the Ring Door is not functioning (and that will be half the time).
Do not, repeat, do not waste your money on this. Get a dog.

Don't buy this crap. The only purpose of a security camera is to record video.
Guess what - it doesn't, at least not if you don't pay for their cloud service.
They don't even give an option for local storage to your own personal network.
The APP crashes on some ridiculous login loop and you can't see what monster is banging on your door.
Buy something else and don't waste your time with this POS.
Find another company to get your security devices from. My Ring device works for about 3-6 months then it will not connect to the WiFi. When you finally get someone on the phone in customer service, after 10-20
Minutes, they do not want to help You have to ask for your money back in order to get a replacement. When you ask for a supervisor, they say they cannot give out that information. Horrible company!
I'd suggest avoiding this product. I have 2 and will be replacing very soon with a better option
This door bell records almost every car that drives by my home even though it's set to record only humans and the motion zones are set well back from the road. The worse part is, in the past 2 weeks I've had pizza delivery driver walk up to the doorbell and 2 ups deliveries dropped right in front of the door bell with zero notification. The back door bell is battery operated so I ordered the solar panel which did not work at all
Avoid this product
The video quality is nice but going backward is ridiculous. I used to be able to view my videos on my computer but now they don't go back more than two hours. I tried different browsers and same thing. Called tech support to see if my plan changed and was told I had to view them on my phone. Went to my phone and it took 5 minutes to scroll down a list to try to get to 4/2/20. Found 4/20 and picked one to view. When done viewing that video it kicked me back at the beginning and not on 4/20, What good is a camera if you can't view videos when you need them. Argh.
I purchased the ring with Solar power so I could have consistent power without paying to have it wired. Unfortunately, the battery would drain while I was out of town. The agent stated that if I had it in live view, it would drain even with the solar addition. It was even draining in the winter once I had it installed with my electric source.
Multiple delays when motion is alerted and I cannot talk immediately. Sometimes it does not record movement. It is not as efficient as advertised. I am adding other systems to offset this.
It was great when installed. The video feature was great no matter where you were. After the free trial it became just as door bell. Called customer service and had a girl help me get it to work so it would at least ring when approached, worked for a time then nothing. You have to subscribe to a video contract or its useless. Don't get.
Ring has really bad customer service this it the 2nd time talking to them an the always seem to blame my internet I got my rings worked great for the first two weeks an now it's always on poor signal an this last time I asked the supervisor wat was going to happen an she totally just hung up the chat it's really upsetting to waist your hard earned money to have em blow you off. My internet it downloading at 250 mbps an uploading 17mbps an my RSSI is at 45 Poot signal not on my end.
RING camera tells me that there is a technological issue that they CANT fix, but won't refund money. I have gotten the run around for months-they are still "investigating" what trash, waste of money
I had to get a new doorbell sent to me as the first one stopped working! After about 45 minutes, due to language barrier, and having to check my connections which I had to take a picture and send them. They did send a new one. I did not receive a return label for the old one and called back and again spoke with someone again which was hard to understand and she couldn't understand me. I just realized from another post Amazon purchased Ring, This all makes sense now!
Exactly what you read. They don't do what they are supposed to do. They miss important captures and rarely let me view live. I'll be taking mine back
It seems whenever I don't need the system -- cameras all work, i can download video, no issue. When I really need to see the system or get on to pull video --- error message -- 'No internet connection' What? Why is my browser working? Why is my mail coming in? Then they send me a code because they don't recognize me logging in from the only friggin computer I've ever used for RING. I try to log in, I get the no internet connection error. They I get 'sorry too many incorrect logins, now you have to wait 24hrs to try again'. EFF OFF Ring. Not worth the monthly fee. Or maybe increase it just a tad so you can hire some F*&$*&ng Support.
My ring security camera is recording but every time I click to watch one, the sales subscription crap goes over it and videos do not start. I thought I could watch my ring videos on my phone, even without the subscription. Apparently that is not the case. My overpriced camera is held hostage. Ring is a subscription service like crack.
I had a problem with my stick up cam. Ring staff tried to correct it and could not. They realized the product was defective. They said they would send me a replacement. They never sent it. So after days of waiting I called and they admitted it was 'human error'. They apologized and then finally sent me the cam. Once I got it, it was the wrong one. I called to complain and ask for the correct one to be sent to me. After several calls with a person on the phone that has no clue what they are doing and dont even know what a 'plug -in' camera is I kept on arguing. The problem has stil not ben fixed and I still have the wrong camera and am waiting for the correct one But they still haven't sent it because they have a completely screwed up system of communicating.
Typical business that talks big, but once something goes wrong they throw you under the bus. So they are quick to sell you stuff, but when it comes to servicie they are pathetic. I'm already knee deep and have a separate cam from ring. Next time I will use a different company.
I bought a RING system to provide security at a construction site where I am remodeling a house in a sketchy neighborhood. I have 3 cameras: front, inside and rear, plus a Chime extender. At first, all cameras functioned correctly; i. E., I received the selected alert tones, was able to establish live view, and could also leave my PC connection open and monitor all activity at the construction site.
Several months ago I stopped receiving any alerts and the live view stopped functioning. After many hours with tech support, I still received no alerts and live view no longer functioned. Moreover, RING recently instituted a 2FA (2-factor authorization) arrangement. Now, before I can log in, I must wait to receive an email verification code. My PC application logs out by itself every few minutes, so each time I want to see my construcion site I have to wait for another email. In summary, RING no longer serves the monitoring function for which I purchased it; no longer sends motion alerts, no longer provides live view and no longer permits PC monitoring. A disaster in every respect.
Today 02/27/2020, after another 59 minute phone call, "Neil" from RING Leadership ageed to provide a pre-paid return label and refund my equipment upon receipt.
As a software developer and technical writer for several Fortune 100 companies over a 20 year career, I would suggest that the resources responsible for the recent changes in system architecture and UAT be dismissed or reassigned. In order to address the security issues, which probably affected only a few users, the usefulness (and marketability) of their product was totally destroyed.
I bought my first Ring Doorbell back in 2016 and loved it. It was fast to notify me when someone pushed the button and fast to answered the person at the front door. In January 2018 I bought a second home in the country and installed the Ring Doorbell II and like the first one it was great. Not long after that I noticed it took several minutes to answer a ring due to the video "processing." By the time I could answer it it just showed the person driving away. It is the same for motion, video "processing." What is bad while it is "processing you can't go live view either. I have found it is faster for me when I get a ring notification to just just pull up the security camera and see who is there, because there is no way I can answer the Ring in time. The one house has high speed 600mbps cable internet, the other high speed satellite 30mbps internet. It doesn't seem to make any difference it takes forever making The Ring Doorbell totally worthless.
My ring cameras were good for the past 3yrs could look at them any wher in world now they wont connect i call customer tech and 11 different people answered i couldn't understand none of their broken english i am so frustrated why do people that barley speak english ansqer your phones cameras still wont connect. I am so disappointed Ring customer
Very difficult to have consistent connections. Gets a motion detection but when clicking on live view it just sits and spins then displays error: cannot connect.
Waste of money and time to use. Go to Lorex and get a real security system.
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
