Hulu's reputation is marked by a diverse content library and the appeal of timely access to popular TV shows and movies, which many customers appreciate. However, significant concerns have emerged regarding technical performance, including frequent buffering, app freezes, and navigation difficulties, leading to frustration among users. Additionally, issues with customer service, such as unresponsive support and billing discrepancies, have been highlighted. The overall sentiment indicates that while Hulu offers valuable content, persistent operational problems and a growing dissatisfaction with ad frequency may push customers toward alternative streaming services.

Absolutely terrible choose any other service but this. Forces same ad over and over always pushing political stuff when I'm trying to watch a video.
I have some time on my hands these days and I wanted to watch some old housewives episodes. I found out that Hulu offers them, so I sign up and I start watching. 2 days in and I'm loving it! On the 4th day (took a break on the 3rd) I go to watch some
More episodes and it says "this isn't included in your current subscription, we offer plans and add ons blah blah blah" who lets someone start watching a series and then says "WAIT! The $6.00 your are paying a month isn't enough, you now have to pay $62 bucks to continue watching it!? Hulu you guys did me dirty, that's not cool man.
I wish I could give this half a star but it only allows for one minimal. Hulu is untrustworthy and greedy. Want to watch a 20 minute show? Sit through 4 minutes of ads. An hour show? Sit through 8 or 10 minutes. Oh but they give you the option to pay more money for slightly less ads. Still stinks. OH but they give you ANOTHER option to pay EVEN MORE money for no ads! Lol that's not how you bring in customers or revenue. BEFORE YOU BUY... remember they only let you watch certain shows/movies based on how much money you pay for the subscription. If you've ever used Hulu you would know that they are in it for the money nor the service. Nobody is ever there to help you, nor do they put up a lot of shows/movies. But they have free tv so that should magically solve all your problems. I'd maybe consider it if they weren't so crappy with the red carpet.
This guy is snotty and rude, claimed he did not have a supervisor to talk to. Said he could not reset my home ip for live because my internet provider is rural and comes up on their end as a Mobil hotspot even though it is in my home and Hulu works on my tablets and phone while sitting in my living room. I pay over $90.00 per month and he told me I could not watch the live on my tv because of the way the internet comes up. They do have an override button, for this problem but Giovanni would not override as he said he would be setting the "wrong" president. This is after another person two weeks ago fixed it. This is ridiculous and basically a disreputable company since I pay for multiple screens, enhanced dvr, and no commercials. I rarely watch the live part, mostly the streaming portion. They say that fire sticks are supposed to work but mine do not work either. Basically go to one of the other services for your live tv as Hulu does not want your business according to Giovanni who told me he would cancel my account if I did not like it and that he did not have a supervisor I could talk to. Then told me he was ending the call. This guy should be fired as he obviously does not have any skills except how to be nasty.
I Hate Hulu! Avoid Hulu!
Avoid Hulu! Terrible service - dropped streaming multiple times during viewing. I have the absolute best internet available and don't have problems with any other streaming service. Biggest concern is Multiple outrageous charges on credit card. My service charges last month were $98 and I'm not supposed to have ads- I cannot count the ads that play. I hate Hulu! I tell everyone I know!
I switched back to Hulu last year when they added local ABC channels. Now, after a year of dealing with unreliable service, buffering, problems with controlling loudness, poor color correction, and overcharges and upcharges and a major price gouge, they have removed local ABC channels without notification. All in all, a waste of my time and certainly of my money. Today, I have cancelled my service but I don't get a refund for the next 12 days that I won't be using their services. The final insult. I wish there was a way to tell them something that a certain specific one fingered hand gesture would convey. Are they trying to push everyone back to using cable? Great business plan, Hulu!
Hulu has the worst service ever. I can't get through one movie without it stopping and restarting a 1000 times. I wouldn't waste my time on this service. I called customer service and they didn't seem to really want to help with the problem. This is by far the worst most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with.
Don't waist your time with this! User support couldn't figure it out and we are frustrated! All other web streaming on our Apple TV works FINE except Hulu. No ready for prime time!
Not having CBS and then they turn around and up their price. I believe that's not a way to do business no wonder their rating is only 2.6 or something like that.
Tried all the refresh advice, and no improvement. You get loads of adverts (with no pauses) and your chosen content can't progress 45 seconds without buffering for 3 minutes. Totally unwatchable... and you have to pay for it!
Why do I need to sit with my remote and adjust the volume down every time an ad comes on, then raise it when my show returns so I can hear it? Its friggen annoying! And if I dont get to it quick enough, I wake everyone up in the house. Forget watching anything late at night...
This simple maxim explains the disastrous TV experience named Hulu. Hulu tries to make TV watching better in some unfathomable way. Just try to watch a local TV channel! Betcha can't figure it out.
Horrible movies terrible glitchy platform and if you watched something 3 years ago and left it at 30 sec left it will remember but if you just started a new movie and are 15min into it it will be gone not in history or keep watching... the playback is so bad its like watching 90s tv. Prime tv is way better love that i will cancel hulu this month and never look back
Hulu isn't terrible or great. They're kinda like oatmeal. Yeaaaaaa, you'll eat it. 2 main things r content. 1) not enough of it and 2) u can't download like u can on NF, prime, hbomax, Disney. If u want to download u can but only if u pay for the more expensive service. That is so shady. Seriously, just give me it. The days of dangling the carrot to get people to buy is such an ancient business strategy. It just doesn't work. Waaay to many options for hulu to be playing kiddie games. So I cancelled. Plus the orginals is the least of the bunch. Not enough of em and more importantly not enough good ones.
First time cut cable to try Hulu live (over past 30 days) and will immed return to cable. No question. Only pro with Hulu is cost savings (approx $150/mos for basic cable pkg). Hulu cons: picture quality think cheesy motel 25 years ago; service interruptions every few days ("sorry, working to restore," svc can be out minutes if not hrs). Miz substitute for pic quality/service dependability of cable!
They make their commercials loud enough to wake the dead. Clearly a tone deaf jerk marketing move. These people deserve to be throw off a cliff for how much they increase the volume on commercials. Basically they are grade D con people. Making me mute a commercial and hate a product is not good marketing you turds. Go catch on fire.
We switched from Direct TV to Hulu for cost reasons. It takes a bit to adapt to HULU functionality. Clicking around within the site is not smooth, they should work on that. There is what they call a dvr... it; s not. You can record programs but cannot easily start at the beginning... sometimes not at all... NEEDS to be better. We opted for no commercials ($6 per month) Most shows still have commercials... some (very few) have none and some requires and annoying clicking game to skip ads. Will likely drop this. If there is a better way ie dvr, commercials
Etc... it is not spelled out clearly in any way. I just got an email saying our service will increase $10 per month.
Will have to consider That!
For a paid service, there are WAY too many commercials. Every 5 minutes there are 60 to 90 seconds of commercials. I can't even keep up with the story with so many interruptions. I am going to write this review on every review site I can find.
The past four months I've been watching Hulu. I've been having the problem of it constantly buffering and shutting down saying they're having trouble shooting. And kicking me completely off and having to go all the way back onto Hulu and start over again. Hulu is beginning to suck.
Hulu will charge you if you don't want to watch ads and then still run them! Don't bother to pay extra for no ads because they claim that certain "stations" have the right to run ads and they cannot do anything about it. Ridiculous! You also cannot fast forward through ads if you're watching something on demand.
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
