I was a regular NR customer until recently. I ordered a pair of pants, got the email confirmation, etc. Then, not 5 minutes later, I got a notification that my order had been canceled. I went in later that day to see why it was canceled, and I wasn't able to log into my account. At first I assumed it was a website problem, and called CustSrv. She was helpful but said my acct was flagged and locked out, but she didn't know why and gave me the security/fraud dept to contact.
I tried calling but got no answer. Left a voicemail (which 2 weeks later still has not been returned). Also sent an email, which also has not been responded to.
So the next day I get another email saying my order was cancelled because. Wait for it... because I came in over a VPN connection! Seriously, this is their way to try and prevent online fraud. By penalizing a normal customer, simply because they are coming in over an encrypted VPN tunnel. Most ridiculous thing I have ever seen, and particularly from a major online retailer.
Joke of a place. I don't even bother looking at their sites anymore. So disgusted with their fake security.

I purchased myself some boots for Christmas and so that I could wear them for New Year's Eve in Las Vegas. When I received the package I immediately wrapped it without looking in the Box thinking it was the Guess boots I had ordered. When I opened up my Christmas gifts yesterday called the too much surprise were the most horrible disgusting looking boots that I had not ordered. I immediately called Nordstrom customer service and was told not only would they not be able to get my boots to me on time because they don't do expedited shipping, but they also don't compensate the customer for any troubles that they have had because they "don't put money on a customer experience."

Answer: I have bought a fair number of designer handbags and sunglasses from Nordstrom. In all cases (depending on designer) the handbags were marked inside by the designer, where the item was made, usually a serial number and often a certificate of authenticity. This is especially true of the couture items i. E. Prada, Yves St. Laurent, etc. I have never questioned an items authenticity that I purchased from Nordstroms. They are way too big to risk their rep on fakes.
