I made a reservation on what I thought was the hotel site. Their site us built to look like the actual hotel site. When I tried to cancel, I was basically told I wouldn't get my money back. Learn from my mistake, look closely at the url and don't so business with this company.
I made a mistake in rating this company. I should have rate them with a Zero (0).
Be careful:
- they first bill you in US$ without any advise on their site
- second, they collect all the money upfront on reservation of your stay
- third, you cannot be reimbursed upon cancellation of your stay ( in their cancellation policy)
- fourth, you cannot change your date at the hotel reserved ( not shown in their cancellation policy).
Apparently, Expedia is connected to them…. Outch! Not a good point for them
A canadian customer by mistake
Your call rings thru to reservation.com, they quote you a price but before you can give credit card number they disconnect and when you call back they have increased the price.
This company disregards American law. It makes no refunds. They keep a customer's money even if a medical emergency prevents the customer from traveling. Always book reservations directly with a hotel: call the hotel—_don't_ use the internet!
They lied to US at time of booking, mislead and persuade you for the "five stars" hotel/ Rodeway Inn Pigeon forge TN
Fast forward, six month later, after driving almost 9 hours just to find out that " five stars" hotel has been closed back in April 2023 and now we have no hotel … all lodges and resorts in the area have been booked due to 4th of July holiday week
DO NOT TRUST THOSE THIEVES! They are nothing but DISHONESTY AND SCAMMERS
Buyer BEWARE!
Contact hotel direct and save more money
Here are the photos of "Five Stars" hotel
I thought I was booking on the hotel website. When I confirmed my reservation, however, I realized that my credit card was immediately charged (something bona fide hotel sites never do unless you're getting a non-refundable room, which I wasn't). I immediately tried to cancel on the site, but kept getting popups offering discounts if I didn't cancel, and finally a message that they were unable to cancel my booking. I called the customer service number, and the agent did cancel my booking and send a cancellation email, but the agent said the charge won't be reversed for SEVEN TO TEN BUSINESS DAYS! The cancellation email says TEN TO FIFTEEN BUSINESS DAYS. I then saw that what I was being charged for the room was over $100 more than what I was being charged on the hotel website and contains all sorts of non-disclosed "junk" fees. Bottom Line - be careful when making a reservation that you're on the actual hotel website (nameofhotel.com). At worst, use Hotels.com or a reputable site. Reservations.com is a rip-off.
Reserved a room online and it said reservation failed try again. Did it again and then it said I have 2 reservations. Called and they refused to cancel one. I paid $19.99 service fee twice and had 2 rooms for the same day for one person that I had to pay for. I could have gotten the same rate direct with the hotel without the $19.99 added on. Will never use again.
Absolutely horrific. 1st the website fooled me because I actually thought I was on Hiltons website.
I didnt think I had actually made a reservation when I pushed enter to see the totals and was surpised to see a confirmation before getting the final total. I immeadiately called them to correct the mistake was informed THAT IF I HAD CANCELED THE DAY BEFORE I MADE THE RESERVATION THAN IT WAS FULLY REFUNDABLE! Reservation made Feb11th would have to cancel Feb 10the to receive full refund
I explained what had happened, told tough. Asked to speak to supervisor and told the same thing.
They did refund 30% of $900.
A direct reservation with the hotel was $250 cheaper. - cause I made a reservation that same evening with the hotel.
When I checked in the hotel even tho the reservation thru Reservations.com was supposed to be cancelled it had not been.
These people are unscrupulous!
This company is the worst, it say there is only a 37 DOLLAR cancel fee. But when you book it it turns into a non-REFUNDABLE.
THEY TRICK YOU AND TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY
Horrible customer service - enjoy telling customers that reservations are not REFUNDABLE but the hotel policy says otherwise! Horrible people to talk with, zero customer service, too bad so sad attitude! Avoid this site at all cost, save yourself the headache, save your money and the stress of incompetent people.
How are these people still able to operate is beyond me!
We were directed to reservations.com through the hotel website and made a mistaken reservation. We cancelled within 1 hour and the gentleman on the phone confirmed that the reservation had been cancelled, and told us 'not to worry.' One month later...we receive a bill of $400! After contesting the payment with Reservations, they increased the amount to $2000! We never stayed here, we cancelled within one hour, and the company has taken no responsibility.
This is a SCAM. Please see the pattern between this and others' reviews, take them seriously, and DO NOT ever book through reservations.com!
This site makes its money off of unstated or hidden fees and hidden cancellation fees. Also, read the fine print about "free" cancellation. It is free if you cancel 8 or more days prior to the trip; otherwise, you lose a one night's stay - even if you are only staying one night! Also, you cannot cancel online. They make you wait on hold for 30 minutes to talk to someone who can barely speak English.
We booked a hotel room in Utah and they said we booked a room in Yidu Jinling Grand Hotel Yancheng. Hell I don't even where this place is and when I tried to cancel, they argued with me and tried to charge me for the room. DO NOT USE RESERVATIONS.COM they are a complete scam
This is the worse sight to try and book a room through they will literally screw you in every damn way possible...Super Rude and Not Helpful in any way!
Had to cancel a Rez 40 days in advance and got charged $113. Customer Service no help. Booking and Expedia have a normal policy of a few days in advance of check-in. Why would anyone ever use this scam service? My big mistake misreading who I was using.
You are paying a Service Charge to Reservations.com and Benjamin & Brothers LLC for nothing and once charged it will never be refunded. Wish I could report this scam to all comsumers... true rating is -10.
Reservation near out of town hospital was non refundable. Hospital changed time of admission making it necessary to move same reservation to next night. Refused to accommodate this change regardless of obvious; they were losing nothing.
I always use hotels.com or bookings.com. But recently I failed to notice that I was sent to Reservations.com, a different site. I had entered my credit card number and pushed Send before I saw that the reservation I had just made was nonrefundable. Yikes! Hotels and Bookings make it VERY clear whether a reservation is or is not refundable.
I have been in heart failure for 3 months and would never have made a nonrefundable reservation deliberately. I immediately called Reservations.com and told them about my goof. The customer service person said she'd ask management to review my dilemma and get back to me. The next day I received an email saying that the hotel owner refused to cancel my reservation or to offer me any type of refund for my 3 days. That's just crazy! If I'd checked in off the street and told him I wanted to stay 3 days, then left early, he couldn't have charged me for 3 days. Just now, several days later, I called the hotel to tell the manager that, sure enough, I am having heart issues and was told not to leave town before a four-hour diagnostic test next week. The manager basically said "tough" and hung up on me. So I am paying for 3 nights for a hotel while sitting at home in another state. Never again will I use Reservations.com.
Reservation.com charges a $19.99 service fee. I googled the hotel I wanted and unfortunately this was the first result. I didn't pay close enough attention that it was taking me to Reservation.com site as opposed to the wynham.com site. My bad! However, no where did I see on their site that there was a service fee. The service fee was indicated in the email confirmation I received but was non refundable if I cancelled. This made the somewhat reasonable price for the motel room $20 higher than I had anticipated. I guarantee I will pay closer attention to where google search takes me as the first priority.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
