Very easy course
November 22, 2018

I had to unfortunately take this online course due to a speeding ticket. But let me tell you this was so easy and it was made fun so that you learn and remember the things that it teaches. This is great for new drivers and not so new. I would recommend this course for anyone who needs it.

Take your chances
February 5, 2016

I would not recommend idrivesafely until their voice authentication is fixed or eliminated. I was in the last chapter when I did not pass the voice authentication test and was locked out. Once locked out they will not reset your account and you must start the test from the very beginning. About 7 hours of work were wasted. Unfortunately I found these reviews to late. To be fair I, my comment applies only the New York State edition but I suspect other state editions would be as problematic. FWIW, no apologies were given.
You can do better. F

I drive safely review
December 11, 2018

It was very informative, and a refresher course since I have been a licensed driver for over 40 plus years. The only thing I would change is if you finish reading before the alloted time you would be able to continue without having to wait. My certificate came in the mail a week later which i really appreciated. I also liked the fact that it cost half of what I would have had to pay if I had gone to a defensive driving course.

I read the comments before purchasing and was hoping I wasn't going to have problems with the verification process, I did. I called customer service telling them that the pin wasn't showing at all and the system was automatically failing me. They did a really nice thing by removing my three fails. They told me that they would have their background team look into it and that I should wait 24 hours. The next day it works and continues to work. Good customer service and thank you Michael!

Rude Customer Service
February 4, 2016

Customer Service reps hung up on me twice. The drawn-out delay in getting to the bottom of an issue, amount of dropped chats, unresponsive emails, disconnected phone calls, and avoidance of speaking to the customer in person is simply not professional, and most importantly, not polite. When submitting a review to the BBB, the company used the tactic of pointing the blame back to the customer which further represents their unwillingness to improve communications internally.

Scam
February 4, 2016

I am very worried that I will not receive my certificate after reading these 'horror' stories. I was on the phone this morning, and they claim they had my wrong address of which I can't prove. My debit card and driver's license have the correct address, they are lying. I paid another 10 dollars for email and now they are claiming that their having email issues with that particular course. I have to wait till 8AM till technicians arrive to fix the problem. This is a rip off and I am so sorry I have to say that after having good experience with the course.

Frustrating
October 26, 2015

Glitches in the program cause frustration and then you can't get anyone to respond to emails for help. Calling the 24/7 line is even worse if you want to speak with a human... hold times are really, really long and the hold music will drive you crazy.

I had no issues with the course and referred several friends who then signed up. I've been waiting over 2 months for my gift card for making the referral and have yet to recieve it. I've sent several emails all to be ignored.

Lack of certificate
March 21, 2018

I took an online course. Upon completion I requested a copy of my certification. Although their FAQ states I am entitled to a copy, no one can send me a copy.
Therefore if you are using I Drivev Safely program I give you fair warning that they will not send you a copy of your certificate that you paid for.

Overall the course was good but not being able to get a certificate copy makes the expense worthless.

I managed call centers for 27 years of my life. When you ask to speak to a manager and you are told there is no one here. That is total bull$#*!. There is always more than one supervisor or manager on site to handle complaints.

I also tried to get a name at their corporate office. That was unavailable to be as well.

So be watered what you are paying them for.

I was so thankful to find an online Driver Safety class to help get this discount from my car insurance. It was pretty long but the content was well represented in the questions. Which is something that I worried about. Now I have my certificate and sent it to my insurance so hopefully it will lower my premiums.

Eduard,

I am very sorry that you are dissatisfied with the DMV-mandated and -regulated authentication systems required for use in your course. Unfortunately, not only are the authentication systems required by the Department of Motor Vehicles for all online point and insurance reduction courses, but they set the parameters for the systems and regulate them as well, and we are legally bound to use the systems as designed without changing them in any way. We include information about these systems both on our website and in the Terms and Conditions for the course which one must indicate that they have read and agreed to during registration. I apologize for any confusion you may have had when you read this information and for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

I am deeply sorry that you were dissatisfied with your customer service experience. If you would please email me your account information, I will be happy to look into this personally for you.

Thank you.

Rip off
December 7, 2019

My course expired. They would not give a refund and would not extend the course for me to complete. I would never use this company. I paid about $25 to save on my insurance but there will be no savings for me. Just expense. Unless you have a whole lot of time to complete this quickly don't purchase it. I have 4 kids so not a lot of time here and now I spent money on something that will have no benefit to me.

Hi Virginia! Thank you for reaching out. If the course is not completed within a certain timeframe we do have to set the course to expire. We do attempt to notify the student when the course expiration date is upon them. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you.

They took my money for a 4 hour BDI course and never sent the results to the dmv. My license was cancelled due to me not taking the course. I chatted with them numerous times and was assured they would fix it. Probably some fat bimbo sitting behind a computer eating donuts.

In my opinion, I think the timing on each slide is unnecessary... honestly. Without a timer on the slides, I think It would be less time consuming in some ways, with that I could be finished reading a slide and there still be like 3 minutes left in those five minutes. Feel like it this course could use without the timer pertaining to the reading slides.

The course was easy to understand and complete in the comfort of my own home. I received my course completion certificate within a week of completing the course and would highly recommend this class to anyone who wants to remove a traffic violation from their record and receive a motor vehicle insurance discount.

I guess anytime a company insists on not making their number available be ware. They didn't send the certificate to the DMV as promised. I went to the DMV myself and presented the certificate I printed and the DMV doesn't recognize it. There is no one or any customer service number you can call. This is terrible. I'll be talking about them on the radio all week. Terrible

So one course is much like the next, this is total nonsense just to get your ticket cleared. The real issue is the customer service and the site. Most video dont play or freeze and you have to take it all over. I was charged several times and had to dispute it with paypal every time. Best of all didnt receive the course completion certificate to show the dmv so had to take the class all over at another driving school.

I was on chapter 5 and I failed the voice recognition past chapter 6 and then failed chapter 7. I used the my cell phone sitting in the same spot when making all the calls. I just wasted 5 hours to be kicked out of the program Use a different company because there was no reason why I would fail my own voice recognition. Don't waste your time with this company.

I would like to apologize for the dissatisfaction that you experienced with the New York State DMV-mandated authentication systems and that you found yourself among the 1%-5% of students who experience an issue with the system. The NY DMV requires that we use these authentication systems and that they are set to the exact parameters set by the NY DMV. Unfortunately this means that we cannot adjust them or change them in any way, or else we would no longer be able to offer classes in New York. The information about the authentication system and the automatic course failure caused by failing too many authentications is explained on our website at https://www.idrivesafely.com/defensive-driving/new-york/pirp/faq/?vID=z2Xb&eID=860#ci-q9. This information is also included in the Terms and Conditions for all of our New York courses, which one must read and agree to in order to complete registration. The applicable section reads as follows: "AUTHENTICATION STUDENT understands that for identity verification purposes, the COURSE PROVIDER may utilize one or all of the following methods for ensuring the identity of the course participant: 1.) The COURSE PROVIDER shall include voice authentication process to be answered at the beginning of the course. STUDENT will be required to meet a minimum of 7 voice validation requirements throughout the course in order to validate the personal identity of the STUDENT. 2.) During registration, if STUDENT is unable to successfully enroll in the voice authentication process, a secondary keystroke biometric process will be implemented. In this instance the COURSE PROVIDER shall include keystroke biometric authentication process to be answered at the beginning of the course. STUDENT will be required to meet a minimum of 7 keystroke validation requirements throughout the course in order to validate the personal identity of the STUDENT. Failure to provide the correct voice pattern or keystroke imprint results in authentication failure. STUDENT shall have two chances to fail authentication, after which he/she is logged out of the course thereby losing credit for all sections completed to that point. STUDENT will be redirected to registration pages and he/she will have to re-register and restart the course from the beginning." I apologize for any confusion you may have had when reading this information during registration and for any inconvenience that may have caused you. Thank you. Joe Tracey, Social Care Specialist, socialcare@edriving.com.
