I booked Feriani (Amsterdam) through booking.com. After contacting the property directly inquiring about the no Pre-payment policy and free cancelation up to a certain date, they replied many times that I will still have to pay wether or not I will cancel before free cancelation date (my credit card was already with them to secure my booking). I have emails to prove their threats. I emailed booking.com and they told me to deal with this property directly. NEVER AGAIN
I'm a front desk agent for Hilton. I just had a guest try to check in, but I couldn't find his reservation anywhere. Come to find out, he booked through reservations.com. There was nothing I could do- he had to call their customer service hotline. He came back to the desk an hour later and said the reason I couldn't find his reservation is because they got his name wrong. Not like a minor spelling error, but like a totally different name. Luckily I was able to find it and get him checked in. That ended well- there have been so many times where 3rd parties from all over the internet have overbooked us. Often times a guest will come in with a confirmation page but we don't have it in our system, and sometimes we can't get them a room because we're sold out. Don't let this happen to you. Call the hotel directly, ask for an in-house reservation or use their OFFICIAL website. Consider signing up for loyalty programs (like Marriott rewards or Hilton HHonors). Even if you are paying a few dollars more (the real hotel rates are not usually drastically different), the peace of mind of knowing you actually have a reservation and that you can make changes to it- is worth it.
I booked a room accidentally using reservations.com, thinking it was the actual hotel website. A 110 a night room costs 146.60 apparently, after taxes and fees, but I did not see that until after I booked. I will avoid reservations.com at all costs and be extra careful next time.
With a plethora of options for hotel discounts, reservations.com should be the last one on your list. $14.95 service fee, extreme lack of flexibility and no desire to aid customers with changes to their travel schedule.
Choose a company without fine print and an exorbitant fee. Avoid reservations.com.
Also accidentally booked through them. They act as if they are the hotel, input your email incorrectly on purpose in order to not send you the disclosed amount, tell you that they booked you for 2 queen beds and when you arrive at the hotel to call and complain they tell you that the booking was for 1 queen. Dishonest company from the phillapenes.
Like others, believed I was on the hotel website reservations. Being a Canadian hotel I thought the price was can$. My card was charged as the USD rate converted to C$ at a 30% exchange rate. When I cancelled immediately I was reimbersed at the actual exchange rate, losing about $20Can. Plus I was stung with the admin fee. This is notwhat the cancellation policy indicates. These guys should be in jail.
DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT book with reservations.com. The trick is, they will steal the logo of the hotel you're trying to book, and you'll THINK you're on the hotel's own site. When you realize your mistake, it's too late -- you've been charged $14.99 for the transaction. I only figured it out when I printed out my reservation and it looked wrong. I got onto the REAL hotel website and found it was much cheaper as well. THEN I realized I had been charged $14.99 by reservations.com. This apparently happened to my husband as well for a business trip. He, too, thought he was on the hotel website, only to discover the logo had been hijacked, and he had been scammed out of $14.99. THIS WEBSITE OUGHT TO BE ILLEGAL AND PROBABLY IS! PLEASE LOOK CAREFULLY AND DON'T BOOK HERE! COMPLAIN TO THE AUTHORITIES!
Total scam, misleading,. I try to book from hotel web site. This site impersonate it like reservation from original hotel site. When I realized, canceled it within 5 mins. But they charged 14.99
I had to cancel my last night's stay (of four nights) which I had reserved through this worthless outfit. First, I had no idea I'd be charged $14.99 charge for using their service until it showed up on my credit card bill. More importantly, the motel advised me that they couldn't give me a refund for my cancellation because I had booked it through reservations.com and gave me a phone number to call. I tried to get through to that number for two days, only to be constantly told they couldn't take my call due to "technical difficulties." Turning to their website, I tried to send them an EMail explaining the situtation, but the message page won't work. I also can't find a working phone number anywhere on that website. Somebody needs to shut these thieves down and put some people in jail.
I initially thought I was booking with their corporate office because reservations.com number pops up before my hotels number. Come to find out that their price is $40 more than the hotels price. Which includes a service fee of $14.99 which is absolutely ridiculous. Seeing as the customer service was a total scam. I was on hold for so long. When you call and "press 3 to cancel" it literally hangs up on you. I ended up canceling with them and then never got a confirmation email. Had to call back and wait on hold forever again. Only to find out my refund was $14.99 shorter than I paid. OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THEY CHARGED MY CARD AS SOON AS I BOOKED. I have never ever heard of this! The man also told me he needed a card number to ONLY reserve the room. LIE. My card was charged. So I will not be receiving the $14.99 as it was a service fee. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!
In July 2017 I booked room in Bermuda through Expedia, or so I thought. I apparently was directed to reservation.com. Looked the same. I did not get a confirmation email and could find no other info so the next day I booked it again. I immediately got a email confirmation. However now I had two exact reservation but did not know it until our credit card bill arrived showing two charges for the same amount. It took several painful phone calls with their staff in the Philippines to obtain one cancelation. (Btw, 10-15 business days for them to process to your bank.) It was finally accomplished. We were left with one reservation for a room in Bermuda. Now, today we received a cancellation notice for the remaining reservation. (Shaking my head in confusion). First call to reservations.com ended in an automated dead end. Called again making a sales selection. Of course got through. They tried to tell me I cancelled the reservation. (Still shaking my head, now in disbelief). In the end, the reservation remains cancelled. We called the hotel directly and booked a new room. This company is at best, unprofessional. They did their best to double charge us and keep an extra $2500. Pay attention to your credit card bills and be careful of the redirect when booking hotels on Expedia or any other travel website.
They quoted me a price, a Canadian booking a Canadian hotel with a Canadian credit card, and Canadian billing address and he runs it through in USD, never once saying the price is in USD. Over 40 mins on the phone to try and get my money back. Do not use.
Buyer Beware! I looked up a particular hotel to get the number to call to make a reservation and a listing popped up that said the hotel name and to call this number for reservations. I called and booked the room and then later was charged a service fee for "their help" in reserving the room. What a joke! Talk about taking advantage of senior citizens! CHECK YOUR LISTING AND MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT SAY RESERVATIONS.COM!
I do not know how this company is able to work with Hotels, they are the absolute worst representation of a company you can ever expect.
We accidental booked with reservations.com last week as their website looked like the hotel website. My bad for not paying more attention to the actual website. We booked the room for one night for $94. My credit card was charged over $130. Looks like I was charged an extra $15 fee that was never documented or discussed through the entire reservation process. When I checked out of the hotel I asked for a receipt and couldn't get one because it was through reservations.com. I called them to get a receipt and they said they would email a detailed receipt showing all charges within 24 hours. 8 days later I still haven't heard from them. Of course, this was a business trip and I need a receipt to claim the expense. Looks like I made a donation!
Do not use these morons to book hotels. There are extra charges that you are unaware of and no customer service later. They are thieves!
Several sites had my room for the same price, but reservations.com added a hidden $14.99 to my bill.
Don't use! Stay with a quality site. We will never use them again... lucky, it is for only one night. Not sure if it will be worth it to them since I will be sharing this with all my friends and family.
I booked a reservation with what I thought was the hotel chain - but turns out it was Reservations.com and this was not disclosed. When the charge was read to me I questioned the taxes because they seemed high. The rep chuckled and said that the taxes and hotel fees are what they are and that I could look at them on my receipt and if I wanted to cancel I could do so at not cost to me. Well that was not true there was a cost - a non refundable 14.99 fee. When I called to cancel the reservation they cancelled the reservation and then told me they could not refund my money to me minus the 14.99 for 10 to 15 business days. I then said well then leave the reservation active since I already paid this inflated price for it. But the rep said sorry he had already cancelled it. When I expressed my frustration with their dishonesty he defaulted to the fact that I should have read the small fine print terms and conditions. Great customer service - so for their desire to essentially steel funds from customers through not disclosing who they are and what there fees are, they claim that is justified through their terms and conditions. Disgusting - a service I will be sure to let everyone I know on social media not to use.
They did not tell me about the $15 service fee and they charged me 24% tax, when the total should have been 13%. So a $109 hotel room cost $150! When I called to cancel, they would not refund the service fee, but after raising a stink they said they'd waive it as a courtesy, IF I kept the reservation. When I told them they are overcharging the tax and I wanted to cancel anyway, they lied to me about what the tax was and then once again couldn't refund the service fee. So far I have not received the cancellation notice they said they sent, so I guess I'm going to have to take it up with my credit card company. Went to hotel chain website and got same room for a total of $111, with the correct tax charged!
This company is a scam. I don't know how these people sleep at night. Lying to people all day on the phone must be exhausting I imagine. Putting people on hold, while they are most likely flossing their teeth or filing their nails, then get back to you after blaring music in your ear for five minutes to tell you that they are going to transfer you and put you on hold again. Too many I'm sorry And I do apologize. I don't think they are sorry at all. Just remember foreign speaking people whose English seems to get worse when they can't defend their so called policies... you reap what you sew...
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
