DO Not use this site. Guest Reservation site is a scam. Nobody helps. They do not tell you about the 50% tax SCAM. Costumer service is just as bad. Don't fall in the same trap that I did. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. RESPECTABLE HOTELS SHOULD NOT ALLOW THEIR NAMES TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SITE. I WAS SCAMMED. DO NOT LET IT HAPPEN TOYOU.
Be very careful when booking hotels. We thought we were booking directly with hard rock hotel Orlando but turns out it was guestreservations.com which is linked with expedia! Gave us the rate we had seen online and was told there would be tax too which we assumed would be the Florida state 6% + 6% room rate! We rec'd email confirmation 30 secs after hanging up and had been charged $168 (34% tax) immediately called to cancel and was told we would get no refund! After several calls and lots of stress whilst on holiday we were cancelled the payment directly with our credit card company and booked directly through a reputable site. Be very careful when booking as this site has several redirects online!
I fought tooth and nail to get my full refund back. Thank goodness for Paypal(the most awesome company I have ever dealt with). I called and emailed and called and emailed. I am quite relentless when I have been wronged. It took over a month, but it was credited back to my Paypal a couple days ago.
This company was listed on the actual website for the hotel. It was not until the end of the annoying phone call that I figured out that this is a stupid travel agency type "service". They are ver sneaky. They did not give me my full refund. They kept $15. I will not give up. I will get my full refund. It is the principle of the matter more than the $15. When you call to get a refund, they put you on a very static -hard- to -hear line. Don't give up. Call the original number you dialed to get through for your refund. My room should've been $65 but by the time Reservations.com got through with me, they took $95. I got $80 back so far.
Our reservation with a national chain was hijacked and doubled by these pirates. Refunded the room cost when we canceled but not their $15 fee x 2! They are a pop-up that is made to look like the home page but is not. Then you don't know that the reservation is through a third party or that there is an extra "Fee" until you check your card statement and or try to change or cancel the reservation. There should be a negative stars for this one!
I went to the hotel website for the hotel we wanted to stay. I thought I was making reservations through them but somehow made it through Reservations.com. I never received a confirmation email so I called the hotel and found out that the reservations had been made through Reservations.com and that we had 2 rooms reserved (we just need one). The lady at the hotel also told me that this happens a lot. I called Reservations.com to cancel the reservation and they told me that I cant so now we have a room we dont need. Very shady company! I will be making double sure in the future that they haven't back doored their way in.
These people advertise a hotel price they can't deliver, add taxes and fees and a booking charge for ZERO customer service then don't send an email confirmation after charging your credit card. I'm just lucky I took screen shots. Good luck getting through their customer "service" phone menu. It is circular and they apparently can't handle doing anything themselves as they refer you back to the hotel for issues they themselves created.
I wish I would have seen these reviews before I booked. I booked with them- the hotel linked over to them. The price dropped by $150 within 30 minutes of booking. I called to see I could get the price difference and they refused. The customer service person was SO rude and insincere. They don't care about their customers and they don't care about retaining them. Very disappointed. In today's day and age, this type of customer service is unacceptable.
I thought I was calling the hotel that I was trying to book through. Apparently the number led me to someone that hardly spoke English. I booked my reservation and got a confirmation email stating my total. They charged me a $15 service fee! I didn't even know I was going through a 3rd party! And on top of that can't cancel, it's non- refundable! Total bull!
Fees are HUGE! When I cancelled I was informed that they had already charged my credit card IN FULL for the 4 night hotel stay. Then when I cancelled, because it was the day of check in, I was also charged by the hotel for one night's stay plus taxes and fees! AAANNNNDDD they tell me the hold on my account could take 14 to 30 days! DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH THIS COMPANY! I never will again.
I also thought I was booking through the hotel website. The original price of the hotel room looks like a deal but they not only charge you 23% taxes on the room but add another $7.99 booking fee. Normal hotel tax on a room is around 11%. Rude customer service also. I will also contact the BBB about this website.
Thought I was booking directly on hotel website was charged $50 more for using this site. Called the hotel which confirmed this was a scam and was instructed to cancel.
Left on hold for a really long time and was told I would have to pay 50% of room fee if I cancelled reservation. Hotel confirmed this was not true. Huge waste of time and lie after lie total scam. Never ever use this site. BBB will be alerted asap.
Booked one room and they charged me for two. I called to find out to get the other charge off of my account and they had charged me two fees of 14.99 which they said was. No refundable. Needles to say after 9 phone calls oneotel charge was credited back but not the 14.99 fee. After 8 more phone calls and speaking to a supervisor it was finally credited back to my account. TO Save your self a lot of time and headaches, DO NOT USE THIS SITE
Thought I was booking through the hotel. No confirmation received. Realized I had made a mistake on the booking and needed to change. After checking with the hotel, they confirmed a reservation through Expedia, however Expedia did not have the reservation and finally figured out Reservation.com had done the transaction. Worked with their rep to change the reservation but did not receive a confirmation again. At hotel, found that the reservation had not been changed. Next call was to try and sort out. Reservations offered a full refund in US$ but email that followed was for Can$. Next phone call resulted in additional refund to get to US$ and a request to refund the additional service fee that shows up of$15. Final deceit is a refund at an exchange rate of 1.2107 against a charge rate of 1.2884 for a change process that was initiated within 15 minutes of making the payment.
From the deceitful webpage that at first glance appears to be the Hotel website, through the attempts to correct the reservation and finally the cancellation of the reservation and my paying the hotel directly, as their solution to my problem and then the various attempts to short pay on a 'full refund' leave me believing that this is the normal operating style for this company.
I recently booked a hotel room in the U.S. whilst I was in Carlifornia by calling a toll free number which I mistakenly assumed it was the number of the hotel. However it was in fact an on-line hotel reservation site called "reservations.com" (which is a site owned by Expedia, it's known that Expedia owns multiple sites in different brands such as Trivago, hotel.com and so on...). The agent told me the hotel I wanted to book was sold out and lured me by giving misleading/false information of another hotel (I found out after that it was in fact a poorly run motel in a nearby place) believing that it was the same hotel group... So I gave my credit card and CCV code and the transaction went through. In the same call I realised then the hotel the agent suggested me to book was in fact not the same class of hotel and so on, I demanded cancellation. Then I was then transferred to a call center in the Philippines to speak to the customer service for cancellation. At the end the cancellation required one night payment as they claimed the cancellation policy is 72 hours... So I got gipped. Despite various complaint and citing the agent give false and misleading information to lure me into the booking. They pretty much ignored my claim after a few exchange of emails/calls. So the lesson learned is do not trust any sites linked to Expedia. I had same experience before with Expedia and Hotel.com without knowing Expedia controls all these. FYI.
All these reviews site the $15 fee, but they don't realize they got scammed on the tax as well, not to mention hotel price. Hotel tax in Los Angeles is around 14%-15% these people charged 26% for "tax" along with the $15 fee. It also said hotel charges 1 day fee for cancelation, false. Since my elderly mom booked this with the impression she was speaking to the actual hotel, for guests staying near us we walked over there to verify. So far no reservation under our name, in fact the room we booked is not available during those dates and our card had reservations.com and expedia.com charges. I must admit it's a pretty brilliant scam. Charge fee, charge $200 for a $150 room, downgrade the actual room so probably less than $150, double the tax and buy the tickets off Expedia using your card. It's not just a second party, it's a third party buying from a second party that may or may not be honored from the first party. What a fraud!
Totally thought I was booking through the hotel. They don't show you a total until after you book and SURPRISE! An extra $15 NONREFUNDABLE fee was charged with whatever extra stuff. Horrible customer service - they don't care how misleading their site is. Total lack of transparency in pricing and fees. Do NOT book trough this site. Lesson learned: be EXTRA sure you're booking through the actual hotel site, not with these jerks! We will never book through them again - don't cause yourself to go through the crap we just did.
I thought I was booking through the hotel. Everything looked like it was directly through Microtel. And I chose to pay at the hotel but... apparently they "slammed" me like the old long distance phone providers use to do. They had already charged me when I arrived at my hotel and then I discovered a $15 service fee on my credit card, separate from my hotel cost (which also had much higher taxes ect. Than what the hotel charged). My $80 room cost over $110! PLEASE DO NOT USE AND BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL. Best advice... call your chosen hotel directly, on their local number. This one is also associated with Hotels.com. Complete Scam!
I called the hotel to ask questions about booking a reservation and then proceeded to book with what I thought was the hotel. When I receive my confirmation email I realized I was charged a 14.99 service fee. When I called the number on the email I realized I booked with reservations.com. Nowhere on the hotel's website was I told I was working with reservations.com nor when the person answered the phone did they identified themselves as being with reservations.com. I immediately called to cancel my reservation which the service fee is nonrefundable since they provided me with a service. I have emailed back-and-forth and have tried to question the customer service representative's and gotten nowhere, when I have asked to speak to manager they say there's not one available and then hang up on me. Avoid reservations.com at all cost, the service they provide you can do for free anywhere else!
Their website and search results look and feel like the "real" hotel website your trying to book. They take your booking and do 2 things... 1) charge your card for full stay and 2) charge a NON REFUNDABLE $14.99. BUT THEY ARE NOT THE REAL HOTEL.
You figure this out and cancel the reservation as the REAL hotel does not charge your card until you arrive. Takes them 2 weeks to credit your credit card (1 minute to charge but 2 weeks to return?).
Anyway my stupidity cost me $14.99.
They represented themselves as part of the hotel. I mentioned a deal I found online that they said was no longer available. My brother sent me his confirmation that included the deal. They then said there were no charges for parking (in San Francisco?! Since when). This made it look like they were matching deal but had I gone with them the hotel charges $60 for parking like all do! Some even more. I noticed my brothers confirmation explicitly mentioned 50% off parking so I told him to forget it. Then they charged me $15 cancellation fee! I never even got off the initial phone call or authorized the reservation! Cancellation fee for what?!
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!
Answer: Hello, Thank you for question. Please contact us at support@reservations.com so we can better assist you with this matter. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely Reservations.com Support Team
Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
