My son took this class to get points back on his license in SC. After he completed and passed the course he just gets run around. SCDMV says the company has to submit the certificate of completion to get credit for course. I Drive Safely says he has to take it to SCDMV that they do not submit it.
So just a joke and waste of time and money.
He did take the Alive at 25 course loved it and took away a lot from it.
Voice recognition is faulty! What a scam! I wasted 6 hours of my life only to have voice recognition fail twice and boot me out with 1section left! Shaniqua the car service rep refused to reset me even after I explained I was the only female in the house and that this being the last day to finish it was impossible to start over and complete course! Stay away! I can't believe my ins co rep recommended this site! This wasn't my first time doing an online course, did empire safety with no issues!
This is the worst site I have ever visited... no matter what the category. While my daughter was taking the course the site kicked her off several times and she had to log in over and over. Also, it intermittently asks "security questions". One of them was "What kind of music do you like best?" She couldn't remember what she had answered... she likes lots of different kinds of music. (She said I couldn't remember how she was feeling that day). Anyway, the page she was on said she could call customer service to reset the test... then it kicked her off again. When she related in, it said she had failed the test. We called "customer service" and they refused to reset and refused to refund our money.
Horrible. I had a particular case where I didn't need the course. I found this out from DMV after I passed & took the course. They wouldn't offer a refund. Their money-back guarantee is a sham & doesn't exist. Stay away.
What else can I say. Everything was exactly as advertised. The course was super easy and helpful and I completed it in a couple of hours. Also, I needed the certificate the next day so I completed the course at around noon and by 3pm the same day I got a confirmation that the certificate was shipped out and I received it in the morning. I brought my certificate to traffic court and got my speeding ticket dismissed. So overall a great experience for me and I would recommend this program to anyone that is needing to take a defensive driving course.
I called their customer service hotline. After waiting on hold for 30 mins, I left a message to be called back. No call back. I waited on hold again for 20 mins and left a message. No call back. I then attempted to get some resolution with their online chat service. I chatted with someone who was brief, uniformitative, and and down right rude. When it was clear that they were unable to help me, they referred be back to their hotline. I asked for a direct line to someone who could held and the name of the persons' supervisor, but was instructed again to call the hotline and "speak with any supervisor." Absolute terrible customer service.
I had Failed some classes early on in highschool so I couldnt Take drivers ed. Finding this idrivesafey has saved me so much money and actually taught me really good. I'm a visual learner so this was perfect for me.
After 5 hours into the class (last module) their crappy voice recognition system stopped working - they switched me to the keystoke (why no mention of this earlier?) but said I had to take the whole class over blaming it on NYs law. Escalated the call to someone who would 'get right back' to me who email about 8 hours later that they couldn't do anything.
Complete waste of 5 hours
My daughter didn't have any problems with the course itself, except she hated those long, frequent, and unnecessary drive plans. She did have a few failures with the authentication. The problem I had was when the course was done. They said they couldn't transfer her DE-964 without transfer information and when I tried to enter it, the website just kept taking me back to the same page. I also was then unable to log into the site and when I tried to retrieve password it told me my information could not be found. Then, I made the mistake of calling customer service. This is my 3rd attempt and, so far, have been on hold for 47 minutes. I have no idea how they have an A rating with the BBB, but it seems like if you want an issue resolved, you have to file a complaint with them. I finally got someone to come on the line at about 50 minutes and, hopefully, got the issue resolved. We will see if it actually gets mailed.
Awful awful awful. I paid for the course and exam. My son passed both but then it wouldn't submit it. I work nights so I stayed up to call them Monday morning and I just kept getting message saying I'm calling outside of the business hours. I emailed them and got no response. I never got ahold of them and ended up paying for it again through a different company!
I purchased this course through AAA. After making an initial voice authentication recording before starting course, I was prompted constantly for re-authentication during the course. This consisted of calling a number, entering a pin (which you better have a pen handy to write down and repeat the numbers they give you FAST), and speaking the numbers given.
I am the only one taking the course and using same voice, tone, no backround noises and slow speech and I failed authentication TWICE! Now I'm being promted to start this grueling course all over again, when I was pretty much at the end.
Previous reviewers have stated that customer service is horrible. I may have to take my losses.
I really thought I can let this go but I can't. I was taking my permit test and I was on the 38 question, I click the answer and continue but it wouldn't load. When it did it says post error, I login back its the same problem. At the end i fail the test because time runs out. I dont know if i was going to pass or not because this website didn't give me a chance to. I am about to be 18 without a permit and i am scare to take the permit test online.
This is an excellent course. It teaches you a lot and refreshes your memory of things you know but may have forgotten. The only bad thing 8 hours is way to long though and the videos weren't really necessary. I couldn't get mine to show. It's a lot to take in and remember at the end. The quiz at each chapter is great but I didn't see the need for the quiz at the very end. It's hard to study and remember everything when you're older!
Thanks for the opportunity to go over the safety and guidelines of being on the road, I learned more than I know and it was good for me. I've learned things here that I may have never figured out, that they don't go through in the DMV book.
Voice recognition didn't recognize my voice and locked me out. I got to an agent after 8 minutes who said the reason was there was probably background noise or I was in a different room. I wasn't. She said she'd transfer me to a "specialist." I thought she was the "specialist." After waiting another 10 minutes the prompt said to leave a message and a specialist would call me back. That never happened. I tried contacting customer service with the "instant chat." Tried that and I got a blank screen. This site is not legitimate and I'm trying to get my money back. How NYS approved this as a viable course is beyond me.
Initially I gave idrive a rating of 1 because I did not receive my certificate online and I needed it within 5 hours for court. Well I called and idrive sent me certificate via email and I had it for court. The rating of 1 was not because of the material. It was a well designed course and I would recommend it.

I took the pretest and recieved a 93 and continued on with the course even though I already knew the material. Every so often it asked me to do a voice recognition call test and it failed me two times. I am so confused. I now have 3 more chapters to finish and I'm so nervous it will make me have to restart the course even though it IS ME. This needs to be fixed. It's not fair that people are wasting their time and money on a course that won't be efficient. I am beyond frustrated. I will be sure to warn my friends about using this online course. It's so messed up.

The customer service is awful along with the online teachers. Don't email the teachers if you want a snotty, condescending response. I finished my course 2 weeks before I can take my actual driving test and they never sent me my completion certificate. We called over and they consistently lied telling me that it was sent and they would email it. The last time we called the person said that they hadn't emailed the certificate because my instructor hadn't graded my last two assignments and that the certificate couldn't be emailed. Did not have a very welcoming few months with I Drive Safely.
It was long but easy and helpful. It takes dedication and time but it will definitely help you. Overall it was a little boring. The videos are old and it wasn't that fun to look at. But the information was clear to understand.
The people who are complaining about never receiving their certificate. They dp not know their address how to spell their name their street address or when they were born. IDS receives returned mail on a daily basis because these people are careless. When we go to contact them they hang up or their phone is disconnected. Idiots who expect the FEDEX guy to pick up their certificate when they finish the course after normal business hours so their certificate is delivered the very next morning. Are you kidding me! Who doesn't know FEDEXs cut off time GLOBALLY is 4 PM! So when you finish after 6 PM you want your certificate rhe next morning because you have a driving test? Get REAL. Just phyisically impossible! Grow Up. Get better organized and get educated. Learn how to spell. And quit lying about how no one calls you back!
