I cancelled my account on 8/27/24 4:02 PM Central Time. Thankfully I printed off the document showing I cancelled, but this morning, they hit my credit card for yet another year! So dishonest and you can NEVER TALK TO A LIVE PERSON. I have put in with me Credit Card to dispute. If you have cancelled this service. Make SURE you watch your credit card charges.HORRIBLE Dishostest Company.
Won't accept cancellation request. First was supposed to do it via their website which I did and did not receive a confirmation of my request of any kind. Then I was supposed to email them which I did and did not receive any reply or action to my email. Then I was supposed to cancel via their portal again which did not allow me to cancel and asked me to chat with an agent - which didn't work.
Keeps charging my card. Won't respond. Don't have a phone number or a way to talk to someone. This company is committing a modern form of stealing that doesn't seem to get the attention of VISA or the authorities. They should have their VISA and other merchant licenses revoked immediately, be fined, be shut down and criminally charged. The only solution was for me to cancel my credit card after they've stole over $150 of my money which is a huge inconvenience.
If you're like me, you needed a fax number for a specific thing. You got it with metrofax. Now it's impossible to cancel. In the help section it tells you to go click a button elsewhere. Clicking this button tells you that you can't cancel and you have to chat with an agent.
Chatting with an agent is actually chatting with a bot.
Elsewhere it tells you to email *******@metrofax.com - of course, that just bounces back.
You get the idea. Avoid like the plague that it is.
This company is higher priced than most others and has no telephone support. I ran into a problem 24 hours ago and emailed them immediately. I have yet to hear back. I am a psychotherapist and must have a secure fax service that is useable at all times. Metro Fax is not it! Furthermore, they charge a $30 cancellation fee and $40 to prot your existing phone number. I do NOT erecommend this service!
When I signed up, there was phone support. Now everything has to be done online or through their portal. I tried to cancel through email. But they still billed me for the next month. Tried cancelling through their portal, but it's not allowing me to, until I pay for next month. These people do not make it easy to cancel. They only want your money. Another rip-off.
I used this service one time, cancelled it and got a confirmation email.
Then I was hospitalized with COVID.
When I started getting back into my bills, I saw that they are continuing to bill me.
I tried to call, but they have no phone support.

I will have to dispute the charges on my card.
This service doesn't allow for a BAA...and if you attempt to move your number, there are fees that are punitive. There is no reason for a $500 porting fee.
Skip on this one. The service is inconsistent and overpriced, and once you're there, it's impossible to leave.
I had very important papers to fax so decided to use metro fax. After many tries and it would not work, i tried many, many times to call but could not get an answer. I tried to cancel on their web page but it would not work. After persistent calling for 2 months I finally said to the recording I was interested in getting metro fax and someone was on line right away. I finally got it cancelled but they would not refund the 2 charges while I tried to get someone to help me to no avail. It doesn't work and they are crooks. And rude once they found out I wanted to cancel something that never worked and was useless.
Subscriber for 15 years. When I decided to cancel, they refused and charged my Credit Card anyway. I am working on the dispute with the Credit Card merchant now. Their response to the credit card was that the fees are non-refundable.
This service was suppose to be free for the first month. I only sent 1 fax in the first month and I was unable to login afterwards. I received an email to contact customer support however, there is no support person to contact. I tried emailing the support center but the noreply email states I need to login to my account. So, I can't login, I can't email support but they take 2 months service free that I only had one month and it was free for the first month. They know what they are doing especially because they don't have anyway to reach support or billing. This is a terrible service. Scummy and definitely fraudulent! Beware.
These people are ridiculous! Charged me months ago during trial for a fax that didn't go through called them and emailed and their response was it was to a company number was why I was charged. Seriously. Canceled they charged me anyway, tried to cancel wouldn't go through called disputed charged now months later charging again Ordering new card
I signed up for a free trial to test this service for 2 weeks. On day one I made multiple attempts to send a fax which all failed to transmit with unhelpful error messages. I wasted an hour trying unsuccessfully to send a fax and then got a competing service to work in 10 minutes. Then the real fun began, trying to call (all phone numbers have a message saying they don't have live support although it is explicitly advertised on their site) and email to cancel my useless trial before the deadline. I've sent numerous emails, follow up emails, account cancellation confirmation emails with identifying details. Now I'm stuck waiting endlessly to chat online with a representative. I'm starting to think at this point that it would just be easier to cancel my credit card. Stay far away from this digital dumpster fire.
I've been with this company for many years and they have gone down hill. Apparently my card didn't go through one month and then they charged me a $5 late fee which is more than half of what the service cost. Requested a manager call back never received one. Overall not worth the money and the customer service is rude. It's clear they don't appreciate their faithfull business.
I did a free trial and cancelled before it ended. I thought it was over but for the last 4 months thy have been charging my card $9.95 cents. I emailed them they said send us lady four of credit card did that, then they said use there chat online I did that. I sent several emails never got a human response or phone call to resolve. I did chat today I once again asked to cancel my account and refund me. Well of course they won't refund my money so now I will see them in court. It's unfortunate how greedy and unprofessional this experience has been. I even had my bank stop payment but they just debited another $9.95... I will never usr Metrofax EVER... Beware

Since MetroFax was bought, it has been an absolute nightmare. The other day it took sever times logging in to access faxes... once the fax was opened, again it was kick me out stating the session had timed out. Tech support suggested using a different browser. Really? Today was yet another problem... clients faxing are getting errors when faxing. Here we go again... Has ANYONE found a good, reliable e-fax service not owned by the company that bought MetroFax?
Yes, I can confirm what many others have written about MetroFax. Their game is to get your credit card info and use it later to bill you. They have all kinds of excuses for not letting you cancel your "free" 14 day subscription.
Luckily I gave them my prepaid Visa with about a buck left on it. But I feel bad for anyone who gives them their real credit card info, sooner or later you will get a charge on it. The company simply hopes that a few people won't bother to dispute the charge.

Been using this for a few years but support is useless, now that they suspended our account for some strange reason, we can no longer log back in! Goes in a constant loop!
MetroFax lacks even the most simple features one would expect of a fax service. When the recipient fax line is busy there are no redial attempts. Faxes cannot be resent either, meaning one may have to recreate a fax to a busy line several times over before being successful. When sending a fax to an organization that takes their fax line offline at night or on weekends, one cannot schedule a fax either. All of these are some of the simplest capabilities that even old fax machines have. With MetroFax it is back to the stone age. Contacting tech support by phone or chat is useless. They are rude, obnoxious, and very likely don't have an answer that someone cannot figure out themselves. It is better to spend some extra money on a better service.

Our system will make 5 attempts to connect to a line that is ringing busy prior to sending an unsuccessful fax delivery notification to the primary sending email on file. IF a fax has failed for any other reason 3 billable attempts will be made prior to the unsuccessful fax report being sent out. If connection can be made with the receiving fax line and it fails after the 3rd attempt you do have the ability to resent the fax form the website, email and mobile App. It is only if no connection can be made then there is no record to resend the fax. Do not use this service. I have only had problems sending and receiving faxes. So unreliable. Tech blames browser and wants me to use IE when I use Chrome. I was first in line in chat and it took the rep close to ten minutes to check my account after I gave him my info. It also took over 2 hours for a fax to go through.
