Booked a hotel 2 1/2 months in advance through Expedia.
Found out approx. 3 days after booking that the event was taking place in Montreal Quebec not in Kingston Ontario. We cancelled believing that there would be no charge. We would have rebooked at the correct location through Expedia but they returned our original payment less approximately $40.00.
In the future we will book all hotels directly.
I booked my stay at the Monte Carlo Inn in Toronto so that I could attend the wedding of a family member. I went to the Monte Carlo Inn website and saw that the prices were decent. We decided to book the $86 a night rooms which felt like a great deal. When we decided to book the room we were transferred to reservations.com After we confirmed we were charged American dollars, which is ridiculous because the Monte Carlo inn is a Canadian hotel and on their website the price is recorded in America prices which as a Canadian meant that we were paying almost 1 in the third times more for the hotel and the so-called deal we thought we were getting was just another though which is ridiculous because the Monte Carlo in is a Canadian hotel and on their website the price is recorded in American prices which as a Canadian meant that we were paying almost 1 1/3 times more for the hotel and the so-called deal we thought we were getting was just another rip off.
We went back to the reservation page and entire letters at the very bottom it said cthat all prices were in US dollars, which is fine if you're booking a hotel in the states; but we went to a Canadian website and booked a Canadian hotel and were told American pricing and we just feel ripped off. I never want to use reservations.com again.
It took the front desk 20 minutes to find the reservation.
The room was small, with a view of a wall several feet away. The hotel left a bottle of water for consumption and it had an $8.00 price tag on it.
If I were you, I would not book any reservation at that hotel.
At first I was a little afraid to book a room with a third party company. However, I had a great experience with this website not only by paying a low rate when compared to others but was also well served by customer care when I needed.
I landed in Denver and was on the phone for 2 hours while they kept finding me rooms... they kept booking it making me wait 15-20 minutes and then telling me they lost the reservation. Finally they found one and took my credit card information for the sixth time and booked my room. I called for a shuttle and the said there were no rooms... reservations.com had sold me a room that did not exist. Then I spent more time on the phone trying to get my credit card reimbursed. I spent the night on the floor of the airport because after two hours of $#*!ering all the hotel rooms were booked. Terrible company with awful customer service. They hung up 3 times and when I called back we started it all again. I asked to speak to the head person and got the same person twice got disconnected from him the first time and he did not return my call even though they had my number. Run away before using them.
Very helpful and very reliable. Reservations were easily made at great rates. The site is very user-friendly. I would recommend this site to anyone who wants a smooth experience with reservations.
I was having troubles finding an affordable and nice hotel to spend time with my family and I decided to look into this website. I found THE BEST rates online. Also, when I had to make a minor change to my reservation, they were quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend this website to a friend.
I love resarvation.com... they always provide the best rates around and i never had any issues with my resarvations. They are the most reliable reservation website around. When they say guaranteed best rates, they mean it! :)
So I have been waiting over 4 months now for the charges that were not disclosed to me to be returned. The last email said it would be sent in the next 10 days it has been months and nothing worst customer service ever but that's to be expected form a company that continues to rip off customers and commit fraud by withdrawing way more than the agreed amount from your account never ever use them I have also learned they are part of Expedia so I will never use them either
I used Reservation.com for my past family vacation in several hotels and city, as we did a road trip. Online, it was very easy to navigate and they had the best rates from all the 6 different hotels I searched for... when I had to make a change, their customer support was impressive helpful and knowledgeable, and they made sure I was happy with all the changes.
I definitely recommend and looking forward to use them again!
Charges in USD (despite booking from and for a Canadian Hotel) but don't show it until you get a receipt. Also received a fishing scam call shortly after booking from an Expedia affiliate (reservations.com is an affiliate for them) and they had all of my booking information but kept trying to get more information out of me like my full address and credit info.
Called their support about it and the rep kept calling me by a different name and being totally unhelpful, and rude and refusing to look into why my data was shared with a third party or where the security breach occurred. He even told me "We don't contact clients back about this sort of thing".
They did keep offering to cancel my booking which is no help because the bookings are non-refundable.
WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE EVER. NEVER USE reservations.com
** Update**
So right after posting this I was contacted by Jonathan from reservations.com customer support. They offered me a full refund if I would remove my reviews. As my trip was in 2 days I could not get a new hotel room (they were all booked up for the long weekend). I made that issue very clear and Jonathan communicated to me that they would keep the booking and refund the full amount and that they would look into how and why my information was available to third party groups.
I was so very happy to have such quick action and have such a generous offer. I confirmed that the booking was still in place with both the support team and the hotel and went on my trip.
It has been almost a month and no-refund has been issued. Emails to the support team keep getting escalated to no-where and I am sure at this point that the offer of a refund was just another scam in order to get me to remove this review.
The other support managers that promised me a response within 10 business days over my initial concerns with the phishing phone calls have never appeared. These people do not care.
I've booked with this site many times and have never been disappointed. I even had to make a change on a reservation right at the last minute and they accommodated my request immediately. I actually place a high value on the sites reviews of each hotel, for they haven't steered my wrong yet- unlike many other sites that just put 5 stars on every hotel- even if they are poor. I'm not sure what the 1 star rankings are on this site? This is the only online booking engine I use for travel and will continue to use.
This company lies and charges your credit card for unauthorized fees. Do not use this website. It is not trustworthy at all.
I booked a reservation for a hotel in New York and had some changes to be made, I emailed support, with in minutes got response back with resolution of my change request. Very happy with the quick service.
Reservation #*******
When asked if we could get the special rate offered by the hotel, the answer was all of the rooms were sold out. Turns out it was not true. As well not mention made of extra fees. All in all cost us $200 extra for one night stay... do not use this service as there are honest people out there. Tried for 3 days to contact reservations.com literally non-existant (and misnamed) Customer Service. They use a never answer an on hold call strategy once they ascertain the call may be a complaint.
I am pursuing the issue of the tax recovery charges and services fees included on the reservations I made for June 30th, 2016 (Itinerary number: *******) in hopes that we may reach amiable compromise for both sides. My concern is that during my negotiations I was never told of this fee. I was informed that there was to be taxes applied to the final price but never to any other fees that would be added on to the final price of $148.75/night. There was no indication that I would be charged any further fee until the money had already been billed to me.
The taxes one this transaction should have come to about C$66.82 ( In Quebec GST QST is 14.975% of the total selling price C$446.25), however the final charge was C$113.24 meaning there was another C$46 extra fee that I was not made aware of during original negotiations. If this fee was to be included then it should have been made clear from the beginning as it may have affected my decisions.
I just made a nonrefundable reservation, thinking I was making it directly with the hotel. I immediately looked at the email confirmation and found it was $14.99 higher than the charge they had quoted. I then called my credit card company which told me that on my account reservations.com had placed two charges -- one for the price of the hotel listed that I expected, and a second for 14.99. The first was characterized as "hotel", the second simply as "reservations.com". Obviously, I will be careful never to book with this company again, and I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. But I want to warn readers to be extremely careful if booking through this agency --- unless you like to pay undisclosed charges.
I had the same experience... Was not aware that I was booking through third party provider and of addt'l charges until saw on the credit card statement. Started looking into it and found theses posts... Has anyone reported this company to Better Business Bureu?
Like many victims, I typed in Carlton Hotel in Singapore and saw "reservations" and thought it was the hotel reservation website. The whole website looks like the hotel website and gave the impression that I am booking directly from the hotel, which was my intent. Throughout the whole booking process, there wasn't any note or warning that this is from Reservations.com. Until I made my payment and the print out then I realized there was a Reservations.com header. Their rates are more expensive than others and charge a service charge. No refund whatsoever. I know I am not getting my money back and I have learned an expensive lesson. AOVID doing business with Reservations.com!
Did not realized till too late that I had used Reservations.com to book a one night stay in NH. Paid more for the room than I would have directly, AND paid an additional fee that had not been evident to me when I made the reservation. I feel I was misled and ripped off.
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
