The scan does not always pick up keywords if skills are combined. Example: Critical thinking & problem solving will get ignored whereas writing them separate will not be ignored.

This is worth the money!
December 24, 2023

I had been applying for jobs but my resume was getting automatically rejected. After I started using this program and incorporating keywords into my resume and cover letter. This made a HUGE difference. I was getting interviews and got the job I wanted. I know this wouldn't have happened if I had not used this program. IT IS WORTH THE MONEY.

I have gotten interviews when otherwise my resume would have gone into a black hole. I never knew the importance of using the exact keywords in tailoring resumes.

I wish I knew about this feature within LinkedIn months ago. Not sure why I just learned about it today after being a premium account holder for years.

Fabulous!
August 10, 2022

From two applications in the first couple of weeks, I have received two offers of interview. I actually don't think I will be needing another three months but I am telling everyone how great it is.

Almost excellent
July 4, 2024

I have been using jobscan for a while now, I have provided some feedback via the vertical yellow "Feedback" button on the right of the screen, not sure if you have read and considered them. Anyways, the things that would be great to have are:
- having the ability to see the PDF page count while live editing the resume ( I have to download the PDF format resume in order to check how many pages it is taking)
- be able to set manually the margins ( sometimes there is a need to squeeze sections within the same page, in order for the resume to take less pages)
- the job description, after the copy paste, will not render when it has emojis, and job descriptions featuring emojis are quite frequent
- be able to order sub sections within a section ( for instance, I would like to be able to order my projects in the "Project" section), and it is also a pain to add a new project at the top of the list, as I have to push all the projects down
- be able to make words in bold, italic, and underlined ( because sometimes you want to highlight keywords)
- I have also noticed that what you see in the resume editor is slightly different from what you see in the PDF version generated

Yet to see it covert to an interview, but the information received via each scan is super helpful. I need to get to a 85% mark and then see what happens!

I used Jobscan for about 8 months to help in my job search. While it is expensive, it was easily the most useful tool I found. After mastering it, I saw a jump in my response rate from submissions from nearly zero to almost 50%.

I develop and produce kids' digital and physical products, an unusual and highly competitive industry. There are few jobs posted, especially at my seniority level, and I'd been looking for a new position for nearly two years, applying at startups and major companies, and was willing to move nearly anywhere in the world for the right position.

Jobscan is not an easy tool to master. On the surface it seems like it's pushing optimization of keywords. While of course that is part of their system, the algorithms really are rewarding a sophisticated mix of what keywords you use, where, and in what context. It isn't enough to just repeat keywords over and over the way some reviewers have suggested; you have to work towards having the position descriptions on your resume align with the job posting in terms of hierarchy and frequency.

I've recommended Jobscan.co to a number of colleagues and friends, and while I ultimately got a job within my network, I believe the interviews I got with major companies in my industry, after months of my submissions going into a black hole, were the result of matching my skillset to the language they were using in their job postings.

The software does not appear to recognize all variations of certain required skills and/or verb texts. For instance, system design does not match to designing systems.

Before using JobScan you need to make sure your resume is sophisticated and read like you are brining a higher intellectual level to the table. (for tech jobs at least and based on my experience)

Once your resume look great and read great, you use JobScan to make sure ATS pick your resume.

After paying a resume a writer to write my resume, I was getting no calls or emails. I was only getting rejections. After using JobScan and optimizing my resume for the positions I am interested in, my phone was ringing every 10~20 minutes.

Once you optimized your resume for a few jobs in your field (optimize for all and not only 1) using JobScan, put your resume on popular job websites. Wait and see what happens. I needed one iteration, but if the magic did not happen after 7 days, go back and optimize your resume for 3 other similar roles.

If you get rejected in interviews, that is unfortunate but if you do not even make it to the interview, professional resume writing (I paid under $100) and JobScan work like a charm.

I have found a job and would not need JobScan anymore but I am going to pay the subscription fee, just to support the team behind JobScan

Great Check Tool

I have been a Professional Resume Writer for 7 years and a Recruiter for 3 but seeing the jobscan results was really a help to confirm I was going in the right direction - and, for a particularly difficult role, helped clarify the skills that I needed to mention more.
