I went on Lancaster puppy after reading that they make sure the pups are healthy and happy only to encounter a puppy mill that had nearly 200 dogs. The dogs live in kennels with constant noise, they have minimum human contact and many are stir crazy for to not getting out of the kennels to the pound they look like they may injure themselves. I reported this breeder to Lancaster puppies and they said they saw no red flags even though I gave proof of the number of dogs. The care standards through USDA are minimal and according to Lancaster puppies that is good enough, but these most definitely were not happy and healthy dogs!
I was EXTREMELY skeptical of Lancaster puppies website. I am from the area so I know about the puppy mill problem in Lancaster. I HEAVILY researched the people who were selling my pup. Our experience honestly blew my mind. Mom and dad were in perfect condition and so so sweet and social (puppy mill dogs will not be this way). We stayed for over 20 minutes just talking with Rachel Kauffman, the owner of the pups. We've only had ours for 3 weeks, so I can't say that things will be 100% in the future, but so far so good. If you are buying from this site research the seller, ask tons of questions. Health records, vet records, who is the vet, can you meet mom and dad, can you see where the pups are kept etc etc.
Thank you, Jess, for your review. We're happy you had a great time purchasing a puppy through one of the sellers on our website. Enjoy your new puppy!
I just had to have my 11 month old puppy have hip surgery and get fixed. The dna showed he was over breed. He also has hip dysplasia. Junior Yoder did not disclose this hereditary condition. Though I did not speak to him I spoke to a family member who didn't care abt this I would never buy a pup from him or his family.

I have tried several times to buy from Lancaster but the phone #s for sellers are always bad or go to a voicemail with a different name than the lister seller. They have a contact form but then ask me to provide the sellers email ( which is not listed). The actual # to Lancaster Puppies goes to "a voicemail that has not been set up" it just makes me wonder if this place is legit when I can never seem to get a person? How does one go about purchasing from them?
My wife & I got a 11 week Husky Pup from Ruth in Ohio, and he was delivered to us 5 days ago. However, we've found some temperamental issues with him, he isn't fully vaccinated like she said he would be and not even microchipped. We would like to return him and even agreed for a no-refund because we want him to go to his original home/environment, but the breeder isn't responding to our calls.
Most of these breeders are Amish and Menonite puppy mills. I actually bought a puppy for half of the original listing price, because I thought no one else would. Puppy was covered in flea / mite scabs. Was bald in several spots from excessive itching. Also, the puppy at 3 months was on adult dog food instead of being weaned to a puppy chow.

I have encountered many "sellers" that go by fake names and locations. They post fake puppy pictures and videos. DO NOT send anybody deposit money or a full payment for a puppy until you've actually met the puppy or FaceTimed. $1,500 was stolen from me by a very clever scammer. Please see the images below and steer clear of fake sellers like this. Lancaster puppies is like Craigslist they protect and harbor scammers. They have refused to take action on any of these ads and there have been over 100 people scammed out of money. Typically we've seen them with Yorkshire terriers because they are pricey. I would avoid this website at all cost.
Tips:
-Never spend money without seeing the dog in person or on facetime
-Beware of anyone who only wants to converse over text
-Beware of sellers wanting you to send money to "deliver" the pup. It's a scam
-Ask for references
-Use breeders through a trusted source (friends, Facebook, etc

The puppy advertised in the picture is not the one we purchased (ours is much more cute) although the "middle women" said he was. The breeder is not the one selling the puppies the "middle lady" housed many pups in her barn (which we were not permitted to see b/c she "had not cleaned it") knew nothing about the background of the puppy or the mother. This was our first time buying so we thought it was standard as she said she was just selling/showing them them bc the breeder had no room to keep them. We asked the name of the breeder and was only given a first name, she "couldn't remember" his last name. (Through research we found out) We were given no medical info except a basic vet info. We should have walked away, but the pup was so sweet and adorable, we fell in love. He is still precious and loving and life w/o him would not be the same without him.
Since we brought him home, we've spent over $4000 so far for care and a surgery is inevitable. A mediocre vet would have found the congenital disorder but there was no mention of an issue.
We drove 7 hours to an Amish area of Ohio in the middle of nowhere to get him. We were hesitant but paid, in cash (which the "middle lady" was glad to grab) for him. We'd spend a million dollars to keep our baby healthy but would NEVER use Lancaster Puppies again. I wish we'd conducted more research.
If this sounds like your situation, RUN. Don't look at the puppy, don't talk to anyone, don't even stop your car. It was a complete business transaction and not an act of love.

I advertise on Lancaster Puppies and they arent always fair. Actually they are pretty rude. They dont treat all breeders the same. They are definitely on the side of Amish breeders and not the *other breeders. They charge $17 per puppy and most times you have to pay twice. Their site is outdated, a lil slow and the worse is if one does anything wrong at all. As in, even on accident like break a posting rule, they will delete your ads and no refund. They dont care. To say the least the Amish men that run the site are pretty rude sounding and if you aint Amish, they even ruder. Thing is they make money on us breeders. Lots, they clearing at least $250,000 a year for sure. For sure. Customers are no better. Aggressive is a good word for people searching for puppies. Dont expect to be treated with respect or kindness. Dog breeders are treated like crap in general. But hold up... They all wanna buy a puppy tho. The irony.
I keep track of the folks that treat me poorly. I keep a list and give it to other breders.
Male and female yorkie puppies for sale to a caring person only.for me info message me *******887
I listed and paid for a posting on 2:09pm 12-3-21 and the posting was not published until approximately 3:42pm 12-6-21. I sent several forms messages to Lancaster Puppies, and did not receive a response until after the second submission in which in had to threaten to cancel the listing transaction. The female rep that called me lied to me several times stating she emailed me, which she didn't. She stated my listing was listed when I paid for it, but it wasn't. Ten minutes before she called the listing was not posted. During the call I checked and my listing had just been posted when she called which put my listing as the first puppy on the page. If it had been listed for several days, it wouldn't have been first. Lastly, when I wanted her to credit my listing for the days it wasn't listed she refused and when I requested to speak to a manager she insisted no one in the company is higher than her. Basically, this lady didn't do her job and was trying to cover herself. She then threatened to block my account if I cancel the transaction. Lancaster Puppies has shady personnel.
Wonderful puppy kinda skidish. Puppy smelled bad and needed bathed besides that she's great would consider.
We bought a rat terrier yorkie mix and paid when we got the puppy in hand. A 3 hour drive into beautiful Amish country about 5 weeks ago. A well maintained farm in PA.
Johnathan Peachey was our friendly breeder. Very nice and we love our dog!
Thank you, Laura, for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your experience with Lancaster Puppies and the sellers on our website. Have fun with your new furry friend!
I purchased a 3 month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier from an Amish farm in Lititiz, PA. The family came out and greeted us. It was obvious from the start that this puppy received tons of love by the owners and children. The mother was there and her pups roamed freely about. I was given the AKC certificate, vet paperwork, vaccination bottles for my vet, and a bag of food to slowly get her used to her new diet in her new home. She's well mannered and behaving fine. She's been easy to train and has been happy n healthy from the start. I did not even know about PA Amish puppy mills until after I bought her. I do not believe she came from one. She's gentle, loving and super sweet. She's adjusted well at the grooming salon and making friends at doggy daycare. I'm in love because she's perfect. I'd buy from there again!
Thank you, Stephany, for your review. We're glad you had a good experience working through our website to purchase a puppy. Enjoy your new family member!
We drive about 2.5 hours to Lancaster and came back with a lovely toy poodle she brings so much joy to our family. We had been in the lookout for a small puppy for quit a while. We were given medical records and were able to meet our puppy's momma she look very healthy and playful. Thanks king family
We drove from NY to PA for my Golden. The Kings property was spotless and the puppy was well socialized. They walked me through the whole adoption and I was able to see Mom, Dad and siblings. I would highly recommend them. Upon arrival home I went to my vet the puppy was in good health. I would be careful about some of the reviews on this page, the wording is almost identical in several instances. There are die hard people against buying a puppy, but I also have rescued goldens, this time I decided to get a puppy. My advice is do the research and ask questions. I will definitely go back if I decide to get another puppy.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for your review. We're glad you had a good experience working through our website to purchase a puppy. Enjoy your new family member!
Our little Toy Fox Terrier puppy is healthy, happy, and an absolute delight. The cost was reasonable (less than Craigslist!) and even the shipping was convenient and reasonably priced. If we ever need another puppy, we'll be back. I even got a follow-up call to make sure everything worked out.
I'm a senior, and retired. Agnes is our little sweetie-pie.
Thank you, Nikki, for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your experience with Lancaster Puppies and the sellers on our website. Have fun with your new furry friend!
We bought our "Maria" from a nice Amish family in Spring Mills, PA. I saw parents and property and both looked nice. We've had our "Raven" now for almost 3 mos and she has been nothing but a pure joy to add to our home! She's so intelligent, inquisitive, healthy, funny, and sweet! I'm so glad we made our trip from WNY to get our newest "baby"! She is majestic (and a night owl)!
Been on there off and on for 4-5 years. No problems. Its a classified site. With thousands of breeders from 10-15 diff states. They dont sell dogs themselves. They charge a lil less than anyone else. Buyers are a rough bunch now-a-days. Weed thru interested parties carefully. They are not always good people and they are often ill mannered. Meeting adopties is a good idea for sure. Dont adopt to ignorant people and dont adopt to aggressive pushy
In-a-hurry people. Take your time. Feel people out. Pick the best. It works two ways. Join breeder groups. Share info and experiences. Our family appreciates Lancaster site. Good experience.
Thank you, Lewis, for your review. We're glad you have good experiences selling on our website. Thanks for spreading the good word!
