Do not! Send these people any money. They are dishonest. They are Misleading. I thought. I might have come across a real person on here. She was used as bait. I wouldn't trust any of the good reviews. They are probably made up. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Guys stay away from these scammers. After you purchase their premium pack, they will ban you for no reason a day later. They are scammers and you will never get a response to your inquiries. Most of the profiles are fake
Nukes your messages if you don't send them money. They track and profile you and probably read your private messages as well. Cannot use proxies with this site. People on the site are very new age and ageists. Don't waste your time and personal info with this site as they just want your money and will throttle your account until you cough up the cash.
After 6 days on this site i feel embarrassed for paying them and have my picture up. It's a leftover site with fake accounts and the lowest level of humanity. And google had them rated one of the best sites, Google is giving 5 stars to every company who pays them disgusting. Save your money and do a research before you sing up for any of this sites.
So i used it for some time and texted and liked and swiped but no one literally responded! And ur bio and pics don't really matter... Although i do like the idea of matching but there seems to be a lot of dead profiles and fake peofiles unless u pay u don't get anything out of this or any other app... fortunately i gt out fr free...
Girls, please be aware if you encounter a guy called Julian 30 years old, telephone number *******310 and he claimed he lives in 518 Gregory Ave, Weehawken, NJ please do not respond to his message. He is a catfish, he will make you to drive all the way to his resident and the door man will tell you that he is not living there. As soon as you tell him you are there, he will turn off his phone. Please stay away from him. Thank you for reading.
I was billed 12.88... 3 times when I only subscribed to one month. Even so after being billed for thee month thee times for 41.00 my account still was not activated. They have no customer service number. When try to access your purchases via okcupid app it only supports Google Play Pay even though they accept credit, debit and PayPal. You have to email your issue and are the told they can't reply to every request or complaint. If they feel your issue is of any worth they will reply as soon as they can on a priority basis. WOW!
Okcupid suspended me for no reason. It's a fraud. It takes your money and then terminates you but charges you for a subscription I don't want! They are just trying to charge you on your subscription and then they don't let you cancel your subscription. I had to cancel my credit card to get them to stop charging me! Fake app!
It's a horrible website that will suspend your account if you say the wrong thing. If you give criticism about the women on the website, mind you my opinions were specifically about how I felt that OKCupid caters to Caucasian women on the website, and mind you I'm a Caucasian man, if you say ANYTHING negative or in the ballpark of negative about women in general, especially Caucasian women, they will suspend your account. A friend of mine who used to be on OKCupid warned me to be very very careful about what you say in your profile or else they'll suspend your account, and that's exactly what happened to my account.
So be careful creating a profile, answering all their questions (which takes forever), because if they don't like what you put on your profile they will suspend you without warning. Another friend of mine was communicating with a woman on their site, everything was going great, then all of a sudden his account was suspended and he was like, what the heck? Come to find out they didn't like how something was worded in his profile.
It's a site that caters to Caucasian professional women. You should read what some of these women say in their profiles about men! It's amazing! It's a horrible website. Be careful. The amount of time you invest in their questions and profile, by the time you get comfortable, God forbid you say something which they deem inappropriate, because they'll suspend your account. And, when you email them to ask what's wrong what happened, they'll ignore your email. They're horrible!
I know friends of mine of color that have been on there that have had the same thing happen. I can only imagine one of their delicate Caucasian women probably complaining about the scary African American man and they suspended his account. They are HORRIBLE!
I signed up for this service yesterday even paid to be upgraded so I could possibly contact more members I e-mailed all the women I could on their site I guess an crime for this website haha This is my e-mail that I sent to all the women (Hi there beautiful girl how are you? I seem to have lost my heart somewhere could you possibly help me find it?) I know it's pretty bad right? Haha So today I try to log in and it says my account was suspended! Why? For just trying to contact members? Haha Run far away from this one it's an complete scam!
As i look at all of the people complaining, most of the complaints are 100% wrong. I have been on here 15 years (before it was called OKCupid!)
The thing that really sets them apart from every other site are the MATCHING QUESTIONS. In the beginning they merged with a pretty cool online question/quiz site. This gave them the ability to instantly match people with similar interests using an algorithm. If you answer enough question, it is surprisingly accurate. My two longest relationships were 99% matches.
I have discovered the algorithm starts to become more effective at about 300 questions. That seems like a lot at first, just make it a habit to answer 10 questions every time you log in and only answer questions you care about. Skip questions that aren't important. This makes the match percentage more reliable.
LOL... they should hire me as an online dating coach!
I found that a large percentage of people that hate online dating also hate traditional dating. Few people love it. Online dating is very similar to online job hunting, nobody loves that either. But we have to work, so we accept that it sucks. We also understand the power of the internet to pinpoint exactly what fits you best.
Dating apps are JUST TOOLS. If you pick the wrong tool for the job you cant really blame the tool. If you aren't using the tool correctly you arent going to get the expected results. I wonder if the people giving it 1 star also work for Match.com and POF.com, because the things they complain about are false.
When will Amazon Prime have an app? Select the features you want and they are delivered to you in two days!
Jerk outfit. Setup to steal your money. For free I saw attractive women. Once I paid they disappeared. Cancelled within 24 hours. Contacted my Credit Unions fraud department before the payment went through. I had already sent a message to OKcupid to refund based on their fraudulent claims. Of course, no response? The following day the fraud department called to see if I'd received any response from okc because they had gone ahead and processed my payment. Absolute scam. If you read the reviews on all the dating sites, none are as represented. Easy to steal from folks you don't have to face. Cowards?
I was one of the polite and honest users of this site. To my my mind honesty is in short supply on OkCupid and so I was very upset to have my access to this site blocked for unspecified violation of the conditions.
Never got anything but junk mail clogging up my email so I've switched to PlentyOfFish which has far more users to message and meet up with.
In summary, a very annoying waste of time.
OK Cupid wasted about 100 hours of my time, and cost me over $200, for nothing. I signed up years ago when single and looking for someone special. Their matching system based on questions answered seemed interesting, so I spent countless hours answering a bunch of random questions. Their matching system then showed me how I was a 90% match with some people who didn't seem attractive to me at all, while I was 50% or less with people who looked like a good fit. Just because people think similar thoughts doesn't make them a good match, they should understand that by now.
To make things worse, I pretty much got no responses from the people I swiped and messaged. Because everyone is accessible all the time, there is no incentive to connect.
I signed up for their A-list premium, which made absolutely no difference.
Meanwhile, I went on plenty of successful dates using Coffee Meets Bagel and found my one special person.
I forgot to cancel my A-listing (they didn't send me ANY reminders that I was being billed) and discovered a week ago that they have billed me hundreds of dollars of the years! When I pleaded them to verify that I had not been active on their site for months, they simply stated they can't do refunds. Sorry dude, thanks for the cash.
What a horrible company: wasting people's time and taking their money with greed. There are plenty of evil, greedy companies, but hey, at least at McDonald's I would get diabetes, and well, that's *something*.
We looked at today's most popular dating websites and apps and rated their matching tools, costs, ease of use, messaging, security and other features to find the best dating site of 2019. On top of this, we also spoke to including dating experts and typical users, to get a clear view of the modern dating landscape and the strengths and weaknesses of each site or app.
I wish there were a way to filter those out of my age range from spamming me.
I am 61 male looking for a monogamous relationship yet in the last couple of weeks all the notifications I get of someone "liking" me are young women looking for "hookups" and non-monogamous. My profile states I am looking for a long term relationship. Those not within my age range or meet other criteria should not be allowed to contact or spam me. Then it's difficult to delete them all so I can see just the legit likes. It's to the point I am may opt-out of this site of they cannot do something to filter this. I think prostitution has invaded their site. And then trying to find contact information to receive help is non-existent. If OKcupid were interested in my business they would do something.
Save your money and stay away! This site has become terrible and money grubbing! They will delete your profile after you've payed for a subscription... with no reason why!
Its time a new dating site comes along. One that has absolutely nothing to do with match!
They take your photos and ask all kinds of personal questions just to suspend your account for no reason whatsoever, mysteriously after getting info on you. It leaves you feeling really scammed and violated. And of course this is after they have taken your credit card info. OKCupid is full of old and fake profiles, so if you are a real person you will have no place here other than to have your personal info in jeopardy. This is the worst dating site ever. They even have complaints against them in the BBB, with a grade of F! There is no customer service if you have a problem, and I can see why because there would not be enough customer service reps in the world to deal with this disaster. Don't do it! It's a scam and a rip off.
I am very sad that I have to lower my rating from 5-star to 3-star. Edit: And now to 2 stars. Every change in recent few years made it worse and worse. Also, every change of interface created tons of glitches. First the site stopped showing who visited you. It's o. K, because it made messaging and likes more important. Than they removed the possibility to see when someone was online. So you can be stuck in messaging someone, who wasn't there for years. Then they opted out messaging, unless you match with someone. It would be o. K, if girls were clever enough, to understand the principle of Liking and Matching. 90% of profiles now claim "Message me, I don't see likes". Recently they introduced some form of instant chat client. Which is so buggy, it's awful to use. Especially on mobile version. Speaking of mobile... I never could use mobile app, because it was not available for my region. And later because my device is not compatible. The most recent change is they limited number of Likes per day. It would be o. K, if it also wasn't so glitchy. Twice already my limit time expired, but magically it instantly renewed for another 24h on itself. The latest is that in Browse users you don't see those "who you liked" anymore. Are you people doing it deliberately, to destroy the site?
I must say I was free user all the time. And therefore it is still better than most other sites
I've been using a lot of dating sites, with more or less luck. Every site has it's pro's and con's. But OKCupid seems like a place, that has been so thoroughly developed. Many say it's a CIA project. Well, it's been developed by professionals, that's for sure:)
1. The search option is nice. You can choose between several criteria, even if you are a free user.
2. Messaging system became messy lately, but I got used to it. You need to match with someone in "Double take" game, to send her a message. I don't have a problem with that. It prompted a lot of girls to start playing the game, after all. And yes, it helps chasing away fake users.
3. There is a lot of room to describe yourself, on all aspects of life. I was always putting a lot of effort in that matter. And appreciated users who also do it. You can create more photo albums and put a lot of photos on your profile. You can also connect Instagram profile.
4.It seems to me that it attracts somewhat more intellectual users, which I like. Maybe that is the reason why many reviewers are complaining:)
The downside is there are so many transgenders. But it's not the technical issue, so I can't complain.
What else to say? I've met plenty of people through OKC, from all around the world. My current relationship is conceived on OKC. It is only one of the reasons for a 5 star rating
You ha e to pay to contact anyone.
They allow bots to roam free because they boost the number of "likes" that you can't see unless you pay. Stay away.
Answer: It's good only if you absolutely feel the need to burn your money and time! Seriously speaking, don't repeat my mistake! I had wasted plenty of time and emotions there trying to find a gem among rubbish. Just go to a decent and efficient site with good reputation and you will have plenty of choice there as long as you are a normal and adequate person. I'm using https://j4l.com/402007 And I'm content with it. I found several ladies that I really like, I had meetings with them and now its the time to choose for me!
Answer: OLC is so so... Most of the woman are in dream land and seeking Mr USA. And are not going to meet you in person 95% of the time... You really need to weed out the B. S & players... And that is simple to do... If they can't meet you in person in public with in one week. Drop them... Don't waste your time... Next!
Answer: Terri - this is what I recently sent in about OKC. I will answer your specific questions at the end of this. I have heard many complaints about OKC and scammers. But I AM NOT HAVING ANYWHERE NEAR THE PROBLEMS THAT OTHERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT. I am on several sites, and I experience about the same % of scammers on all. 1) it is so easy to spot a scanner - he wants to use email or text/phone right away. Is this really a problem? I immediately block. 2) if he is in Africa or any other 3rd world nation, I immediately block. I filter my messages so that I do not receive messages from anyone who has answered less than 100 questions or is at least an 85% match. Scammers are so obvious. Also, I note that most scammers claim to be "god-fearing christians," or "looking for an LTR or marriage." I am an atheist and very liberal and state this in my profile and my questions. I know what I am about to say is very offputting, snobbish, elite, etc., but I don't think scammers hit atheist, well-educated, and skeptical people as much as they do others (christians). Sorry, but I did say you wouldn't like that. Scammers are on every site. I have been following the sites and the complaints about scammers. My conclusion, based on my experience, blogs, and LOTS of research, indicate that every site has about the same amount of scammers. Sites that provide almost 0% info on potential matches (Zoosk, POF, tagged, Chemistry, Match, ourtime, etc. - all worthless for matching, IMO) do NOT have fewer scammer than OKC. I am also a moderator on OKC. WORD: Do a GIS on every picture on every profile on every site. It will tell you if the pics were stolen from a commercial source (models, actors, etc.) or not. I have had a ton (sometimes 3/week) of dates from OKC, and I do not believe any of these guys were scammers. Finally, if you know how to spot a scammer, what difference does it make how many there are on any site? I am 59. Yes, I have many very young men contacting me. I just say "You are too young, but thank you for your interest." If they reply, I block. As I stated, I've met tons of great guys (and of course, creeps) and had a lot of dates. I have a lot of correspondence before the date, and make it clear that I am looking for LTR and NOT FWB, NSA (what a load of crap). I have not clicked with anyone yet; but the, I am an atheist, free-thinker, liberal in Texas. Not a lot of guys hit on me (after 18 months on OKC, I only get about 8 guys/week hitting on me. Check my profile: I'm not gorgeous (LIB75002) or email me: joannar75002@gmail.com). I will be happy to help you further, if requested.
Answer: If you use care and caution it's safe. Women are subjected to more weirdos but you can block them. Spammers are going to get through and they will usually ask for your email or phone number. If someone interests you message a lot before you meet and always meet in a public place. If someone insists on more than you're comfortable with move on.
Answer: You have to understand on clear thing: THIS SITE IS A 2 IN 1 DEAL. People are vetted based upon: 1) their overall attractiveness + 2) their ability to PULL IN MORE USERS I have found an UNDERGROUND OKC and have made some friends in that with my last account, but then admin began asking me strange questions about my experiences there that sounded alot less like SITE PATROLLING and a lot more like I WAS FOUND OUT AS A NON INSIDER among that group. I have a running list of accounts that are "sponsored" by the site. I was among the very first to report that okc was OWNED BY MATCH.COM to be used as its social outlet site. HOWEVER AS OF 2 DAYS AGO A MUCH BIGGER ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE: Match.com BOUGHT POF /Plenty of Fish and has bought into /partnered with TINDER. By years end ALSO be on lookout for Ashley Madison to be brought into the fold. WHY ALL THIS: to cut radically the price of the investment & upkeep of all those lab created profiles. BY overlapping data bases and also ADMIN STAFF... The operating costs should have al least a 40% reduction which means 40% more profit. Just so you know Toni, look up Passionate Composer. I will write you back. REAL PEOPLE DO THIS. You may like the profile too. I was among the first to take advantage of the social site move.
Answer: Yes, I have had this happen a lot. People just want your phone number because they don't want to use the site. Then they want to ask questions like where you are from. I guess so they can research you. I am real leery about giving out my email and phone numbers. All kinds of scammers out there.
Answer: Yes, it is completely free... You pay for the more advanced features, but over the last ten years or so, I have met my last 6 lovers through the site ( though oftentimes it turns out that we already knew the same people... The matching algorithms are simply_that_ *good*!) and have never given them a single penny. ( though honestly, I really should, if only out of gratitude!) Give it a try, it really is head and shoulders above the rest of the sites out there...!
Answer: Not really, before Okcupid went full on liberal wasteland they used to release their numbers/stats and it was never bad to begin with. I believe it was like 60/40 depending on how you set up your searches. In my state it was close to 50/50.
