Should be illegal

I ordered ink for my printer and the type shown that I was buying looked like the recommended manufacturer type. What I got was a leaky cartridge that was a knock off type, unsealed and pouring out toner that stained my hands and clothes and ruined my carpet!

What happened?
February 1, 2022

For several years, LD products was my go-to source for printer ink. I live in Central California, and if I ordered early in the day, I got my products delivered the next day.

This time, no such luck. I ordered twice and both times, the order was not completed because of some issue with payment processing. I only figured this out after several days. No, I wasn't charged multiple times but I also did not have a complete order.

I finally got an order through. I expected my ink the next day as usual. I got a tracking number but after several days, no tracking information yet, just a delivery date which seems to keep on receding into the future.

What has happened here? Has the company been sold? Is there a supply chain problem? I'm going to look for another source in the future.

I placed an order 6 days ago, and was told two days ago that shipment was delayed because an item was on back-order, but that my order would be shipped no later than the following day. Not only did they fail to ship the order the following day, I was told today that the order still had not shipped. I asked to cancel the order, and then they told me that it may have shipped from the warehouse, but they could not be sure, and all that they could do was put in a "request to cancel." I asked how long it would take for them to obtain a response to their cancellation request, and they said 1 to 3 business days. Ridiculous!

I purchased 2 inkjet cartridges on June 1st and paid for 2 day shipping. I received a fed ex ENVELOPE with only a packing list inside and NO INKJET CARTRIDGES. Called them and they said that when I ordered it was pass the cut-off time for the 2 day shipping. They refused to refund my money. I have put in a claim with PayPal.

Worst product I have every purchased. Half of the cartridges worked after a great deal of fiddling with them. It took 3, 4, 5, 6 tries. The other half NEVER worked. I have better things to do with my time.

They suggest not updating your printer if you want to use their product. STAY AWAY.

Received 4 cartridges for my HP printer and they worked the first time I installed them. This is the second time I have bought from them and am very satisfied. Tried others recently and had to return the cartridges as they would not install. I recommend this company and their products

Horrible experience.

I replaced my HP Officejet 5222 OEM cartridges with LDProducts cartridges. My printer ran really slowly. Took forever to get a page printed. And the printing was not good. Every 4th line was crazy. They would duplicate a letter or two and run down into the next line at the beginning or end of a line. I called customer service and was put on hold several times. I got no satisfaction and was told I had to mail their defective cartridges back before I would get a refund. It cost over $12 dollars to do that. I'll never buy from this company again and will tell all my friends of my experience. If I could give less than 1 star I would do that.

I will not by any of their products again from anyone. Their toner cartridge prints, but it makes my printer go click-click-click, indicating a potential spooling gear issue. LDProducts would not issue me a refund without a receipt (I bought it from an online vendor but can't find the receipt). I'm using only Brother products for my Brother printer from now on: I might pay more, but at least they work. (By the way, my printer is not defective - I just installed a Brother toner and everything works fine - no clicking - just printing.)

Great customer service

I got toner that wasn't working. I used the chat to contact customer service, and they guided me on some troubleshooting steps, but when that didn't work, they sent me a replacement cartridge for free without worrying about returning the old one.

False Information

I ordered a product online from LD products. Advertising indicated that if orders were made by 4 PM PST they would be shipped the same day. Since the item had been out of stock many places I followed the online order with a phone call. I was reassured that the item was in stock. Since 3 days later the order was showing pending online, I called again. I was informed that the item was out of stock and unknown when it would be back in stock. I believe this was false advertising and very poor service as I was never notified of the out of stock status.

I was referred to LD Products several years ago - maybe 4+ years ago and we have a stack of their SUPER LONG-LASTING XL cartridges. Our first purchase was just for one-each black and color 60XLs and they lasted and lasted even though we were printing our Christmas letters and then an adoption announcement. We were sooooo happy that we ordered a group buy = 3 black and 2 color cartridges to save money and probably never have to buy again. Both the black and color cartridges that were installed in late 2019 were still printing perfectly until a few days ago when the color gave out. We broke open one of the color cartridges we purchased back in 2018 and got an error message. I called the company and got "Frank" who very politely and professionally ran me through a series of fixes with our HP 4280 and nothing fixed the issue. I figured that because we bought the cartridges so long ago I was "SOL" but Frank verified our order and some other info and two - not one - TWO replacement cartridges are on their way! WHAT AN AWESOME COMPANY!

Garbage Products

When you experience garbage products or services you dont have to write much. I feel their products are trash and the service is equally lousy. Expect cut rate merchandise and services, took over a week to get my order and it wasnt event properly packaged. I am expecting this to be a waste o my money and time so pay a bit more and get better products and service. LD sucks.

Easy Issue Resolution

I purchased some HP ink cartridges two years ago. I recently installed the last two and found that they didn't work due to a firmware update from HP. I called LPD, and they replaced them at no charge despite the age of the order. Everything was incredibly easy and the representative was very helpful.

Ordered a set of cartridges for my Brother HL-3180CDW printer. They were shipped fast, and work great.

One thing I had to do, but this is a Brother "feature" is to reset the page counter for the toner. Otherwise, the printer will prematurely start warning you the cartridge is almost empty, when it's not.

Shady and Deceptive
August 12, 2020

I ordered a set of ink tanks (12) for my printer. 2 days later they sent an email saying they were out of stock so my order would be cancelled. Any OTHER ITEMS on my order would still be shipped. I only ordered 1 item - a SET of ink tanks.

So I ordered a set from another company and didn't think anymore about it. Then about a week later a box was dropped on my porch with 10 of the 12 ink tanks. Shortly AFTER the delivery I got an email saying my order had been shipped and was on the way. This is the most disturbing part - who sends the shipping information with tracking AFTER delivery?

I called them the next day to find out how to return them. They said they would have to look into it and get back to me. 1 week later after numerous calls they said I could return them at MY EXPENSE ($70).

If you buy a set of anything from someone and they don't have some parts of the set, do you expect them to send the parts they do have and leave you to figure out how to fill out the set (dishes, a suit, paint set, etc...)?

I am not sure what is going on with this company, but it does not appear to be completely above board.

UPDATE 8/31/2020: As Patrick from LD Products said in his response, the company did indeed refund my shipping cost after I filed a complaint with the BBB and California Attorney General. So I am changing from 1 star to 2 stars. I don't understand why they could not do the right thing at the start, but ultimately I am back where I started. Except for a few more grey hairs.

TERRIBLE PRODUCTS

I have at least 6 cartridges my printer won't except. There products were good at one time but now they sell $#*!!
I've emailed customer service and told them their cartridges don't work and I want replacements, they never respond. If you have money to throw away buy this $#*! from LD Products.

Is it a good deal if you never receive the product ordered, and then don't get a refund? Calls to "customer service" get you to pleasant people who are unable to get you satisfaction, emails to the same people are ignored. Instead of throwing your money away ordering here, please consider making a donation to a good cause. You'll feel better at the end of the day, even if your printer still needs toner.

Ordered a 4-pack of high quality ink for my husband's office printer. So far, so good. We paid $70 for a 4 pack, with HP we usually pay around $400, what a savings! If they last, will be a repeat customer and will also let business associates know as well.

Never Again

L. D. P. Sent me one come-on after another so I finally ordered a "discounted" printer cartridge on April 19,2020, which I didn't need until yesterday, June 7th, when I needed it urgently. It was a complete dud! The copies are barely legible. When I called to request a refund or replacement I was told they would not honor my purchase because it was made in April. So, $95 down the drain. When the representative who returned my call asked if I wanted to place a new order I said I would not be ordering from L. D. P. Again, ever. -David Kozinski, Wilmington, DE
