We had ordered 6 of the Karl Foerster 1 quart jumbo size plants. They were delivered promptly but when I unpackaged them we had 4 good sized cluster of grasses and 2 pots that were extremely sparse with plant seedlings. It looked like one pot had been splt into portions and some of it was then put into two separate pots. It was unimpressive. The items were on sale but it seems we were still over charged for what was delivered.
I inquired about availability of certain plants in preparation for an order. I received no response. Resent the inquiry and have received no reply whatsoever. I have six gardens I'm doing. Went elsewhere. Two stars because they seem to have competitive pricing that would be nice if they were interested in selling something.
The day after I placed my order I set an EMail to Cancel my order and to give me a refund because I had just found out that I had to have surgery because I have cancer, I EMailed Pete 3 times and my sister did too, while I was in the Hospital, there was No reply of any kind from Pete, my sister also left phone messages. Still no reply from them. Then I get an email that my order shipped (my sister checked my emails and told me it shipped) so I decided to keep the plants, they arrived is less than a healthy condition, my sister planted them and did everything she could to keep them alive, but as of 8/18/2020, we had to call it they did not survive. I sent an email to *******@newgardenplants.com today 8/18/2020 to let them know that their plants died and that I would take replacements or a refund, I am waiting 3 days to get an answer to this issue, this review may have a part 2.
I ordered some tall phlox just 3 days ago and they're already here, wrapped great, moist soil of a good amount. Overall, Very Happy Plants!
I ordered nearly $300 of Heucheras. When I received them, they looked like they had been burned and five did not make it at all. It probably was the fault of FedEx but I have written New Garden Plants about three times, and have never received a reply.
Prior to making a purchase, I sent a message asking about the size of the plants. I quickly received a response along with pictures of the plants. I received my order very quickly. The plants were carefully packed for shipping. They looked very healthy upon arrival. I am very pleased.
Read the reviews - seemed to be split 50/50 between a 5 and a 1. Figured worse case I'd reverse the charges on my credit card so I made the plunge. Bought 11 coneflower plants this month. Just arrived today. All tall and green and very professionally wrapped. All 11... perfect. Give this place a chance. If you buy in early spring for such, maybe not the best from reading the reviews. But damn I'm impressed!
Placed order on a tuesday night around 9pm and received my 6 plants two days later, healthy. Will order again
I placed a large order ($162) for plants without checking reviews. My fault. Except for the helebores that were decent, all the plants were extremely small. I received three of one species that were all dead or dying. I notified the company immediately. I planted and cared for the plants but two of the three died. I again notified the company. No reply. I notified them a third time and never heard from them. Their plants were not cheap and the quality was very poor for the prices paid. The plants in the photo were $8.95 each. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!
I purchased 32 plants from New Garden Plants in the amount of 277.00. When I received the plants, many were dead and others were questionable. I emailed Pete immediately and made him aware of what had happened. The following day I sent photographs, a list of plants that did not survive and those that may not be able to be saved. The root system on many had not matured, which makes it almost impossible for plants to come out of shock from being shipped. It has been 3 weeks, 4 emails and no response. Although they clearly state there is 100% guarantee with the proper documentation, your only option is their email address. Not replying is simply a way for New Garden Plants to avoid fulfilling their obligation to the consumer. Nancy M.
"Jumbo" 1 qt hibiscus. Lol! Cuttings in stuck dirt, noted as "dormant". Will not accept my return. You've been warned.
I bought 3 plants <$30.00. I received the plants wilted and planted them right away. They died a couple days later even after following the directions. I emailed "pete" but never received any response after two attempts. I don't even care about a refund at this point because it's such a small value, but it's the principle. A little customer service would be nice. Will not be purchasing any product in the future from this nursery.
I received my $70.00 worth of plants. Nothing like pictured with beautiful blooms. They looked like starter plants some arrived with only 3 leaves. I sent Peter the pictures and told him of my disappointment. He gave me $11. In credit. I'm not sure this a real business. Seems like a backyard Gardner with starter plants. There is no way an owner could look at the photos I sent and not refund more. Needless to say this was my first time shopping here and my last. Don't waste your money here folks.
I ordered over 15 plants at once from this business. They all arrived very healthy and are growing quite vigorously. I am an experienced gardener and was concerned about the size of two of the plants. I emailed Pete and he answered with a suggestion to help them along, and they are doing quite fine now. His prices are great and he has a better selection than any of the four garden centers in my large town. I will order again from New Garden Plants for sure. He has sold out of a lot of the favorites as of April 28th so he must be a well known business. I did not know this but was willing to try him. Very happy with my purchases.
Got a micro plant with 2 leaves on the dirt and 2 ragged leaves attached. Its already died.
After sending 4 emails to business, NO response. Just wanted a replacement.
This place doesnt exist and neither does their guarantee. All fake
Excellent size, healthy and strong. I haven't looked at the root systems yet, but they have to be good given the strength of the plants. I am really happy, and will definitely be a return shopper with New Garden Plants.
I usually only order from Watchdog 30 companies (Dave's Garden). However, my usual go to nurseries ran out of what I desparately wanted. I was a bit wary orderring from New Garden Plants but decided to take a chance on them since others were sold out of what I wanted. I could not have been happier. Everything arrived healthy and beautifully wrapped for secure shipment. The plants were every bit as nice or even nicer than from the other companies and at a lower price. I ordered again this year and was every bit as happy. I think I will look here first for my plant needs in the future!
The size of these plants are terrible. They look like they just popped from a seed a week ago, for $100 I got six plants that wouldn't cover 5 foot of garden bed stay away from this place
I ordered 14 succulents from him early last spring. I live in an apartment and I sent him a list of what I was considering before I ordered and he said they would all be fine indoors. The box was a week or so late and I probably should have asked for it to be delivered later in the spring.
I was expecting all "new" plants, and 3 or 4 were old stems with just a few leaves each. Also, most of the plants were upright, but there wasn't enough room for all of them in the box, so he lay maybe a half-dozen of them on their sides - which created a mess. I almost tossed one planter as it looked like there was nothing in it, but then I found a really tiny plant - an inch at most, buried under dirt.
Also, a lot of the plastic "grower planters" were a narrower diameter than he claimed.
Some of the plants did surprisingly well, but others didn't make it.
I ordered two Crassula Red Pagoda because his photo made it look very colorful and dramatic, but what I got didn't look anything like that.
From now on I'm buying all my succulents in person at Home Depot so I can avoid the bait and switch with mail order - showing you big beautiful plants in photos, but then sending small and not necessarily healthy ones.
Photos are the Crassula Red Pagoda as shown and as delivered.
Answer: In my experience, I have found the plants to be as good, if not better than other nurseries I have ordered from. The pricing was better too. I would look no farther than New Garden Plants.
Answer: I ordered 3 plants, one completely dead upon arrival. No response as well. I guess their "Guarantee" is false advertisement.
Answer: The first time for ordering and problems were very responsive. Following up with order issues... they just ignore you.
