A special getaway reservation through this site, and needed to be managed, and they failed to connect with the hotel for me. I found out the day before when I called the hotel directly and they had no record of my reservatrion. When I called reserations.com to fix it, they were unable, and I spent many long spells on hold on the phone w many calls that were dropped.
The URL read reservations.com/hilton so my sister thought she was at the Hilton site. As I am a Hilton gold member (we were on the phone at the time) I told her to go directly to Hilton.com and that this was a third-party site. She felt comfortable because reservations.com gave her a "cancellation by" date on their site. When she went to cancel, well within the guideline, reservations.com said she needed to deal with the hotel to recoup her $$. Of course, Hilton said they had nothing to do with them. She was out close to $300. Why is this company still allowed to operate?
A few years ago, I had an unfortunate experience with reservations.com. I made a reservation via them (but didn't know it was them) for a small hotel in Idaho. The reservation was very expensive. Later, I found out at the hotel that the rate per night was actually much less. With new management on board, they are making amends. I was absolutely amazed when I received a check the other day for 1/2 of my stay! Thankfully, in going forward, it seems like they are changing their ways and strive to be better.
Phoned to cancel reservation 15 minutes after reservation was made, I phone 3 times, 1st time operator hung up on me, 2nd the line cut off after waiting over 12 minutes, 3rd time same thing, after I told operator that I want to cancel, the line cut off. Also they charge quite a bit in fees, the room was $324.00 after taxes and fees it was $435.00 WOW! Crooks
They must pay big to have their links appear early in keyword searches and make those links appear as if they are (for example), the hotel itself.
You likely will pay more thru them than other legit booking sites (those that only get commission when you complete your reservation).
They have a cancellation fee just for the privilege of having to used them to book a "fully refundable" reservation.
Their customer service call # tree does everything possible to not connect you with an agent, but no matter - they do not price match and they won't consider giving you a true full cancellation refund (they will stick you with their booking fee even if you cancel three minutes after booking)!
Avoid them!
They are the worst. I made a reservation on 12/19/2023 for Valentine's Day to celebrate with my husband and when we came to the hotel where I booked to my surprise it says I don't have reservation with them because reservations.com cancelled it on 12/22/23 without notifying me. And when I called them to speak with the representative, it still says that my reservation is still active. I ended up getting a refund and just had to rebook directly to the hotel. I am so not happy but at least the hotel that we stayed at helped us out and gave us good discount for an upgraded room. But still the stress and inconvenience that it gave me especially I'm pregnant is such a bad experience.
BEWARE! They will charge you USD when booking and expect you to know how to change the currency. Its like 20 pages down and in the greyed out area where you will see the licensing and crap. Then they tell you its on the last page before you check out... ya you have to click a couple things and maximize everything just to see it at the bottom of the page. No one was willing to help and of course everything is non refundable. They are literally crooks and its pathetic how they are still getting away with not putting the currency on any of the prices.
I had an issue with Reservations.com where they booked the wrong hotel, inadvertantly. This was fully resolved and it appears they have a new management team that is working to make things right. Took care of the situation and fully refunded the mistake.
Fine print says there is a $19.99 service fee that is non-refundable. I called Customer service to make sure the cancellation would only cost the $19.99. Customer service stated that the room I happened to select is non refundable for the entire cost of the room plus the $19.99. Lucky me, I just happened to select the only non refundable room.
Keep in mind, I called to cancel less than 5 minutes after making the booking because I realized too late that it wasn't the actual hotel's reservation service I was booking through.
Their fine print also states that I will be charged a service fee for calling customer service.
Do yourself a favour and avoid reservations.com
Trying to cancel a Reservation same day as purchase months from today and reservation.com refused. This is Fraud
Reservation screen "Reservations.com-La Quinta,,,"as noted by multiple reviewers deceptively like official hotel site. Room rate $95. Request usual name address etc. room rate $95. Having done business with reputable companies click payment to find they've added about $50 for tax recovery and total bill is $147 vs $114 for actual rate with taxes through La Quinta. Preliminary credit card at Bank of America was to "Hotelvalue.com" and the cleared charge merchant listed as "Getaroom.com", A shell game con.
They present as the hotel themselves. They are not. I booked a room. Immediately upon booking I realized that they were not the hotel. I then did research and found out what they called a Superior room would either be a double bed or twin. I called and e-mailed. MORE THAN WILLING to PAY MORE to insure I had the room I wanted. They said they could not do it because it was non refundable. I did NOT want a refund. I wanted to upgrade. It became very obvious that the staff had NO power. This is a 100% internet company. They are horrible.
I might as well pile on! Reservations.com should be reported to the BBB. Like many, I went to reserve a room on the hotel's website, in this Holiday Inn. Somehow during the transaction, I was switched over to Reservation.com, a company I never even heard of. So, after checking in to the Holiday Inn, I had to depart a day early; instead of a 2 day stay I would just be there 1 day. I notified the hotel and the were ok with the early, 1 day departure. Long story short I called Reservation.com and they refused to give me a refund. I have to provide them the name of the Holiday Inn employee so they can call and confirm that the hotel ok'd my departure. WTH! This is like having to bring a note to school from my parents, allowing me to leave early. How the heck am I supposed to remember the hotel employee's name? There's a special place in hell for companies like this!
If I could give a ZERO review I would. Never use this despicable service. If you need to book a hotel room DO NOT trust these people. I got scammed by being refused a refund and they cancelled my room. So they take my $400 for 2 nights in American dollars and they cancel my rooms so I am left with no place to stay. They tell me that I told them to cancel the room on a taped phone conversation. I told them to cancel the booking when I get my cancellation refund. Well, after 3 weeks of disputing the refund they decline the refund and tell me that I told them to cancel the room. That is their 'procedure' and I was aware of it. Really, I told them to decline my refund and cancel my room. They have it on a tape conversation they tell me. Who are these people. Does anyone know of an agency that defends the consumer and we can shut these despicable businesses down so that nobody else gets taken like this.
DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH RESERVATION.COM. BE CAREFUL BOOKING ONLINE BECAUSE THEY CLONE HOTEL WEBSITES, AND YOU WILL THINK YOU ARE BOOKING THROUGH THE HOTEL WEBPAGE, BUT IT IS THESE RIPOFFS. I WISH I COULD RATE THEM AT ZERO INSTEAD OF 1.
After posting my review, I was contacted three times by Reservations.com to try to remedy this problem. Ultimately they reduced my reservation to one night, and did refund the charges for the night I wanted to cancel. They did ask that I update my review which I am doing now.
I thought I was dealing with the hotel directly. Additional service fee added that I was not expecting. Then when I needed to reduce 1 night from reservation, discovered that the reservation was non-refundable, with customer service telling me it was the hotel's policy. I then called the hotel, who advised that it was not their policy at all - but that since Reservations.com charged my credit card at booking, I have to work through Reservations.com. When I called back in, the Supervisor suggested I could cancel my reservation and rebook for one night. I asked - so I get a refund by virtue of the cancellation, and then a booking for only one night? No, she was suggesting that I cancel - with them keeping the charges for two nights as non-refundable - and then rebook for one night, at an additional charge for the one night? Would not recommend Reservations.com to my worst enemy!
This company is criminal. I made a $878 dollar mistake, clicked when I shouldn't. I called within minutes of the reservation being made. I wanted to upgrade but, nope pay the full amount. Their cancelation fees are the full amount. My husband let them know we would dispute the charge on my card and fight it out with them. Never would recommend them, and there should be a class action lawsuit against them. They are a predatory company, only in it for the money. They sucks!
Do NOT book with this company. They quote a much lower rate per night, and AFTER you pay, you receive an invoice with taxes and service fees that jack up the rate to almost double. I had to wrestle with the agent in customer service to get a full refund. They use sleazy tactics to get you to book a room and sleazy tactics to keep at least a service fee.
They added in a ton of tax and fees. $297 room ended up being $424. Thought I was on hotel website. Hotel website charged only $353 for $296 room with tax and fees. I tried to cancel & was prepared to pay the $35 processing fee but they said the whole amount was nonrefundable. Do not make your reservations through reservations.con
They neglect to inform you the real rate and currency, plus ridiculous service charges for using the website. Unless you read the small writing on the side of the currency, room rate and service charges. BUYER BEWARE! And then they say can't refund you unless the hotel agrees. So if you want the refund you have to cancel and hope that you get the money back or else you lose your money and the room you paid for. SCAMMERS!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
