They sent me an email of a $100 charge at 8:05 pm & I called within 1 1/2 hours to cancel & they refused. A total scam job... calling the state's attorney tomorrow.
Billing issues! Billing Issues! Still are billing me after I used a personal credit card for a business account... I havn't worked for the company in 8 months, and they are still billing me even though my card number has changed. They will NOT refund or even prorate the amount of money they have taken from me. The manager says he does not have the authority to authorize refunds of any kind and he does not and will not let me know who his supervisor is so I can further investigate. Hussain was his name. I emailed corporate 3-4 times with an automatic response that says i need to contact customer service. Customer service goes right to Hussain's rain of terror. Shame on myfax.com and their mgmt.
I am constantly fighting to get my login to work & when it does work the faxes fail at least 85% of the time. The site is constantly kicking me out half way through the process as well. I have contacted the company previously and was basically told it wasn't their problem, but rather my browser. I done what they said and it still didn't fix anything. I am currently seeking out other companies to port my number to. The reality is, I'm not fearful to try anyone now because IT CANNOT BE ANY WORSE THAN MYFAX!
I forgot to close my myfax account and called 3 days after the charge was taken, I explained I knew this was my fault and asked if I could cancel and even get a partial refund as I'd just lost my job due to civic-19. The guy I spoke to (John B) rather than say no, said he was sure there could be something done for sure and asked how I was with the crazy times happening right now and we chatted for a bit, after our chat I said the refund was fine and just wanted to close to avoid future charges but John said he understood and would still go ahead with refund given my situation, this I was not expecting (not the refund) but the human kindness and interaction. This has made my day and myfax are so lucky to have John, thank you John!

BEWARE! This is no longer a viable fax company, please update this article to a zero star! I signed up years ago and all was great. This last few months of trying to send faxes for my business was a nightmare. Faxes taking up to an hour to send notification of failure is not acceptable. They have removed the outbox and there is no status provided once you hit send. Each time I've used the service I had to call customer service since nothing worked. I just cancelled last night and the fax that took two hour hours to get a failed transmission message from Myfax was sent with no issues with the new fax company I signed up for! When I called to cancel they told me they do not offer refunds... I only asked for the current month -$10 since I realized this service is not working. She even tried to offer me a free month... of a service that does not work and to sell me additional services after hearing my concerns with the quality of their product! NO! Do not waste your money and time on this service.

This is the worst, there are issues with their service and you get transferred to a Customer Service person in India that hangs up when they do not want to deal with the issue. Terrible.
Do NOT start a free trial with them. There is no option to cancel the free trial on their site which is absurd. Upon emailing them to cancel it they said I needed to call or live chat. I did the live chat and I was 1st in queue for more than 10 minutes. My last option is to call them which I'll do when I have time but I'm sure it will take time as they will try to keep me from cancelling it. THIS COMPANY WILL NOT LAST LONG MANAGEMENT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A PROPER BUSINESS.

This Company charged me $8.00 after I called a few hours after subscribing to complain my faxes were not going through. Response was to give me an additional month instead of trying to figure out what was wrong. RED FLAG WENT UP!
BTW, Steve Adams gives a bogus phone and extension in his response. They are thieves! I will be reporting them to every board I can post to and file to the Better Business Bureau.

Strongly recommend against using this service. I signed up for the FREE TRIAL, yet was still charged $20. They had some ridiculous reason why my faxes - two of them - were the equivalent of 500 pages. Totally unreasonable in my opinion. Then when I tried to cancel online, it said the ability to cancel online wasn't available until my credit card was able to get into their system. Come on! THEY CHARGED ME $20! Clearly it's IN THE SYSTEM! I had to call their customer service number to request my account be cancelled, and got a support person on the line that had the heaviest accent ever. Could barely understand a word she said. STAY AWAY FROM THEM IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME!

I had this service for over 10 years. Now starting in July of this year they increased my rate. Did not notify me, but OK I continue to pay the increase since it was only $2 but then they started charging me $10 every 2-3 times each month in addition to my monthly service fee of $12 saying I went over the allotment of faxed allowed for the account I had. Which I did not. They looked and show I was corrected and gave me a credit. Then the next month same thing happens again. The supervisor sends me a email stating I quote "each page sent or received that takes more than 60 seconds is counted double, (1 page sent in 70 seconds = 2 pages, 1 page sent in 130 seconds = 3 pages...)" Pages I receive are black and white. So I said " you are double and triple charging me for pages I have not received. My plan is 300 pages a month they said I received 600 pages based on the time it took to receive them, and that's there justification for charging me more money. They gave me a credit for my monthly service but then charge me over what I actually receive. For years it was always based on the number of pages received / sent now there trying to say it based on time which we of course can't verify.
Do not use them they are crooked.

MYFAX has never been used for us as immediate request/cancellation was made within one hour of signing up, as we did not need this service. Our login does not work, however they continue to bill as request for cancellation this action has been made since NOV 2013, it is now May 2014.
Final request with demand for proper action has been placed, however the company still refuses.
Next step, CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

I have been a subscriber for YEARS. For the most part the service has worked, however, it's not perfect, and when things don't work right, you can't get any help from MyFax. Today, I tried to fax a 2-page document (pdf) 3 times, and I kept getting the following message: "General System Error".
Tried to get technical support by phone, but never could reach anyone. In fact when you choose the phone option for "Can't send a fax", there is a prolonged period of silence. As far as anyone would know the call went into limbo. However, EVENTUALLY, the call does continue with "Unusually high call volume", and it suggests chatting in for support. I could find no Chat link on any page on their website after I log into my account.
So, I decided to email customer support. Before I started to compose the email, I noticed a confirmation from MyFax that my fax did go through. Weird.
The reviews on this sight are disappointing and not good for MyFax. Evidently the reviews are true, as when one calls MyFax for support, there is actually an option to Cancel Your Account. I'm assuming they are tired of dealing with disgruntled customers.
If I didn't need to fax occasionally in my business, I would not have this service.

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Rip off. I tried their 30 day trial, I had extremely time sensitive documents that needed to be faxed to a government agency. The person that the documents had to be faxed to gave me his dedicated office fax # and I used MyFax to send the documents. After 2 hours the documents still had not been received in his office even though the line was open. I ended up running down the street to a Staples store and had them fax the documents. The documents from Staples were received by the government office immediately - had confirmation from the agent before leaving the Staples store. I then went to the Target store next door and bought an All-in-one printer / copier / fax machine. This was back in May of 2017. Because of how bad MyFax service was, I called and thought I had cancelled my free trial. I didn't notice until August that I was being charged the monthly fee, even though I cancelled. They sent me an invoice via email from their billing department. I replied to the email and told them that I had cancelled and that I wanted a refund for July and August. It is now December 2017 and they are still billing me every month. I am now filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, California Consumer Protection Agency and the California Attorney General's office. Do not get sucked into their scam, once you sign up they will not stop billing you, even after calling them and emailing them. They do not have an online cancellation option.
I cancelled this account in December 2018. They charged me for January. They refunded January and then sent me a bill (which they were going to automatically deduct) for February. I spent over an hour 'chatting' with an overseas idiot and after giving him all the info, said "ignore the bill" THIS IS A BULLSWOOL COMPANY DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO) and you need to put up a minus stars option
1. I subscribed both Myfax and Faxplus to send one important fax and planned to cancel as I rarely need to fax. I forgot to cancel Myfax before the 14 day trial ended, that is my bad, it was worth $12.00 to get this done. Myfax billing section has a "Cancel Subscription" option, which I tried to use, it comes back that my account isn't eligible to be cancelled via login and I need to use "chat". So, I tried the chat option, which after a few questions, finally said: "If your account isn't eligible to be cancelled via your login, then please contact support via (*******373) or chat with a live agent. " If my 15 day account isn't eligible for online cancellation, which accounts are? Why would they even advertise that option. I would not have signed up for Myfax if I had known I could not cancel online, anytime.
2. The fax number MyFax assigned to me belongs to someone else, an accountant. I received someone's private tax filing! I did not give the number to anyone else, but somehow received three faxes from people that I don't know and that were intended for someone else.
3. I had no problems with Faxplus and was able to cancel instantly online.
UPDATE: "Fiona" from Myfax.com responded that the cancel feature did not work because there was a balance on my account. The subscription fee was auto debited from my account on 8/2 and I waited for it to process to attempt to cancel online on 8/4. I added a photo of that transaction.
She chose not to address my other concerns regarding receiving sensitive faxes meant for other people and being given a fax number that belongs to someone else.

Beware of number of pages included! Their idea of pages included is not the same as regular person's idea of how a page is counted!
I was being charged for overage of plan limit. ($10 every day for 4-5 days consecutively). I was really surprised and called them to find out what happened. They said that because the 9 pages of fax that we sent is counted as 80 pages in their system! And of course all my faxes are counted like that! Therefore there's an overage.
Also we port our number over and they never combine the two numbers! This month they started charging us for two accounts! An hour into calling customer support, I didn't get anywhere with the rep. All he could tell me there's are fine prints when I signed up for the service! I don't have the time to spend hours on the phone with time over their problematic billings.
The fax service is just like any other efax. Slower than regular fax but get the fax over to the other end eventually. I really don't see anything special with them that justify the trap in billing.

This is not the impression we wish for your to have. I would like to clarify that as per our customer agreement, one fax page is equal to 60 seconds of duration or whichever is greater. Typically faxes take between 30-60 seconds per page to transmit when scanned in the recommended format of black & white at 200-300 DPI (dots per inch) resolution. We make these recommendations online through various instructional including tips/ tutorials as it is suggested to never scan in color or greyscale as this will increase the file size & duration time required to send the fax, which can adjust both the billing and risk possible line interruption. We would also like to look to see if you had requested to close out the original fax number assigned when your number had been ported into the service or keep both numbers active as we do charge for each number active on the account. Answer: It is a scam service, they will not fix your problem, cancel and call your bank for a charge back. They are offering a service they do not provide.
Answer: Because they can. I am sorry if that sounds flippant, but it is the truth and there is no other logical reason for it. Please note that they don't charge by the page, but rather by the minute and they purposely use a very small bandwidth to send pages.
Answer: If they canceled your account, the login won't work! Mine doesn't work anymore and I know for sure that it's right.
