The company has garnered a mixed reputation among customers, with some praising the potential for significant savings and a positive experience with customer support. However, a substantial number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding product quality, misleading descriptions, and a lack of transparency about fees. Many customers express frustration over difficulties in obtaining refunds and the perceived gambling nature of the bidding process. Overall, while there are positive experiences, the prevailing sentiment suggests caution, as numerous users report feeling misled and dissatisfied with their purchases.

This site is a joke I put £100 in got 2000 credits bid all of it on one item and didn't get close the only reason I had a go was I read an article by a reporter on msn he said he won first time! Be aware of any stories of winners they don't reflect an accurate account of what your in for if you put money into this site I feel totally stupid that I have gone against my own judgment and thought that something I read on a trusted site (msn) was anything more that Internet advertising lies. I will now read reviews on sites such as this before doing anything like this again
At the end of the day, there is only one winner. And its ( NOT YOU) So if you have money to give away, there are lots of charity's out there that would be glad of it.
The idea that it's easy to pick up an easy bargain on this auction site is a folks errands and this week I was that fool. Significantly too, getting a refund is obfuscated by a round in circles website. To those who've picked up a deal well done, to the rest of us, buyer beware.
It's the worst site in terms of user experience post placing a order.
The order never gets shipped even after paying the full payment.
It has been over a month following them up, but have never recieved any orders till date
They are great! Service responded to my request quickly.
I PURCHASED CREDITS I WON NO AUCTION THEY ARE CONNING PEOPLE INTO THINKING ITS EASY TO WIN ANYTHING AFTER CHECKING MY BANK ACCOUNT MADBID TOOK £175 OUT OF MY ACCOUNT WHEN IT SHOULD OF BEEN £50 MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY ARE WELL AWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS AND HAVE STATED THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN DO NOT USE WWW.MADBID.COM!
Thought I'd spend £50.00 to buy some 'bargains' for my new flat. Never happened, soon lost all the money, not happy. They seem to set traps by placing 'newbie' auctions only. Don't go near them or you'll win that auction, which amounts to a couple of pound. You then don't get any money back as you won an auction. I even stated I didn't want any newbie auctions. Read the fine print! My experience was extremely disappointing and a waste of money, not to mention the hours you have to give to an auction to win it, which I doubt you ever do.
This is a complete con. They can 'aution' things cheaply because of all the money they make from people paying for bids! My brother wanted an iPhone so joined Madbid, he won NOTHING. By the time he gave up, he'd wasted enough money to have bought one! Since my brother's misfortune, I have heard of hundreds of other people who have had the same thing happen to them at Madbid. Keep away from them! Save the money you would waste on bids and buy the item outright!
Don't be sucked into this scam. Not sure how long ago it was that some of these fantastic bargains were to be had according to the adverts but they don't seem to be around now
This has been said before, scam, rubbish, con, fraud and any other word you can think off!
If only I'd read how it really works on the Wikipedia site I would never have signed up and spent my hard earned money on absolutely NOTHING. Paid for 275 credits and they disappeared within 5 Mins, that was on my first bidding session, I got nothing and they refunded my 275 credits which on my next bidding session lasted 1 Minute. Now that's good value, NOT! You have got 2 hopes of winning a bid on this Fraudulent Web Site Bob Hope and NO hope! Steer well clear. How can this be reported? As this site is ripping people off, this totally unfair trading and I only lost 27 quid!:-(:-(
I seen article on sky news app, someone tested madbid out and got an iPhone for £27.00.
They advertise on tv so I thought must be good cos I'm a big eBay user always looking for new gadgets. I purchased 275 credits from madbid costing £27.99 not realising it's nothing like eBay, I auto bidded on a few items and my credits were gone in minutes, so feels like throwing money away, big rip off as far as I'm concerned. Not complained to them cos read similar circumstances, and people have had no results, they should make it very clear you pay for every bid in tv too as well as their website, feel like I've been robbed.
Mr. Gibson Wirral
I got scammed by buying 500 credits for 49.99 Pounds and started clicking on auction to bid. After hardly 10 minutes, received message that I have run out of credit and buy more credit to bid. Lost 49.99. What a fool am I and feel ashamed of myself to come into scammers trap like that and did not win anything in the end.
They pose themselves as a normal bidding site but in fact they not.
I get scammed into buying credit into your account and you start off by bidding on some items.
Mostly all people run out of credit to bid as you pay X bid credits per bid without noticing it.
When you run out of credit you go research why and you find out in their terms and conditions you get buying credit for your used bids. That would be ok if you could buy something at a reasonable price but their items for sale are about 400% more expensive than Ebay. And on ebay you get free delivery but on madbid you still have to pay delivery on top of an item that costs 400% more.
After weeks of chasing refunds via emails have finally got my money back. Had to involve our credit card company team and ask for lost interest. Advice to give is, please do not give them anything you can't afford to lose.
Legalised theft. Be warned, don't go there. The only 5 star ratings are those submitted by madbid.
What an absolute scam MadBid.
Paid £100 for 2500 Credits but now all used up & nothing to show for it and basically I was ripped off.
When I did bid for a decent item I got a server error or network congestion error & suddenly the bid was closed & won by someone else... basically MadBid are running bots and they are a fraudulent gambling company.
MadBid what a crock of $#*!!
This site got some good reviews written all over internet about how to win at mad bid and all, many of the reviews tell you to enable auto bid. That is one sure way to loose all money. There is no guarantee that you win even with auto bid. There are many people constantly bidding. I nearly lost 300$ before I realise I cannot win. Stay away.
Useless site! Everything looks too good to be true. It's almost exceptionally difficult to win a bid on this site. Even if you're going to win a bid, they will not allow it if they don't like the price of the bid. After the last second it would say checking becuase in reality it's waiting for another bid to overbid you. All kinds of dubious things were happening when I was bidding. I had selected the auto-bid option for only one bid. But after sometime when I returned there was a second auto-bid running. It was bidding for me on a product which I didn't even know was in the auction. End result: I lost about 500 credits for no reason. On top of that they don't even reply to your e-mails. The site is riddled with errors! Sometimes these errors can cause a lot of problems for you. Once you buy their credit points your money is trapped becuase you cannot get much from the discounts you earn, they don't have much variety in their stock so you have to select products you probably don't even need.
My suggestion is don't waste your money on this site. You only have a 20 percent chance of winning.Go to bid- ninja and see the figures. Even the top bidders on this site have a win percentage of 20percent. Plus the shipping cost and conversion to dollar increases the cost
IF YOU BUY CREDITS AND DONT USE THEM THEY ARE WIPED OFF. I WAS SAVING MY CREDITS UNTIL I FOUND SOMETHING TO BID ON AND THE CREDOTS WERE STOLEN BECSUSE O DID NOT USE THEM. DO NOT USE THIS SITE.
Answer: Yes, you have to pay first and then wave goodbye to it and to loads of time.
