It's one of those dept stores that is a 'go to' for a vast plethora of items. They sell housewares and fashions and pretty much everything else... they do it well--I've always had a positive experience here. It's a staple of capitalism:-)

I wish I had NEVER signed up for a Macy's Credit Card, so here is my tip if you MUST shop there (for me it is a LAST resort, after trying EVERY other store in town.) When you make a purchase using a Macy's card, IMMEDIATELY use your Debit Card to pay off the purchase. I recently learned this was an option. My bill is often incorrect and when I pay an incorrect balance they sock me with outrageous fees which lower my PERFECT credit score, not to mention dealing with the rude and dismissive telephone representatives - no wonder, they are probably treated as badly (or worse) than the customers. STAY AWAY!
Most pathetic service. They don't pick calls, have transactions about which no one can provide details And they would keep adding interest and finally will give to third party to collect with no way of right to Information. I would never be their loyal customer again!
I am taking my boyfriend to the military ball this fall, and so he decided to purchase a suit from our local Macy's.
The man in the men's department was rather helpful - until it came time to ring us up. He first ran the card without the sale (which took off 40 dollars) so he canceled the transaction and then went to run the card again which was then suddenly declined because the money that he had moved to that account had already been removed by Macy's. So after the man had originally said that we couldn't pay in cash, he decided it was alright to place the order with a cash payment. We had him politely call over his manager where we had the three receipts printed and brought it to her attention that the first card transaction yes said it was canceled but that the money was already gone from his account and that we would, as originally stated, like to pay in cash. The manager wasn't very helpful because all she said was "Well, this is what the computer says." Now its a week later, and the money has still not been returned to my boyfriends bank account and Macy's has officially double charged him for a three piece suit that should only have cost him $260 but now effectively cost him $560. My advice? Don't go to Macy's. Go somewhere local that won't tell you what the computer says and actually help you. We are going back today to dispute the charge to his card.
I love Macys especially the Macys at Bay Plaza in the Bronx. The store is always clean and smells good. The customer service is exceptional and lets face it, Macys sells quality and beautiful things unlike other stores.

$500 for some sunglasses?! $200 for cologne I can find elsewhere at half the price. Well I guess this is a convenient store for people in the hood with high incomes.
I just love shopping in their store as you can find the good stuff such as good china like Portmeirion, or Mikasa, Lenox, or Villeroy and Bosch, or Royal Albert! They have Correle and other kinds too if you want every day stuff. They have all the different kinfs of cookware you can imagine too. Clothing is no problem as they have a large selection of the most up to date things so you can buy in style! Babies to senior citizens csn find selections in abundance! Try their shop! Either go online or go see their store! You eill be glad you did! I was! Especially their china dinnerware line!

All my experiences with the sales staff were poor. Treated as tho they were putting something over on me to purchase a more expensive product than I wanted.
Have ordered items for my bed and bath and beauty items. Love the quick response and delivery time. Ease of returning to my local store if not satisfied with product is a plus. All items ordered have been of good or exceptional quality. Have only returned one item and that is only because I did not care for the pattern of the bedspread once received. Would recommend Macy's to all.
Sorry to hear that so many people have had bad experiences with this company. I never thought to read the reviews before ordering from them. I got my items pretty fast in the mail. I only have a question for this company about the 2 items I ordered but I can't find their phone number. Other wise my experience with them is ok.
Never had an issue with macys.com or in store. In many years of shopping with them I have never had any problem. The best sales price ever... Great selection of items and very well trained customer service. Fast shipping, but I will say their website sometimes too slow
Finding what I want in clothing there is often chaotic, especially during sales. They never seem to have enough staff & the racks are a mess.
Denver... was at a well known area. It is very busy area so you don't want to carry a purse. All day I used only my card with PIN. Went to Macy's to buy a $30 shirt. Big hassle, because no pic ID on me. If it was more than a $30 t-shirt, I could understand. Haven't been back.
