Had to cancel a Rez 40 days in advance and got charged $113. Customer Service no help. Booking and Expedia have a normal policy of a few days in advance of check-in. Why would anyone ever use this scam service? My big mistake misreading who I was using.
You are paying a Service Charge to Reservations.com and Benjamin & Brothers LLC for nothing and once charged it will never be refunded. Wish I could report this scam to all comsumers... true rating is -10.
Reservation near out of town hospital was non refundable. Hospital changed time of admission making it necessary to move same reservation to next night. Refused to accommodate this change regardless of obvious; they were losing nothing.
I always use hotels.com or bookings.com. But recently I failed to notice that I was sent to Reservations.com, a different site. I had entered my credit card number and pushed Send before I saw that the reservation I had just made was nonrefundable. Yikes! Hotels and Bookings make it VERY clear whether a reservation is or is not refundable.
I have been in heart failure for 3 months and would never have made a nonrefundable reservation deliberately. I immediately called Reservations.com and told them about my goof. The customer service person said she'd ask management to review my dilemma and get back to me. The next day I received an email saying that the hotel owner refused to cancel my reservation or to offer me any type of refund for my 3 days. That's just crazy! If I'd checked in off the street and told him I wanted to stay 3 days, then left early, he couldn't have charged me for 3 days. Just now, several days later, I called the hotel to tell the manager that, sure enough, I am having heart issues and was told not to leave town before a four-hour diagnostic test next week. The manager basically said "tough" and hung up on me. So I am paying for 3 nights for a hotel while sitting at home in another state. Never again will I use Reservations.com.
Reservation.com charges a $19.99 service fee. I googled the hotel I wanted and unfortunately this was the first result. I didn't pay close enough attention that it was taking me to Reservation.com site as opposed to the wynham.com site. My bad! However, no where did I see on their site that there was a service fee. The service fee was indicated in the email confirmation I received but was non refundable if I cancelled. This made the somewhat reasonable price for the motel room $20 higher than I had anticipated. I guarantee I will pay closer attention to where google search takes me as the first priority.
We also thought the website was for direct hotel booking...our bad for not reading all the way to the bottom. No problem we thought we will pay the booking fee. When we checked out of the hotel we asked for our bill. Reservations overcharged us $536 for the rooms. When we called to complain they simply said that was "their negotiated rate with the hotel". No refund...sorry your out of luck with this company. Avoid at all cost!
Read carefully on the website to make sure you don't get scammed as we did.
Total rip off! I was charged $200 above what they quoted & charged me to cancel reservation 10 minutes later.
Do not use this site. They are a US company that masks over hotel chains and charges USD funds regardless of where you are booking to and from. The amount on the invoice is not what shown as a charge on your credit card and when asked to explain the difference they blame the rate exchange. I had a booking for about 30 min until I realized all the funds we in USD and when I cancelled they blamed exchange rate service fees for the decencies. They also charged their service fee in USD when my cancellation confirmation made mention of this amount in CAD. This is very disappointing. Not really sure why any one would pay for this service.
Don't use this service, call the Hotel direct. They make it seem like the hotel is almost full so you hurry up and give them your credit card with no refund. In my case the hotel was maybe 1/2 full and i spent about $100.00 to much, so call the hotel direct and check other hotels around because it will seem like the other hotels are full which where not. Lot of these services are out of the US, support our country not there's.
I'm a senior living in Ontario Canada. Brother was gravely I'll in Calgary, AB so rushed to book room at Best Western. Looked it up and this site came up to book reservations. Easy process, got it done-, didn't read all the fine print (my mistake). When email came with confirmation, I sat down to read. First thing I noticed that it was in US funds. 2nd thing is they don't give you time to cancel as they say No refunds at all. Called the hotel direct and this group with the US exchange charged me $200 more than if I had done direct with hotel. Stay away from them! Hard lesson learned :(
1 star is too much. Beware of company. Reservation site is deceiving and makes you think you are on the hotels' reservation system. Customer service is totally unhelpful. Don't ever expect to get your money back if you are unsatisfied.
The reservations.com website lists the non-refundable options first as a trap, it's not entirely clear that it's non-refundable but they will NEVER do anything to help you out if you accidentally book a non-refundable stay. DO NOT use the company, it's predatory in my opinion.
Booked on line and found out they charged $62 on a $120 room. Wouldn't cancel after I received confirmation email with total. Poor customer service. Will never use them again.
I purchased a hotel reservation from Reservations.com in error thinking it was the hotel's website. While I accept my poor judgment in this case, I write this review in hopes others will steer clear of this company. I came upon their site in The website opened when I clicked on what I thought was the hotel's website. Even better (sarcasm here), they also offered a non-refundable reservation. Like a fly on a sticky trap, I was stuck with an exorbitant fee. While the advertised rate was $166.00. After the added taxes and fees, the actual rate was an exorbitant $234.69. Had it not been a long day after which I made this reservation, I hope I would have caught this scam. I write this review in hopes others do not get caught in their trap. Stay clear of Reservations.com! You will pay more than what the hotel was charging!
I'm a consumer attorney. Someone, anyone, needs to bring a lawsuit against these people. I was told I had a 100% refundable set of rooms. Then, the email confirmation came in showing I had two fees which would not be refundable. Just so everyone knows, that's 100% against the law. I needed to cancel and I complained, and they said they would return one fee; I threatened them and they said they would take off both. So frustrating all the same.
Deceived into thinking this was the hotel's front desk. Charged both 40 dollars over hotel cost and a 19.99? For what. Number on credit card *******201was not helpful. Date 04/29/23 Wildwood Lodge Clive Iowa
I erred when making a hotel reservation for a family gathering, not realizing another family member already booked rooms. Tried to cancel within 24 hours, but the website and the customer service line said if travel plans were more than 7 days away, to wait until that time frame to contact them. I understand rules so I put a reminder in my calendar and waited. Currently 5 weeks out, but decided to try to cancel. Was told by the rep that my reservation was nonrefundable. Asked for a supervisor. Same answer, made with a condescending tone. Did I mention we're 5 weeks away from the date? Apparently, that's too close to do anything about the cost I will have to eat. I'm a retiree on a fixed income, and these charges represent 20% of my monthly income - the event is a family wedding, tho, so the original investment seemed worth it. What isn't worth it is not being allowed to change plans over a month away from the date. Agents were difficult to understand at times, but the condescension was loud and clear - "tough beans old lady, we're $500 richer" Horrible experience, horrible service, and if I could give less than 1 star, I would. Shame on you all

They hung up on me as well
Reservations.com is a total scam. I accidently booked 2 rooms for 2 nights, and when I recieved the email confirmation, it was then I saw that the fee was non refundable. I immediately called them to cancel the reservation which was only 5 minutes old, and they refused to issue a refund, but would send my claim to billing. Today I recieved another email that said after review they would not refund the money. I have reported this to the BBB.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
